I have "finally" decided to get surgical help with my weight. Actually Kaiser sort of forced me into it when they refused to do a total knee replacement on me due to my BMI being 40. They said I had to bring it down to 35. Well at my age (68) if I could have done that, I would have done it long ago. I live alone and have been very sedentary for years medicating myself with "feel good" foods. Uhm, looks like my life is about to change BIG TIME. I've already been approved for the surgery, and am going through the pre-surgery tests now. Yes, I'm scared a bit .. OK a tad more than a bit! But I'm also looking forward to not carring around an excess 100 lbs or so.
