    Missing eating

OMG! You are sooo funny! I never even thought about doing that! Seems GENIUS to me! LOL!
  3. Thanks soooo much! I will keep in touch! God bless.

  4. Yep! I am getting a little nervous now....how are you? I don't even have much of an appetite now...I am ready, but scared of the unknown, I guess!

  5. So glad you are home and recovering. I have one question.....what do you mean you were having a little trouble peeing? Was it irritation from the catheter, you think? Did the Dr. say that was normal?
  6. So happy to hear you are up and about! I am having my surgery on Monday morning. I wish you all the best and success! Keep in touch! Cay
  7. My surgery is on Mon. Aug. 22 and I feel the EXACT same way as you feel. I am scared, happy, excited, and yet I want to cry.....I think maybe in my case, it is because NO ONE in my family seems to really understand what I have been and AM going through...I feel so alone sometimes.....and that makes me sad! )I guess that is why I come to this site so often) Good luck to you....please keep in touch! Cay

    AVATAR

Please delete this....It was a mistake.
  9. I have been on a low carb diet now since late June (when I was first diagnosed with Type II diabetes), and now I start my second week of NO CARB, high protein diet. The first week I at least was allowed some fruit, but now, no more fruit even until after surgery. I am really not complaining, because I want to make the surgery as easy for my surgeon as possible, but I am SO sick of dieting!

  10. My pre-op RN/seminar speaker said EVERYONE that has the VSG loses their hair at 3 to 6 months post-op. Is this true? What did you do to prevent it besides taking vitamins if you did not lose any hair? Please HELP! I JUST started getting my hair in and back to normal from my chemotherapy for breast cancer two years ago. I really don't want to have to wear the WIG again!
  11. I started on my pre-op diet on Monday. My doctor and nutritionist don't make us go on liquids only, but we can only have Protein and certain carb-less veggies and a little fruit in the first week only. I drink a Protein shake for Breakfast...and so far it isn't too bad....I'll tell you how I feel in another week or so....HA HA HA....getting closer....August 22 here we come!
  12. Thanks so much for responding. Congratulations on your weight loss so far! Way to go!! keep up the good work. Cay
  13. Thanks so much for your response. the article was very helpful! Thanks so much, again. Cay
  14. Thanks so much for your comments. You seem to have been around the same size as me and I just WISH and HOPE to achieve the weight loss you have. My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 22 and I am getting increasingly anxious for many reasons. I cannot even really IMAGINE being under 200 lbs. much less reaching my goal of 170-180 lbs. But when I see someone like you and your great success.....I have some hope to cling to. Thanks again...I will follow your progress! God bless! Cay
  15. I am feeling MUCH better every time I read someone who DIDN'T lose hair.....There is something to be said for having "rose-colored glasses"!!! LOL! Thanks!
  16. I assume you were faithfully taking all of your Vitamins and Vitamin supplements.....Did you also take Biotin? If so, how many mgs and when did you start taking it?
  17. Have you had your surgery yet? If so, when?
  18. Thanks so much for the answer. I agree that I wouldn't trade that big of a weight loss for the loss of hair....I just hope I don't lose it ALL! HA HA....but WHAT-EVAH! Been there before...done that! LOL! Thanks again!
  19. Hi...My name is Cay and my Dr. scheduled my sleeve gastrectomy today for August 22. I am doing OK, but I am here to gain as much "first hand" knowledge I can about the before, during and after surgery stuff. I live in Morgan City, LA (About an hour outside of New Orleans......yes, Swamp People is taped right in my back yard! LOL!) My insurance will not pay a penny for bariatric surgery, so I must pay $12,000.00 for this procedure and I have decided to forget about the money and concentrate on how much I will be able to enjoy life when I am done. I am a recent breast cancer survivor, being diagnosed in January 2009. I received a lumpectomy, port surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and now am gratefully cancer-free so far. It will be two years cancer-free in December. I learned through that journey that whatever time we all have left, we should live it to the fullest! I will pray for all of you to have successful experiences with your surgery. Please pray for me also!
  20. Thanks so much! I will keep in touch. Cay

  22. Thanks so much! Keep in touch. We need to share our journies together. Cay
  23. Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. I totally agree with everything you are saying. I FINALLY decided to take care of myself and MY needs for a change. I DO feel like I will be "freeing" myself from the fat after 30 years. It is about DAMN time! LOL! Cay o
