Yes I had surgery 9/30 lost 30 lbs gained back 5 I've had a lot of family events and gained back 5 my fill is in a wk. Hang in there.

I was wondering can I have tomato basil soup on clear liquids? Tomorrow I go to Thicker liquids. I also feel scared that I'm not drinking enough I get dizzy, and hungry and right now it's hard to tell the difference between being gassy and hungry. I had surgery on 9/30 can't wait to be able to taste mash potatoes. Does anyone get their mashed potatoes from a fast food place like Churches, KFC or Popeyes?

I'm on the liquid diet and I'm really gassy. Mind don't smell however which is really surprising I thought it's because I'm not eating any food. I hope it goes away I'm also afraid of going to work and having to fart and not being able too. I go back to work tomorrow. Mine are for the most part really quiet maybe I can sneak a couple without anyone noticing. LOL!

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, your one step ahead of me I get banded tomorrow. I was wondering when did you first feel pain? Was it right after you woke up? How would you rate the pain from a scale from 1-10? Well I wish you a speedy recovery please keep us updated.

Thanks for the responses everyone. The Dr said I don't have to wear it if I don't have it. They're going to keep me in observation over night though.

Do you know if it's necessary to wear the CPAP machine in order to have the Lap Band? No one has mentioned it yet, but I brought it to my Dr's attn that I have a mild case of Sleep Apnea, and he wanted me to check if I needed it. I really don't want to get one I don't feel I'm going to use it. Any thoughts on this?

Has anyone ever had surgery without it? I only found out I had a mild case of Sleep Apnea but no one ever called to say I needed to have the mask or machine for surgery they called me for the prescription but, my phone broke and they never called back. The Dr didnt really say I had to have it to have the surgery done.

Help me please! I'm sure this discussion has been covered before, but I need opinions on Protein shakes about to start my post-op diet. I hate anything that has that "Diet" taste. I can tolerate "SugarFree" a little more jello's and such, but I'd like to know what you think the best tasting protein shake? I'm into anything fruity Strawberries, stuff like that. Also what should a grocery list look like what would you recommend? Thanks

Wow! That's a lot of different options had no idea there could be so many are these acceptable during Pre-op diet as well? I will definitely keep you filled in since I'm confident I'm in the home stretch now and probably due to have surgery in the next 2 wks!!! Thanks Cindi I will also keep that in mind because I'm dreading the shake part because of the fear of having to drink something that tastes so nasty.

LOL that makes sense so glad that I'm not alone. Well can't wait to get the show on the road. I'm feeling much more confident now that it's been approved. Now it's just a matter of scheduling the date with West Houston. Do you have any recommendations on shakes, I hate that "Diet" taste and looking for some insight on a good shake. Do you know if GMC is the place that lets you try them before you buy? Keep me updated on your progress. Wondering if anyone gained weight prior to starting their Pre-Op Diet? I'm feeling so unmotivated, and have gained 2 lbs before the Pre-Op Diet. I'm supposed to begin the liquid diet this Friday, but have lost my motivation. Any thoughts

Glad to hear your doing well! After you were approved did you get to choose the date of your surgery or do they assign you a date? I'm having my surgery done by Dr. Reilly as well.
