I'm getting sleeved in Novemeber in Mexico. Are there any support meetings around here other than ones from your doctors office?

Mine is November 4th in Tijuana with Dr. Kelly. Anyone else gonna be the same time? I would love to have a surgery buddy even though I have family going with me.

Where are you having yours done? Mine is Nov. 4th in Mexico, Dr. Kelly. Yours is the closest date to mine I have seen so far. We should be going through the same stuff together!

I'm having my surgery in November so I can't say from experience yet but I worry about going back to work after just 1 week because a lot of people talk about being so tired. I would hate to see you leave school so maybe they can work out the eating schedule for you and hopefully you wont be too tired to stay awake in class. Good luck to you and just be very careful after surgery about eating and drinking the way your doctor tells you to. I wish you the best.

My surgery with Dr. Kelly is Nov. 4th and I will be leaving the hotel on the 8th so I will probably just miss you. I was hoping to find someone there the same time to know ahead of time. Good luck and a speedy recovery for both of us.

My friends and family all know I am going to Mexico for the surgery. That's just the kind of person I am, very open and honest. I don't hide anything. My dad is nervous about it being done in Mexico so he is going with me. He said he talked to his doctor about it yesterday, he is very overweight and having some health problems now. She talked to him about the pros and cons and he wants to wait and see how my surgery and progress goes before he decides to have it done. My dad was always super skinny when he was younger and this weight gain is really getting him down so I think he's hoping it works well for me. That just motivates me even more knowing he will be watching me.

I would just see how the evening goes and if you feel comfortable then tell him and if not than wait and see. But be forewarned, I was on a dating site and guys can seem so wonderful and perfect in emails and then on the phone or in person they are a whole other story. But the good news is I met my current boyfriend of almost 4 years on that site and he is very sweet and caring. He doesn't want me to get the sleeve and wont go to Mexico with me but is other wise a great guy that would do anything for me.

I used to own a smoothy bar in a gym and I worked out on the treadclimber everyday. I loved it, it was my favorite piece of equipment. A lot of gyms stopped having them because they broke down a lot and are expensive to fix. But if you had one at home I think it would last a long time because there aren't 30 people a day on it, just you. You burn twice the calories and it isn't any harder than a treadmill which I can't do cuz I get bored on one. Hope that helps.

Shrinking the liver makes sense, if you've watched the surgery online you can see they lift the liver up out of the way to operate on the stomach. I watched it 5 times, I was that fascinated.

I know how you feel. I just scheduled my surgery for Nov. 4th in Mexico. It's very exciting. I can't wait to get started.

Why were you in the hospital, if you don't mind my asking? And where did you have your sleeve done?

I'm going to Dr. Kelly in November. How did everything go for you? I'm nervous of course but very excited also.

My mom also was diabetic as well as my grandmother and my aunt, who were all overweight as well. My mom has been gone 3 years this December and I know she would have been super excited for me to have this surgery. I can't wait to have it done and hopefully prevent being diabetic myself.

That is so awesome. I'm happy for you. My oldest daughter is accepting it. My boyfriend still wont go. He says he just can't be there if something goes wrong. But I have my middle daughter and my dad going so I will be in good hands.

My boyfriend and oldest daughter are not supportive either. My middle daughter is going to Mexico with me along with my dad who is very worried. My oldest thinks you can just diet and exercise and lose the weight with no problem. They just don't understand. My boyfriend is worried also and doesn't think I'm fat. He's super skinny and doesn't understand being overweight. They will come around and be happy for you when you look and feel great later.

I've been worried about this too. I have small deep veins that roll. I'm getting all the tests done the day before while I can still drink and not be all day without anything to drink after flying to San Diego from Kansas City.

I drink about 3 cups each moring (6 according to the coffe pot) and 1 to 2 diet cokes a day. I am dreading the day I have to quit. I can't even imagine. I know I should do it now but I figure I have until atleast mid October before I have to quit. I think I'll enjoy it while I can.

I wish I was at the same time. I'm going to Dr. Kelly on Nov 4th I think. The date isn't set in stone but I'm getting ready to make the deposit. My boyfriend wont go so my daughter and my dad are going. If you were there the same time we would adopt you as ours.

Just wondering if you had this done in the U.S. or Mexico?
