In March 2010... Idk why but i started looking on youtube for wls results and came across this girl who had the lap band done.
I was instantly hooked. she was 1 year and 2 months post op and she looked great. My mom was a bit on the "you can do it w/o surgery side"
About 6 weeks later, I found out I was pregnant.
I was very emotional, still in college, hated my job, lived with my mom, felt fat, and my bf was in denial of my pregnancy.
I believe things happen for a reason.
(June) I miscarried at 8 weeks. I was sad. My doctor said it could have been anything including my weight which i was 252lbs at the time. I was determine to get the surgery.
My GYN referred me to St. Lukes hospital. With work, it was barely possible to make doctors appointments, but i managed to attend orientation. (July)
My orientation was good, didn't learn much because i had already done my research but it was good.
I couldn't stay to meet the surgeon because I had to go to work, When I was rescheduling my appointment the lady told me to switch to Metro plus... which someone told me was health first because they are fast, don't have many requirements and its easy to get approved. I had affinity at the time.
A month later I went to an orientation at Lenox Hill. After the orientation they told me they didn't take my insurance.
I waited all the way until January to renew my insurance.
2011 came and I lost my ambition despite the change of insurance.
I wasn't feeling anything... i just got lazy and gained 8lbs. I was at 260lbs... reached 262lbs.
On April I was chatting with a friend and I was telling him how I had no motivation to lose weight. Well... that conversation motivated... he told me to stop drinking soda and I did.
Made some changes in what I ate and by August I was 242lbs..
I did my seminar online for Columbia Presbyterain..
My first appointment was scheduled for Oct 2011.... then postponed by them to November 2011... then the end of November 2011.... and then for December 9, 2012 and one last time to December 12, 2012... (my 22nd Birthday)
During my visit I weighed 245... i was told i needed the 6 months later... my PCP at the time wasn't really supportive so it through me off completely.
I got lazy again... didn't do any of my visits.
On April.... I was hit with Motivation again (lol it always happens in April lol) and I changed my PCP
The new PCP was 100% supportive.
