Going to Dominican Republic for plastic surgery
beba238 replied to miiszsexy171's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Where in Dr is she in? I might go see Dr. Jesus Abreu or Dr. Donald Roland who promotes a lot in DR but does his surgeries in NYC.. and One of my moms friends got consulted by a doctor here who gave her an appointment to get her stuff done in DR. Can you go into details on what your getting done? I still don't speak -plastics lol -

I'm so sorry your going through this. The site can make everything seem like rainbows and butterflies at times. I am 2 weeks post today and already been stalled for more than a week. I am a little sad and trying not to be discouraged. My moms friend was in a stall similar to yours. She gave up on being anal about everything and just went about her life and a month later she had a nsv when she went to buy an outfit for some event. Turns out she was losing it all in inches during that time. She was scared to weigh herself but a week later when she got in the scale she was 8lbs down. Her stall was like 6 weeks after surgery. I guess it happened when she stopped stressing it. Take down your measurements and am so sure your going through the same thing. and 42lbs is great CONGRATS. During that time she was only down 22lbs down. I hope it gets better. Your doc might have some good tips for you. Good Luck and please don't avoid us! This is why we are all here for the good, the bad, answers, questions, concerns, etc. GOOD LUCK AGAIN please keep me posted.

As long as you sip the wine afterwards to make it moist. And just chew chew chew. But at three weeks it shouldn't be that much of an issue. Just have a little bottle of water in your purse just in case because sometimes it can be very dry. Good Luck! -
I am 2 weeks post and that is exactly how i felt from the moment i woke up from surgery up to a few days ago. I made so much research and many posts on the forum make it seem like the surgery is a walk in the park and it is actually harder than I thought. I am feeling MUCH better than last week when i used to tell myself WTF did i just get myself into. Give it another week. Everyday is a working progress. I work two jobs and i am not used to being home. It is difficult because i'm going to sleep late, watching crappy TV and i start thinking too much. I stopped the pain meds because they make me feel like crap. Its difficult to find good food to puree and i can not stand Protein shakes, my chewable Vitamins are disgusting and so is my liquid Calcium. Not to mention i got over emotional last weekend over absolutely nothing. HOWEVER I'm down almost 20lbs... (haven't checked since last week), i have to wear belts with my pants and someone noticed my weight loss which seriously caught me off guard. It doesn't matter what method you use to lose weight it will always be a challenge. As someone who was in your shoes a few days ago i can tell you to hang in there that it is slowly getting better. Good Luck!!!

How long did you research before you booked surgery
beba238 replied to JosieMac's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
2 years of lap band... decided on Sleeve so almost 1 yr 1/2 but in between getting all pre-op exams done and other thigns that got in the way. But no research we do will actually prepare us for the actual thing but having the knowledge before hand definitely helps. I am almost 2 weeks post op and i am happy i made this decision. -

Weepy Emotional Mess
beba238 replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sister told me she was on her way to her bf's house last night and i burst out crying like if she had just given me terrible news. I felt so guilty cuz she stayed. I even sent my bf a nasty text. I guess i'm just looking for a little attn maybe? I cried the morning of my surgery when 2 co-workers called to say a quick prayer. Then i started tearing when a nurse came in to get my vital signs and then started secretly crying when i was walking away from my family. This is an emotional battle for everyone and i feel like it is normal. Our body is going through a major change. Don't worry it happens to the best of us!!! -
I know it sounds stupid. I am 12 days out and i was exhausted the first few days all i wanted to do is sleep, but i went out and walked walked walked. It helped me feel less tired and i was able to come home and sleep without any issues. If you can get out and walk for at least 30 - 45 minutes per day you should it will help. Get as much rest as you can throughout the day. I still feel tired but the walking helped a lot. I am still waiting for that BURST of energy everyone talks about after surgery lol. Good Luck!

Walk walk walk walk walk. Tomorrow. Wake up. Go to the mall or any place where you can window shop. AND WALK. I felt the same way your feeling and i walked around Walmart for like 1 hour and then bj's for another hour and the next day i felt so good. And as time went on i kept walking a little here and there. I kinda also had the same issue that every time i tried to eat i wanted to burp and i would try to force it but nothing happened. Its like acid reflux so get chewable tablets like prilosec.

Surgery in 2 days! Wish me luck please
beba238 replied to kari61's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good Luck and speedy recovery. My advice to you is as soon as you get the OKAY to move around after surgery, start walking. Walk walk walk around the hospital halls. BELIEVE ME It will help you recover faster. Good Luck!!! -
You can eat the beans... just mush the bean and make it soupy.
-
KEEP CALM... You will be okay. The good thing is that you went to the hospital and they know what they are doing and they will take care of you. You'll be fine. Keep us posted. Good Luck!

you should go to the ER if if continues or contact your doctor. There is always a doctor on call after hours/weekends and holidays so call now if you can. Good Luck!

Has anyone taken "HYDROXYCUT" after VSG surgery?
beba238 replied to baseballmom02's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I don't think this is a good idea. I drank it years ago and felt like i was going to pass out the way my heart was pumping. Yes i lost a few lbs but as soon as i stopped i gained it all back and more in very little time. It doesn't work. I suggest you speak to the NUT or your doctor. -
Agarra una liquadora.. grab a little bit of everything and puree the hell out of it.. lol

lillatinmomie, how did you like Jacobi?

changes no one talks about.
beba238 replied to Seanja's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your tummy is still numb from everything. It will take a few weeks before it heals completely. Give it time to heal. I rather be happy, healthy and skinny versus feeling my belly button. I opened this thinking i was gonna read about a 3rd nipple popping out of somewhere lmfao. Embrace the good changes and stop looking for the bad. Just like @NancyDec20... Look for non scale victories. Like jeans you couldn't get into 2 weeks ago. I'm almost 2 weeks out and i got my hair done today took a pic with the bf and compared it to one i took 2 weeks before Surgery. Things like this will give you motivation but if you stay at home wondering why your belly button is so deep and start looking for other defects you'll just bring yourself down and won't be able to focus on the original reason why you got sleeved. Good Luck and keep your head up!!! Forget about your belly button for now and embrace the new you!!!! -
"You really think so? I've been working out here and there and eating differently." And when they ask Whats the secret you pretend like you have the ultimate tip and say shhh don't tell anyone... diet and exercise lol
