Confused! Please Help!
beba238 replied to desteneys's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
regardless of what you get you need to forget about your sweet tooth and make it a veggie tooth lol. I'm getting the sleeve becuase i dont want to lose too much weight. I only weigh 245... well now more like 250 because of the holidays. Also because Gastirc Bypasss if more MAJOR than the Sleeve. I chose the sleeve over the band. Don't base your decision on having a sweet tooth because if you get the sleeve thinking you can still eat sweets like you do now you'll gain all the weight back or won;t lose any like a friend of mine did. This is almost 4 years of research i've been doing. Read more on Sleeve vs bypass and compare Vitamin inefficiency, re-cooperation time, success stories and on success stories, side effects and the risks. Good Luck!!!! -
if you don't mind me asking... was your surgery a factor in your divorce?
-
lol... I'm currently pre-op... my doctor told me my hormones will be all over the place. Just make sure you use protection because that's why a lot of women end up preggo right after surgery ... i'm glad your relationship is going strong lol... good luck!

Someone Advised Me Against The Surgery Today...
beba238 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went to a consultation at some fitness/herbal place that helps with different things like weight loss, toning the skin, body modification, acne, etc. Anyways i heard that they do pre-op detoxing to help surgery recuperation and they do different treatments post op. The lady who consulted me had some nerve to tell me not to do it. That I will regret it. That everyone that she knows whose done it has suffered. That I will only lose 50lbs with the sleeve and that most likely i'll gain it right back. I'm like wtfudge? She tried to convince me out the surgery telling me that I should just do a 3 month package for $1750 that will help me lose weight. And that she advises me to do it for a year... SERIOUSLY???????? At this point its all about the money for them. I feel like people will keep doing this. Has anyone else experienced something similar? And what was your reaction? Thanks! -

Lmfao seriously!!!!!! -
Good luck... it took me two years to actually think about it. And i'm finally done. Tomorrow I will submit all my paperwork. Hopefully I get approved. On my first visit I weighed 245lbs and now I weigh 255lbs. People told me the same thing, your not that big or do it on your own, but they don't know the struggles we have for years. And plus they are the same people that will tell us we look great when we start to lose the weight. I wish you the best of luck!!!!

Someone Advised Me Against The Surgery Today...
beba238 replied to beba238's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you. People like to put their 2 cents in. That's why i have avoided telling people. They do not know our struggle. She didn't know that the same things she wanted me to do I have done in the past. Yes I lost weight successfully but it came back on with more. Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate it! Good Luck! -

nice outfits without a girdle!!!!!! -
I've been with my guy for almost 5 years. I'm terrified that when it comes to being intimate, my excess skin will be a problem or he'll be turned off by it. Also first dates is not about going out to eat. You can do a lot of fun stuff like bowling, movies, skating etc. By the time your on your 3rd or 4th date, you'll be able to eat like normal ppl lol. And when you go to dinner make a smart choice on what your going to order THINK not only that you've been sleeved and you don't want to lose weight but you want to stay away from food that will make you sick or give you bad breath. Good Luck!

Soon To Be Sleevers With Big Dogs
beba238 replied to KatieOkieDokie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Buy his favorite treats, and start training him by saying no when he tries to jump or lay on you. This is something to ask your doctor and your dogs vet. I have a pomchi who likes to sleep on top of the pillow over my moms head and when she hears anything or someone knocks she jumps on top of her on pull speed to jump off the bed. When my mom had surgery on her shoulder/arm she laid next to my mom and sniffed and licked the wound. She knew something was wrong so she was very low key. Of course now that my mom is all better she's back to normal lol. Good Luck! -
Where To Start In The Surgery Process?
beba238 replied to Mini Me Wanna~Be's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every place is different. It all depends on the doctor, your insurance, and medical history. I know a couple of people that have gone to several offices at a time to see which place gives them less exams or has less office time meaning they won't be waiting 3 weeks for an appointment. -
yaaaaaaa congrats!!!!!

Pregnant And 11 Wks Post Vsg
beba238 replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off congrats... second i know a couple of people who became preggo after surgery... one lost weight after she gave birth the other lost but then gained... but she wasn't eating the right things (she hides recess cups, butterfingers, snickers, etc under her bed). For now just worry about being healthy for you and your baby. There are a lot of posts on here of women who've gotten preggo a few weeks post op. LASTLY, DONT BE SCARED... doctors tend to put fear on us but remember science only goes so far.... This happens everyday so just seek advice from those who've gone through and try tp do as your gyn and doc and surgeon tell you and CONGRATS!!!!! Hope you can sue that IUD company!!!! I think i'll stick to the pill lol... remember things happen for a reason! Good Luck! -
Try eating 6 times a day... 7 am Big Breakfast 9 30 Snack 12 00pm BIG lunch ex: Large chicken salad and a Soup on the side 3 pm Snack 6 pm dineer 9 pm (1 hour b4 bedtime) snack ex: Yogurt Snacks can be: zip lock bag with 2 hand fulls of your favorite Cereal and grapes or berries, etc oatmeal Cookies fruits 1 sliced apple with a little honey on top hummus yogurt... plain or add grains, oats, granola, fruit, (whatever you like) peanuts popcorn (no butter or salt) Eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours will keep your body full and will make your brain realize that your eating all the time. This way you have snacks in between all ur meals... also if your going to eat something fatty like carbs eat it at lunch time because (assuming that you won't be laying down all day) your body will burn lunch as the day goes by. Good Luck! and hope this helps!

I'm not sure if this is wrong but I've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years and he knows I've been looking into surgery but he doesn't know that I'm currently doing all the pre op exams for surgery. To be honest m sure he'll support me 100% but I've been thinking of telling him the day before the surgery or maybe not telling him at all. We dont live together. Anyone pre or post op facing or faced a similar situation. Please give me your opinion. Thanks!

Hey everyone!!! Thank you so much for giving me some piece of mind. After positing I realized (after reading what I wrote in my head) how stupid that would be. I read everything you guys had to say and THANK YOU for not criticizing me. About 4 nights ago my honey and I were coming back home from the movies and I told him that I wanted to get the surgery done, (including that I was kinda thinking of not telling him until days before or not at all) Told him how I felt about people knowing my business and how i rather tell them in my own time, told him that I've done most of my exams, and my concerns about the whole surgery.... He's wonderful. He told me he's 100% on board and that he will be there every step of the way, even told me that if my insurance doesn't cover it I can get it done with his insurance when we get married. Surprisingly, he actually talked to me about it... i thought he'd be like "ok thats cool... want to go grab a shake?," or something to avoid the conversation but we talked and it felt good. I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO TELL THE PEOPLE THAT THEY LOVE AND KNOW THAT WILL SUPPORT THEM. He told me he'll always love me no matter what... I'm glad u told him! I wouldn't have had the courage w/o you guys!!! so THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And good luck to you all!!!!!!
