Yay Tina! I had to learn how to sip too.. I was a gulper... The time will literally fly by and you will have a hard time remembering this part! Its only a few short weeks and you will be able to eat food in small amounts slowly, but real food. You are doing great! -

Weight Loss Rewards
Forensikchic replied to SrHogan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a topic I havent really thought about and should. I have not been rewarding myself. I have missed my halloween goal by a few pounds and now I am going to miss my Xmas one by a few pounds too so there has not been a real reward system. I am happy with my results but I didnt think to reward myself for how well I am doing. I set these arbitrary goals for myself, not knowing where to start.. they have been too high each time. I am going to set rewards right now for different milestones I want to reach and follow through with it! Thanks for the idea! I think things like new makeup, a pedicure, jewelry, a massage, a new purse, etc would be good rewards. I have to buy new clothes every few weeks anyway and I get them at thift stores. I plan to buy a whole new wardrobe when I reach goal and level off anyway. I do see the need to get smaller rewards along the way though. -
Fgf: Get Pumped For 2012! What's Your Resolution?
Forensikchic replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am going to sign up for my first 5k, its February 25th here in San Antonio. Thats 8 1/2 weeks away or so. I think I can do it if I dont give up after the first three weeks, like I have in the past. It just always seemed like stuff came up and I didnt get to be consistent with my running and then I just fell off the wagon after missing one or two training sessions. I am trying a new running program that is a little easier than couch to 5k- meaning it is less complicated in the amounts of time you run/walk. Maybe that will do the trick. PLUS... this time I weigh 55 pounds less!!!!!! -

I want to be sure people are ready for a new one so I was thinking of starting the day after the xmas one is over with..even though we are just days away! If others think we should start it now instead of waiting...please chime in! -

Fgf: Get Pumped For 2012! What's Your Resolution?
Forensikchic replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had to think about this for a few days... My main resolution is to be kinder to myself and put myself first sometimes! I am breaking that down into two things...becoming active and getting my self esteem under control so I dont take everything out on my hubby! I need to work on being motivated to be active. I have dreams of being able to run 5k's. I have asthma so its kinda hard for me to become a runner, however, Jackie Joiner Kirksey had asthma too and that didnt stop her! So... my first resolution is to run a 5k... the whole thing and do some fun stuff like play the we just dance 2 and zumba games I have. I am going to be working on my fitness! The next part is to be kinder to my husband who is my life. I take everything out on him and he doesnt deserve that. I vow to stop doing that and being more attentive and loving. My self esteem is getting better now with the weight loss and I hope to work on my head a little and get this resolved. I dont want to go too overboard with these so I will just make two. Maybe I can handle that! Good luck to everyone! -
Christmas Challenge!!!
Forensikchic replied to Forensikchic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Is there any interest in a Valentines day goal? I figure we only have a matter of a few days left in this challenge so why not start thinking about our goals for say Valentines day? Its about 7 weeks from Christmas. I am thinking I can do 15 pounds maybe by then. Anyone else interested in doing a valentines challenge? -

3 Days Post-op And No Gas! Should I Be Worried?
Forensikchic replied to DisappearingDivis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no gas or gas pains either.. you are just one of the lucky ones! enjoy! -
I have a seiko watch that I have always loved. When I first got it I had a link taken out so it would not dangle around... then it got so tight I couldnt wear it, I lost the link. I put it up for years... I just got it back out and it fits great! Woohooo! I can also wear my wedding rings and my thumbring again....Down 55 pounds! The sad news is that I went on vacation in Brazil this spring at my heaviest and bought jewelry. It wont fit anymore and I am going to have to have it resized! Yay, sort of....

Forensikchic replied to Forensikchic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
SN--- Forensikchic SW--194 GW---174 CW--179.3 lbs to goal--- 5.3 I am 5.3 pounds away from my goal and only six days left! I dont think I am gonna loose that much in that short a time with all these Christmas parties!!! I am happy to be under 180 though and loosing 15 pounds is a great feat! I missed my halloween goal by a few pounds too. We never know how much we will loose but its fun trying. I think I am going to consider going for 15 on the next one instead of 20. I still feel like I won! lol LOVE MY SLEEVE! -

Early Signs Of Dehydration?
Forensikchic replied to blackanese25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may be getting dehydrated. Try to keep sipping. If you dont feel better in a few hours, go get an IV. My surgeons office has a special place you go to just to get an iv for a few hours. They recommend it when its needed. I would try to keep sipping and see if that helps first. -
Not Sure If This Is An Nsv Or What?
Forensikchic replied to Lissa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
well, I agree with all the above.. I was married to an alcoholic and I enabled him to continue to be for 10 years. Finally broke free of that! Yours sounds a lot like mine... giving orders and such. If he wants a divorce, let him file it. Why should you take on all the stress of that, meeting with lawyers, paying for it and so on while he sits back and just signs his name when you are done doing ALL the work. Screw that. Let him do it and you sit back and sign when you agree to everything. Thats what I say... Dont let him keep ordering you around... you dont owe him sh*t. -
Help! Thinking About Backing Out!
Forensikchic replied to Bcole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As everyone has said, it is your decision however I do have some words that you might find comforting and reassuring. I totally freaked out before my surgery, worrying I would die and leave my kids, doubting myself, saying, "why cant you just loose this on your own!!!" I felt like a failure and this was my way to save myself before I got diabetes. I was healthy too, no comorbidities or anything, just fat. I dont agree with people that say I am healthy, just fat, though. I work at a crime lab and next door to the morgue. I see plenty of people that dont have "health problems" but their heart is enlarged from having to work so hard to haul around the extra weight. There are so many things going on behind the scenes that affect our health that most people are unaware of. Your heart is a muscle and it gets enlarged when it has to work twice as hard as its supposed to just the carry the load. I just want you to understand that just because you think you are healthy, just fat... you might want to reconsider the benefits of this surgery, as in not having an enlarged heart, fatty liver and so on... You will be able to do so much more and feel so much better! Ultimately, its your decision but the sleeve has changed my life! -
Pre Gastric Sleeve Surgery Tests Done!
Forensikchic replied to favoredone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am so excited for you!!! Glad you are all done with preop stuff. You will do fantastic! I just know it. Try to calm down, even though its so hard. I was so hyped up before my surgery, it was hard to breathe and I couldnt sleep a wink the night before.... You get plenty of sleep once they give you the good stuff and you will nap on and off all day the day of surgery with the help of a little thing called Morphine! I want to know how you are as soon as you can post that you are ok. I always worry about those people I feel like I know, on their surgery day. I sit by the computer, waiting for them to reply. This is the most caring, supportive site I have been to. Good luck to you and may it all go very smoothly!!! almost there! -
