Calculating BMR after weightloss with the sleeve
Michelle Wolfe posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I was on my fitness pal today and calculated my BMR, it has me at 1390 calories, but I'm thinking it's different for wls people. Is this true? If so, is there a way to make it accurate for people after wls? -
I sometimes find myself thinking the fat girl clothes are much cuter than the regular size clothes and get irritated. But then I remind myself of how much healthier and and better I feel. #fatgirlbraininfulleffect lol

Who can eat everything?
Michelle Wolfe replied to sparker's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I've never had a problem getting any type of food after surgery and it sucks. lol I totally wish my body hated carbs and sugary things but nope. They were a danger before surgery and they totally are now as well. -
Counting calories or counting carbs?
Michelle Wolfe posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I see a lot of people on here that stick to a 600-800 calorie diet and others that just do low carb but don't count calories. I am a year out and having a hard time losing these last ten pounds. I am curious, people that just count calories-What do your meal plans look like in a day. For those who only count carbs-How many carbs do you allow yourself per day? Also could you tell me whether you are in maintenance or actively trying to lose. Thanks! -
I am one year out today, and haven't quite reached goal. I would like to be 120 and I've been sitting at 133 forever! Happy though to have lost this much, and so thankful for this surgery!

Anyone had success with getting BCBS of Illinois to cover paniculectomy?

Wondering if anyone with Blue Cross Blueshield of Illinois has had success with getting a panniculectomy covered? -
4 weeks out and really struggling
Michelle Wolfe replied to IndigoOrchid's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Eating will get easier, I promise! Don't let anyone get you down, eventually you will start to look and feel amazing! Is your husband overweight? Maybe he is jealous. After I had surgery and started losing weight my husband felt like he needed to go to the gym and diet and surprisingly enough he has stuck with it. -

I had surgery on Feb. 8th of 2012, and it has been the best decision I ever made! I will be praying for you! -
Do any low BMI-ers regret having the surgery?
Michelle Wolfe replied to noellegz1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Iggychic, I noticed you and I had the same surgeon. I am curious, what exactly caused all your problems during surgery? Did you end up with a leak? -
Do any low BMI-ers regret having the surgery?
Michelle Wolfe replied to noellegz1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope, I am 5'2 and was 207 at the time of surgery. I am now in a healthy weight range and I know I couldn't have done it and been successful without this surgery. I am not quite at goal yet, but honestly I would be happy if I didn't lose another pound. I haven't been the weight I am now since junior high! I am glad I did the surgery when I did because that just means I had less weight to lose than if I had waited longer and let my BMI go up more. -

Have you tried Chike protein powder, it is the only one I can tolerate and you can order sample packs and they have lots of different flavors to try. www.chikenutrition.com -
pounds lost vs. inches lost
Michelle Wolfe replied to rass21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're looking great! Don't let your surgeon get you down, you are still very early in your journey. Keep in mind that everyone loses at different rates! As long as you are sticking to whatever plan your surgeon recommends, the weight will come off eventually! I am almost a year out and still losing, it just takes time. -
Having A Hard Time With Easter Candy In The House
Michelle Wolfe posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, so I have two little ones and every easter, they end up with like 3 easter baskets each from different relatives. I'm finding it harder to stay away from the candy and would really like to throw it away, but my husband thinks that would be unfair to the kids. Anyone have any suggestions on how I should deal with this? -

I love the idea of leaving candy out for the candy fairy! I think I might try it and see how it goes! Thanks for all the helpful advice you guys! -

Made these for the first time today and they are amazing! Tasty way to meet your Protein goals for the day! One tip, if they are too dry just keep adding Water to the mix until you get the desired consistency you want. http://www.ehow.com/way_5494991_easy-high-protein-bar-recipe.html

I seem to have a harder time eating when I'm on my period, like it seems more uncomfortable to eat than usual. Anyone else experience this?

I have the Ninja pulse, and use it all the time. Except last week while making low carb bread crumbs the motor started making a funny noise. Customer service is great though. Call their 1800 number and they basically take down your name and number and ship you the things you need no questions asked.

High Protein Bars That Are Sooo Good!
Michelle Wolfe replied to Michelle Wolfe's topic in Vegetarian, vegan, raw foods
No problem sleevedreamer! And thanks for figuring out the carbs for me Lisa! Since surgery I have been trying to find recipes I can modify to make them low carb or recipes that have lots of protein, so if I find anymore yummy recipes that turn out, I'll keep everyone posted. -
High Protein Bars That Are Sooo Good!
Michelle Wolfe replied to Michelle Wolfe's topic in Vegetarian, vegan, raw foods
Honestly I'm not sure on the carbs, the recipe says 300 calories and 24 grams of protein per bar. I'll have to try and figure out the carbs. -
High Protein Bars That Are Sooo Good!
Michelle Wolfe replied to Michelle Wolfe's topic in Vegetarian, vegan, raw foods
Yes, I put them in the fridge. I havent tried freezing them since I just made them today, but that is a great idea! I ended up rolling mine into balls and putting them in a muffin tin and it made 12. I was a little worried about the recipe since it contains cottage cheese, and I hate cottage cheese. Good news is you can't taste it at all, just adds more protein to the recipe! -
