  1. Hi everyone - Yesterday was the beginning of week 2 after having the VSG with Dr. Kelly. This is what I ate today: - V8 Fruit Explosion - Individual can - Some Water - 1/2 cup tomato Soup - 1/2/ cup brocolli soup (strained) - Not quite a half cup of greek yogurt - Jello - Not quite 1/2 cup oatmeal with milk like soup - Some Isopure - which I loath Am I doing ok here? I am not getting enough Protein - I know that but the protein I have although soy based and can be made with water, tastes not the greatest unless I put part of a frozen banana in it. Can you give me your thoughts on my diet today? Good or not, is welcome. Thanks SO much :-)
  2. Hi everyone - It's been one week today since I had my VSG with Dr. Kelly.. Thank you all for your encouragement and support - I woke up!! Recovery for me went well, I didn't vomit nor was i very nauseated. My friend had the opposite experience, I felt bad for her. The overall experience was very good. The team at the hospital were fantastic, they truly have some excellent nurses there. The after care when we went to the hotel was awe striking. Not ever has my doctor come to see how I was doing and he did that all three days. We were fortunate enough to also meet his family as well as meet and speak to Dr. Romero for a while. Since I've been home I'm doing ok and have received two follow up calls as well as some emails. It's good to know and see there is ongoing support.. Since home,I feel somewhat sluggish, with little energy and when I wake up each morning, I feel week and a tad nauseus. Is this normal? I also sometimes get a pain on my left side and I assume it is gas. Is it? I was told that the gas should only last a week and today is a week. Any cause for concern here? I've been on liquids since the pre-op and struggling a little. I have absolutely no hunger and not sure I'm taking in enoug h Water. Any advice on how to get through the next six weeks. The head hunger has struck and I battle with that as my mind tells me I should be eating. I know I'll get throgh this and know it is temporary. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks Shelley

Thank you ladies SO much for the words of encouragement! i really appreciate it. Did you both go to Dr. Kelly?
  4. Hello everyone - I am new to this website although I have been reviewing it for a while now. My friend and I are going for our VSG on Saturday - yes three days away with Dr. Kelly in Tijuana Mexico. While my friend is excited, I'm nervous and have anxiety! I want to be sure I wake up. I know it may sound silly and I need reassurance that all will go well. I have not told ANYONE in my family as I feel that will just add to the stress and know they will tell me I look fine. I carry weight well although, I want 50-60 pounds gone forever! I'm excited for the end results, I guess just getting there is a little daunting. Any thoughts, insights that you can give me, is SO appreciated. Warm Thanks Shelley
