Hi - I'm a Christian wife and stay at home mom to four kiddos. I've been overweight ever since getting married over 10 yrs ago and especially since having my first child 9 yrs ago. I continued to put baby weight on top of baby weight as I had three more children. I've done numerous diets and tactics to lose weight. Mostly I was successful in taking some off but never getting down to a healthy weight. I would stop for whatever reason and gain it all back then some. I have thought about WLS for a while but never mentioned it to anyone, including my husband. I finally decided after doing lots of research that lap band surgery was the way I was going to go. I got all my info in order before presenting it to him. Fortunately, he was supportive. At my consultation I had a BMI of just over 40, which means my insurance should agree to it. I was asked by my surgeon and dietian to lose 10 lbs, which I was dedicated to do and had accomplished within 3 weeks by limiting my calories and exercising everyday. I am so excited to be doing this and feel I'm informed and prepared for the surgery, but still have lots of fear that my insurance may not approve because I was just over the 40 BMI requirement. I look for to this journey to lap band surgery that I am on!!
Surgery went well and I can't wait to heal up, get to working out, and losing this weight. I'm so very blessed!
