  1. I was banded on august 12, 2011.. Before I got my band I was doing all kinds of research, as other people do, and I had read that sometimes the lapband procedure could cure PCOS! I got so excited, as I cant have children because of my PCOS, then I was reading an article that other countries are trying to get the Lapband procedure cleared as a fertility treatment! I think that this would be so awesome. I have also talked to some people on here who have lost a lot of weight from the lapband procedure then BAM, pregnant. Has anyone had luck with it yet?

Good luck to you!! I even feel better already!
  5. My surgeon does not do fills until 6 weeks post op because it takes 6 weeks to heal, and instead of doing it early and risking busting a stitch he waits 6 weeks. next fills are dont no sooner than 4 weeks apart and if you feel you need it

    Liquor And The Lap Band

So wish I could do this anony..... Ok, well as far as lapband and liquor for me goes.... Before I was banded I drank ALOT! like a 5th or more of Jagermeister per day in the form of jager bombs. So that was atleast a 5th of Jager and 5-12oz Redbulls per 5th... Im down to doing that about 3-4 times a week now instead of 7. I was banded on 8-12-11 and have lost 58 pounds. I am ahead of schedule and in the last 5 weeks lost 20 pounds so my surgeon would not give me a fill.. I drink a lot but I also WALK WALK WALK, do crunches, sit ups. Things like that. I stay active. I can only imagine what I would have lost by now had I not been drinking so much .

    Loose Skin In Your 20's!

I was banded 8-12-11 58 pounds down and I do have the loose under belly skin that I know I will have to have tucked. You never know how much is gonna be left until you are done loosing weight but mine is also my arms and underbelly. Think I might have some inner thigh lipo also.
  8. Girl! Go for the surgery that YOU want. Its nice that he put those options out there for you but there are a lot of other MORE serious health risks with those surgeries also. I chose the band because honestly, I have seen NEG NEG NEG about the sleeve and bypass is DANGEROUS from the research I have done. I was banded 8-12-11 and have lost 58 pounds

Not Sure If I Need To Be Un-Filled...

In this case even a 1/2 cc unfill could make a world of difference! maybe even 1/4. Def. give our surgeon a call because you COULD become dehydrated. Also my surgeon suggests that if you have any vomiting at all, DO NOT try to eat anything for 6 hours and only drink CLEAR liquids when you absolutely HAVE to during those 6 hours. The 6 hours allows swelling to go down some. Good luck and always communicate with your surgeon and his staff

    Before The First Fill

I was banded on August 12, 2011. My first fill wasnt for 6 weeks. My doctor stated that it take 6 weeks to heal and he absolutely does no do a fill prior to the 6 week mark. I recieved the small band during surgery. My starting weight was 316, and I had dropped 20 pounds during that six weeks with no fill so I was already getting some restriction from my band. My first fill was done on 9-23. I have been losing weight this whole time but just recently got in to my "green" zone and have been able to completly skip my last 2 appointments. I now weigh 258. 58 pounds down in 5 months. You will get there, it just takes time. Talk with your doctor, make sure you communicate. Make sure your not drinking fluid an hour before you eat or 30 minutes after because it will move food through your stoma faster. Also make sure you are eating WHOLE solid proteins and staying away from soft foods like mashed potatoes, jello, pudding, things like that. MEAT MEAT MEAT!!! Hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, chicken, turkey.. Also, junk food breaks down a lot faster, crackers and pretzels, chips and cookies are all considered slider foods and can pass through quickly, or if your in your green zone, these items can also get stuck. I concentrate mainly on meat and cheese because those are the best available for protein and then maybe a few bites of veggies if i have room but I ALWAYS finish my solid meats first. and I really dont want my hair to fall out because of vitamin deficiency so I also take my daily vitamins. Good luck with your journey and remember, this is the tool that you needed to make it work and you WILL get there, maybe not your next fill, or even the next, but you will start to feel restriction.

  12. It's been almost 4 months since I was banded and I am doing and feeling great!!! I have lost 44 pounds as of today and couldnt be any happier with my success.

  13. Well everyone. I forgot to introduce myself when I first started using this site. I guess I will do my introduction now! My name is Nicki, I am 26 years old from Arkansas and was recently banded on August 12th. So far I have had a bit of a journey but it is getting better each day. NIGHTMARE!!! OH MY! I had my surgery August 12th, then on August 16th I was dry heaving and throwing up everytime I would take a sip of water. We feared something had gone wrong and by the time I was re-admitted to the hospital on August 18th I was dehydrated. I stayed overnight to get rehydrated and had a bunch of tests done, everything with the band was fine and come to find out.. It was terrible timing for this STOMACH BUG to inhabit my body!! I was down for a while but now I am feeling much better and on my road to recovery and success. I have lost 21 pounds since August 8th!!! I am very excited about my lapband now but honestly at this moment I am becoming hungrier and hungrier!
  14. Hey everyone. I am newly banded. I was banded on august 12th. The first few days were fine except for a gas bubble that floats around my ribs and chest however, today is a different story. First thing this morning when I woke up, I felt as if I were going to vomit. I dry heaved a few times and then felt better. I had some breakfast and about 2 hours later dry heaved again. then again and again. 4 times. it seems to come after the gas bubble floats way up in my chest. I dont actually vomit anything up, just white foamy looking stuff and just a small amount and then i heave and heave. Anyone experience this?
  15. So tired and so sore!! Was banded 7 hours ago and I just feel so sore when I breathe
