Kidney infection, gallstones and pancreatitis.....surgery to remove my gallbladder tomorrow.

The same. Still in pain.

I haven't eaten. She offered to completely unfill it but there was no sign of anything being stuck so I said no. I have been stuck before but it felt nothing like this. Maybe this is stuck in a different place. Who knows. I cannot breath without feeling like I am being stabbed. I can't get comfortable and it is driving me crazy! Thanks for your response.

So I was sitting at work today, I had just ate and walked back to the office, when all of the sudden it felt like someone stabbed me in the stomach (in the area of my band). I started sweating and having to gasp for breath. I immediately called my band doctor. They had closed for the day but she told me to come immediately and she would see what was going on. I made it to the office after having to stop and try and throw up a few times. We went back to the room and within minutes I was running to the bathroom to gag. Nothing came up at this point or before. I have 2.6 cc's and she immediately took out 2. She said nothing was stuck and had me drink to see that the band was in place and the liquid went through fine. She then replaced 1 cc...taking me to 1.6. She said it seemed like I was having spasms. She called in a medication for that and the nausea. It is now 7 hours later and I am still gagging and actually puking and in horrible pain. I have talked to her 3 times and she is not sure what is going on. I told her I was too dizzy to drive the hour back down there this evening and would just see if it got better. She said she would call in the morning to check on me. I had surgery 9/5 and have done just fine until now. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I have no idea what to do.

I was bloated/swollen for about 2 weeks. I actually gained 6 lbs from the morning of surgery to two days later and three inches on my stomach. It was all gone at the end of two weeks with a few extra pounds.

I am 3 months post op and unless I really chew, I still struggle with hard boiled eggs. I only have 1.6cc's in my band.

Thank you all for the encouraging words.

I was not hungry at all until at least 6 weeks. I went ahead with my first fill. It was only 1cc, so it wasn't much restriction. My doctor only does fills every 4 -6 weeks so putting off the first would really slow progress. The "not hungry feeling" will go away for most people, so I would go ahead with the fill.

I was self-pay. It really depends on the surgeon. Mine had things he still required so I had to get in to do those things and then find a date that he had available to do the surgery. From visit to surgery was about 2 months.

Mine was bad for about 2 weeks....now 2 months post op I am about back to normal. My stomach does still growl about every three days or so and it is pretty loud, but I just ignore it.

No, but I'm in. Do you have to do them all at the same time, or can you split it up? Those are a scary amount of squats, but I know they are good for you!

I started my preop diet on 8/22 so from that date it has been 42 lbs.

Almost 2 months to the day of surgery I got the word that my sugar levels are good enough to stop taking the 2000 mg a day of metformin. So happy about that. I was also told that I no longer needed to take my nexium. So here I am just taking birth control as happy as I can be!

I still only have 1 cc....starting to eat a little too much. Hoping next fill will help.

Well four days in the hospital. Feeling ok but pretty irritated that it took this long to figure out the problem. Looking back I have had gallbladder issues for quite awhile and they could never figure it out. Guess I am happy it is finally resolved. My only issue now it the foods you are supposed to eat with the band (protein and veg) is the opposite of what the doctor told me to eat once the gallbladder is gone (breads, pastas, and stay away from protein). Anyone have a solution?
