I am back to my lowest weight! I had gained a couple of pounds and kept it on for a few weeks but its gone now and I hope it stays away! I am going to really try hard to reach my goal of being under 140 by my birthday!
-
I have been stalled now for about 6 weeks. I am sooooo close to my goal. I am only 12 pounds away but I cant seem to break out of these bad habits I developed. I was on vacation last week and found myself eating with everyone else. Cookies, chips, JUNK. I really dont want to not make goal and then not be able to maintain it either. I am about a pound away from a normal BMI now but that is not my personal goal. I could change my goal and say being normal is good enough, but I know in my heart I would feel like i failed or lowered my standard. I need help with finding what works for these last pounds and keeping them off! I cant let myself get this close and not make it!!

I have been on vacation this week and gained two pounds. I am back up to 149. I am discouraged to say the least. However, I am not giving up. I set my goal to lose 5 pounds in this challenge and I want to go out with at least a loss! I am going to do better about junk slider food and drink more water. I think that will help me get back on track. I had to eat a lot of not so healthy food on vacation because thats what there was to eat but I also love chips and cookies and crap so I cant blame it all on that. It was my fault but I also realize that the old me would have gained a lot more than that! I love my sleeve for keeping me under 150 and still in a size 8 comfortably! Whew!

Dr. Alvarez In Mx June 1? Anyone? Looking For A Buddy
Forensikchic posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is anyone having surgery on or around June 1, with Dr. Alvarez? My sister is and I am going with her and we were wondering if there is anyone else who might be there too. I have put this out there a time or two but I get no responses. I hope we are not alone there! -
June Check-In For August 2011 Allstars
Forensikchic replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey guys! I am now 87 pounds down. I am 13 pounds from my goal. I have been stalled at 147 for several weeks but I am still losing a few inches and still plugging away at it. I am a size 6-8 now! My goal is to reach 100 pounds lost and I will get there. These past two months have been slow but it was expected. I have looked into plastics and at my consultation, decided on a belt lipectomy. Its the best for me and my shape. I plan on getting it in November but I am not sure the scheduling will work out. It might have to be a little later due to money and also time off from work. Everyone is doing great!!! So happy for all of us! -
Welcome Matt! You will find this forum a wealth of information for your upcoming surgery and post sleeve life! I love my sleeve and I know you will too! Good luck and feel free to ask questions anytime!

SW 147 CW 147 GW 142 Still no loss. I am in the stall from hell. I just wanted to lose 5 pounds for this challenge and somehow I have not managed to lose a pound. I gained a pound last week but lost it again. Holding steady here at ~147 give or take some ounces. Anyone with any ideas? I have been here for about 3-4 weeks now. I realize I am 10 months out now and the last 10-12 pounds would be slow but this is nonexistent. I go on vacation tomorrow and was sure hoping to be at least a normal weight by then (which is 2 pounds from now).

Before And After Pics - 90 Lbs Down
Forensikchic replied to Pookeyism's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My uncle is an eye doctor and he says that people that lose a lot of weight often dont think about their frames. Frames come in different sizes so they can fit your face. Ever notice how some people get the wrong size and when they take them off, the legs are spralled out? Thats because they are too small. My brothers use to do this. When they are too large for your face, the lenses part is sticking way out past your eyes on each side of your head and the legs seem to go in toward your ears. I noticed that your actual lenses are way out to the side past your actual eyes. Its a beautiful thing! Plus you can get new frames that complement your new hair and your new style! I love shopping for anything! -
Awesome! I love these NSV's! They are what make us truly happy....

Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
Forensikchic replied to SophieJaneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My 13 year old daughter stayed the nights with me. She was good company. My husband was with me during the surgery but once I came to my room, he went home and took care of the kids and brought my daughter back to sleep there with me. He came back the next evening and checked on us, brought my daughter more food, etc and left again after visiting hours. He then came and got us when I was discharged. It worked out great! He would have been on my nerves I think after a while. lol. He handled everything while I recovered, a perfect partnership! -
Will you email it to me @ tammi.sligh@gmail.com... thanks!

4.5 Months Out And Not Doing Well
Forensikchic replied to fitforlife's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You have to restrict your carbs yourself. 1400 is wayyyy to many calories to be taking in. The rule is to eat your protein first. If you follow this rule, you cant hold the carbs after and your calorie intake will be less than 1000 for sure and you will lose weight. The sleeve helps us and is a good tool. Its not magic and it doesn't keep us out of the carbs. We have to follow the rules of the sleeve to be successful. Just think of it this way, once we get to maintenance we can have a bit more carbs and maintain. You have maintained 180 for almost 2 months so you know you can maintain and have some carbs then. Right now you are in the losing phase and its time to put on your big girl panties and start following the rules and cut out those carbs and slider foods! -

".... But You're Not That Big"
Forensikchic replied to cacilluf's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know this feeling all too well. I think the people that say this to us mean well but it hurts just the same. Now that i have lost almost 90 pounds, they say things like "I didnt realize you were that big" or "but you werent that big", etc. Those comments belittle my accomplishments. It makes me feel bad like I didnt deserve this second chance because I hadnt done as much damage to my body as others have or let myself get as large as others did. Its a personal decision to have this tool and to become healthy. I dont care what size you start out, the outcome of living a healthy life is whats important. Whether you have to lose 100 pounds or 200 or 300, it shouldnt matter. The journey to get healthy is the same, we go though the same trials and tribulations and we should not be belittled or made to feel that we dont deserve any help or that our accomplishments are somehow lessened by our starting weight. I have been on a diet for 20 years and if diet and exercise worked by itself, I wouldnt have been 100 pounds overweight and feel yucky all the time. I am proud of my 90 pound loss and I am still working at it to lose the other 12. We should all be supporting each other, not downgrading the ones with less to lose with these hurtful comments, especially at a support group. Everyone should feel supported that we all understand what the others are going through and starting weight should not be a factor. -
My First Week On Self-Imposed Liquid Protein Diet. (Start: 667, Current: 557)
Forensikchic replied to Patrick Curl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job Patrick! You can do this! It gets easier on the liquid diet. I think you are very smart to start it a month out. It will shrink your liver and make it easier to operate on you, less chance of a complicated surgery. You will be so glad you started exercising now. Get all that initial soreness out of the way so you can walk a lot after surgery and recover faster. I am so glad you wrote that about the stair pushups. I never thought of doing that and I cant hardly do one regular one. I have stairs at home and I am going to start doing those! Can you tell me how to start that? How do you choose which stair to start on and do you keep your feet on the bottom or on a stair? Thanks for any advice you could give me on this. I have lost almost 90% of my weight but I am not in shape at all. Thanks again! -
