  1. Happy 45th Birthday Mitz!

  2. 5 weeks post-op and down 25 pounds...now I know why you all love your band!
  3. Just had my 1st post op today, was banded on 8/1. I just started "mushies" for dinner...didn't really even enjoy it b/c I was so stressed out about something getting stuck! My first instinct was to drink water w/ my meal but the nutritionist says nothing to drink 30 mins before and especially 30 mins after a meal. I found myself very thirsty and wanting a drink. Anyone else feel this way? Will I get used to not drinking w/ meals?
  4. Oops, forgot to answer the question! I have been married for 15 years to a wonderfully supportive skinny can eat whatever he wants kind of guy and we have two great funny kids; 13 yr old boy and a 10 yr old girl. I know I should say that I did this for myself but in all honesty...I did it for my kids. I want to be around as long as I can for them I will be 44 on Aug 31st.
  5. Hi, My name is Michelle and I was banded 8/1/11. Down 15 lbs so far. Feeling pretty good...post op appt tomorrow and hopefully progressing onto next diet phase...pretty sick of the liquids! The support here is great, thanks!

    Post-op

funny. I didn't have those horrible gas pains everyone speaks of either...thankfully! I am not a back sleeper either but I do not have a recliner. I am able to sleep on my right side only (opposite side of my port incision). Tried to go grocery shopping today and started to feel dizzy, luckily my hubby was there to send me to the car and finish up...baby steps!

Congrats to you too! I am so glad the surgery is over and recovery has not been bad...whew!

    nervous, scared

I was terrified when I got my surgery date. I was banded on 8/1, so I have almost a week under my belt. I will tell you, for me, the worst part so far was from the time I got my surgery date to the actual day of my surgery. I was so scared too but what scared me more was what would happen to me if I didn't have the surgery over the next few years. I am a mom too and that is what gave me the courage to go through with it. I am a total wimp when it comes to things like surgery but I just pushed through and literally told myself to stay strong for my family. Best of luck to you
  9. Hi Lorraine, I am 6 days post-op and I find that with each day, I have less pain. I didn't have any bleeding but I found that my largest incision is the most painful...I don't like that one! Best of luck!
  10. I was banded on 8/1 and doing well except for trying to get down the liquid Colace that I was prescribed...it tastes like a shot of shampoo! The problem is...it works! Anyone have any suggestions on making it taste better? I am new, so I hope I posted this right!
