Update On Patrick
Forensikchic replied to Patrick Curl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So glad you made it to the losers bench. You will be swimming before summers end! Congrats on starting this journey! You are going to rock your sleeve! Woohooo! -
My sister and I both went through this... Phillips milk of magnesia works sometimes without cramping and colase taken in a big dose. I take three colase and in an hour, I am going. My surgeon suggested I take mineral oil. I could not stomach this but you might want to try if its really bad. HTH. I would try the milk of magnesia first though.

Wow.. what a narcissistic bunch you work with. I would just tell them you are doing it for you and its highly presumptive on their part to even think they had anything to do with it. Sorry you have to deal with these people. I know that whatever you say wont be enough and sometimes it feels better to just stay quiet and let them think what they will. I never have the nerve to say anything to rude people either. Maybe you could do a reverse psychology thing on them and say.. Yes, you all are exactly right.. Im tired of being the fat one and so I figured I would pass the torch to yall and live a healthy life from now on. If you have a problem being the fat one, then I suggest you look into ways of solving YOUR weight issues.

Its most likely gas pains. It will go away. Try gasx strips and walking.. that cures it most of the time. -
Andrew Lessman - Vitamin Help!
Forensikchic replied to Amyl219's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could take capsules from day 1. As a matter of fact, my acid reducer is a large capsule. You will be able to swallow capsules just fine, they will dissolve just like they are supposed to. Everyone is different so you should ask your surgeon if the vitamin capsules are still okay to use. You dont HAVE to do chewables or liquids or crush pills unless your Dr. says you do. Mine didnt, he said capsules are fine. -
Just Got Surgery Date Of July 25Th!
Forensikchic replied to Jlewis229's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may not be singing the "lucky" song after two bottles of magnesium citrate! Talk about misery in a bottle, let alone two! Be sure you have plenty of Charmin! You will need to replace your liquids too so you wont be dehydrated from all that "squirtle" for lack of a better term. Good luck with your surgery! -

I am getting that lbl this winter.. I am scared of the pain. How bad was it for her? -
I as worried about the pain too. I figured I would be one of the stand out stories of horrid pain. I consulted a friend who had the surgery and asked him about his pain level. His response was "its a non-issue" I had no pain really at all and you are worrying needlessly. You will see... its not a painful surgery. Boy was he right! I was so happy to find out that i could walk up and down the halls and I was just a little sore. No need for pain meds after the first day really. Dont let the horror stories get you down. There are a few people who have pain after but I think they are the overwhelming minority! Who knows what there pain threshold is? If you have had a csection you will be like "what? thats it?" Why was I even worried about this??" Good luck to you.
-
I have had two c-sections.. the first much worse than the second. I have also had my gall bladder out. The sleeve for me was waaaay easier than the gall bladder and that was wwaaaayyy easier then either c section. Pain after surgery is a non issue for most people. I took no pain meds at all after day 2. You will be a little sore but thats about it, no excruciating pain. That was my experience.

Swimsuit Comparison Pics! Brave, I Know!

I have had small stalls during the process and I am currently in a "real" one. I have been the same weight for a month. I have lost a few inches though so dont count me out yet! Our starting weights are similar, everyone is a little different, but I think you can expect the same type results! How tall are you? Im 5' 4". I am looking into a lower body lift at the end of the year. My thighs are very loose and what fat I have left on my abdomen is just skin! I want it off so I can have a flat tummy! -
How Do You Define A Stall?
Forensikchic replied to VACookey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used to consider not losing one week a stall but now that i am almost 11 months out.. I have not lost a pound in 5 weeks! That is a stall for sure. I have gone up and down 2 pounds the whole time. I am still eating the same as I was except for one week vacation and I have now returned to my lowest weight this week but its not lower than four Mondays ago. I am feeling a little depressive about it but I know they are normal and I will start losing again soon. I am going to up my exercise and see if I can break it. Now those few weeks I had with no loss dont feel like a stall to me...just my body adjusting. I know its all part of the process but we, as (prior) big people, are so scared of a diet or new plan not working, we fear these stalls as if they are final. They are not. The loss will slow down and your plateaus will get more frequent and longer.. that's what my Dr. told me and I see he was telling the truth. -
She is doing great! She moves into regular foods on Sunday so all the hardest part is over!

My sister was just sleeved by him June 1. I went with her since I was sleeved last year here in the US. I wanted to make sure everything was good. It was a great experience! We both were VERY happy with him and his staff. We were treated wonderfully by him and his staff. You will be in great hands. They are the most caring people and they are so attentive. You wont be disappointed. She is doing very well. We Love Dr. A!!!!

Well, my opinion on it is this... you are looking at it like you deserve to have it. Its what got you where you dont want to be so I think that is a poor choice of words.. You deserve to be happy and healthy and a slurpee is not on that path. Its not healthy, its pure sugar. You dont "deserve" unhealthy stuff. Your body deserves so much better than a slurpee. There is no real need for a food funeral. You will be able to enjoy things again in MOderation. You will get to have some slurpee here and there again so dont look at it with such finality. After you are sleeved, slurpees wont be that important anymore anyway and a few sips of one will be enough to satisfy. I would wait until then. JMHO

Want Honest Immediate Post Surgery Opinions
Forensikchic replied to ShannonK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay... I will share my experience and I hope it helps you. I was sleeved on a Monday and by that Friday I was feeling ok and even went shopping for a bit. That weekend and following week, I was tired like Wheetsin. I had to rest in my bed from taking a shower and had a hard time even washing my hair, I was so exhausted. I did go back to work Monday, one week after surgery. I took it easy and was tired but okay. The following weeks got better for me. My sister just had her surgery and she did not have this happen. She felt okay from the first week and shopped and busied around the house, etc. She did not get the exhaustion that I got. Bottom line is... it depends on how demanding your kids are and if you have time to rest in between taking care of them. A crock pot might come in very handy! Your 11 year old might be able to take some of the things for the 5 year old and do them for you. I am sure you can make it and doing it in the summer will be better I am sure. Just my advice.. I think you can handle it. -
Breakfast Ideas For Non-Morning Person
Forensikchic replied to dramagirl28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im not a morning person either and I am 10.5 months out too. I drink a shake on the way to work, usually muscle milk and then around 10, I have cheese and ritz crackers. I get the cracker cuts or the sliced kind that isnt individually wrapped and cut it down the center so I dont have to cut cheese each time. No pun intended. I eat two cracker cuts on two whole wheat ritz. Hits the spot and is easy to eat with your hands. I also buy the individual Jif peanut butter tubs and i can eat half of it with ritz or mini nilla wafers. Just use the mini nilla to dip into the peanut butter with. I dont use utensils for that either. These are my go to breakfast foods, I have them almost every day. if you decide to try the cracker cuts, pack just what you need each morning so it wont need refrigeration, in case you dont have access to a refrigerator. Congrats! Don't worry about having a post with errors. You can edit your post I know. I have to do it all the time. Its a button at the bottom of your post that says, well, EDIT. Teehee. I don't know how to delete it though. -
My sister is getting her sleeve on June 1st, 2012 with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. I was wondering if there is anyone else who is having theirs that day or weekend. I live in San Antonio so she is coming here from Mississippi and we are traveling together to Eagle Pass, Tx. I want to find some buddies that will be there at the same time! Please let me know if you had Dr. Alvarez as your surgeon, your experience, but especially if you are going to be sleeved on June 1! Would love to have a buddy to visit with while we are there and share experiences with.

Swimsuit Comparison Pics! Brave, I Know!

@ Hadouni--- I am in Marisias. Its an elite beach town where my exchange student got married. Its between Rio and Sao Paulo along the shore. She is standing next to me in the picture and then her brother and his girlfriend. If only I had her abs! lol. I think this belt lipectomy is going to make my tummy look more like hers, at least I hope so! It includes a tummy tuck but it goes all the way around and pulls my butt back up into place and my hips too. I really need this done and I am excited but scared at the same time! The recovery is hard I think. You are cut 360 degrees around. Anyway, thanks for all the compliments! I really appreciate them. I feel better in my body than I did before, for sure! -

As you may have noticed, my legs aren't really in the pics too much. I have problem loose skin on my belly, especially below the bikini line and my inner thighs. They sag pretty bad. I didn't allow them to be in the pictures. I figured it wouldn't make a difference if I wore a one piece or two because my legs are my issue for the most part and no bathing suit covers them so what the hell. I am looking into a belt lipectomy (lower body lift) this fall. It will cure a lot of my problem areas. I think I am a little flabby in the tummy but not as bad as it could have been. I walk three days a week and sometimes jog a little. I did a lot of zumba for a few months too. I really need to get back to doing more exercise to get these last few pounds off. Walking was my main exercise though. I have not worked out with weights, although I should. I do have a lot of flab on my arms but you can only tell it when they are parallel to the ground. Teehee. I am embarrassed to admit my lack of gym activity or working out. I just did the best I could and I enjoyed walking in the spring here in south Texas. Now, not so much. I will pick up the pace this week though because I am determined to be in the 130's! -
