    Advice for the upcoming sleevers!!

Congrats on your success! Thank you for the advice and words of encouragement. My surgery is this Saturday so right now I am struggling with the pre-op diet. I get very hungry, sometimes shaky and other times nauseous. Any advice for the pre-op diet? My BMI is 42.
  12. I bought a mug warmer from Wal-Mart, like one you put your coffee mug on to keep coffee warm while you're working.
  13. It's getting super close for you! How exciting :)

FLMA or Leave of Absence question?

I made an appointment with my family doctor and explained my situation to her and she is filling out the form for me. My surgeons office provided me with a statement saying I was scheduled for the surgery, that is all my family doc needed so she could fill out my FMLA documents. I hope this helps!

  17. Ally,

I will be at Jerusalem for surgery on the 10th. I should be there between 9:30-10am. If you are up and walking around, I will be the fat lady with brown curly hair sitting with a very nervous husband :)

Wishing you all the best! I'm guessing your not sleeping well at this point, I don't think I will be able to sleep at all next week. I hope you have a healthy and speedy recovery.

    September Sleeve Roster

I bet you are getting so excited, maybe a little nervous. We will be thinking about you, hope all goes well and you have a speedy and uneventful recovery!
  21. That must be an amazing feeling! We all have had some type of experience that caused us to feel 'not normal' and like some out cast in society! The worse for me was when I couldn't fit into one of the roller coaster seats at Cedar Point. I'm thankful they had a seat stationed outside the ride, before you got in line so you coud see if you were able to fit and put the seatbelt on properly, otherwise I would have gone through the line and wasted a lot of time and been really embarrassed when I finally reached the end of the line. So, it's moments like yours that makes us feel so free and like we do belong in society. Keep up the good work, you are doing GREAT!

    down to a size 12

Congrats! That is amazing, I love reading success stories, my eyes tear up with JOY for you!!! My surgery is Sept. 10th. I am currently a size 22 and I haven't been a size 12 in over 20 years, I just can't imagine myself below a size 16. I hope I get smaller than that but right now it just seems impossible.
  23. Thank you for the wonderful reply Nilesmama!

    9-22-11 sleeve date siblings?

I'm looking forward to good health! Also feeling comfortable in clothes again and not feeling like I constantly have to place something over my belly when I sit, like no one knows I'm fat under there
