Hi. I'm in the same boat you are, borderline bmi and i have no cormodities. My nurse and nutritionist both said, when they submit the paper work they always use the weight from the initial consult, so i can lose weight. My 90days will be up nov 18, so i was hoping to either get it done around that time or wait til my Christmas break -
Hi, Im just starting this journey myself. I had my first surgeon consult on 8/17/11. My insurance company is making me do a 90 day supervised diet program b4 dr can submit authorization to them. I have been overweight my entire adult life, Im ready for this change

Hi, my Dr and Nurse said they use your weight from day one, when they submit the paper work for approval.So if you lose weight its a bonus and some people lose 10-20 lbs during their pre-op liquid diet. -

Today was a great learning experience. I had my first consultation with the surgeon. I have to do a 90 supervised diet program prior for insurance requirement. I think I can lose 100lbs but Dr said most patients lose 40-45% of their excess weight

Hi, I have aetna health manitence organization and a representative states that lap band is covered if its medically necessary. Im 5"8 270lbs with a bmi of 41..My ? is will Aetna still make me go thru hoops to get approved? and whats the quickest approval time from Aetna???

Hi.Did Aetna approve you and how long did it take? Did you hv to show 90 days of seeing a nutritionist/behavior modification etc??? I didnt apply for surgery yet -

If u dont mind me asking, why did aetna deny you, i also hv aetna but i dont hb ,my first surgeon consult til 10/11. So I pray Aetna doesnt deny me too -

Hi, Im so excited, i hv my first surgical consultation on Oct 11..I keep calling to see if there are any cancellations, so i can get that date bumped up. I meet with my primary physician tomm, to get my referall. I hope she doesnt tell me I dont really need lap band and dont provide me with my referral. I hv a BMI of 41.I havent told anyone that Im actually pursuing this, i hinted back months ago with my 2 Bff's, one was suppotive and the other said I can do it on my own, but I really cant, I lost weight before, but i gained it all back plus 20..
