Ot: Sizing Charts Suck. Apple Shaped Women, What Are Your Measurements And Your Size?
Forensikchic replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Im 5'4" tall and I started out at 234 and my measurements were 44,41,52. Now I weigh 163.6 and my measurements are 38,32,40. So from a pear to an hourglass is kinda where I went. I was an hourglass when I was in college at 36,24,36. I hope to make it back there someday. BRICK HOUSE! Woot! -
Size 18/20 Lane Bryant Mystery Pants Nsv
Forensikchic replied to Paola's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have some mystery pants too! Back about 6 or 7 years ago, I had dieted and gotten down to about 170. I wore a 14-16 in jeans because I am quite curvy. I went to the outlet stores and I bought this pair of size 14 short, Tommy Hilfiger jeans. They were skin tight but they looked awesome on me. I loved these jeans. They loosened up as I washed them and I wore them often for about a year. Alas, I started gaining yet again and could not get them over my hips. I packed them away. Fastforward to today. I am only 6.5 pounds lighter now than I was then, I dug them out and said, well they may still be a little snug but I think I can make it work. I put them on and they are at least two sizes too BIG. WOW. They are so baggy it looks like you can fit another person in here with me. I look like a hobo. I put on a belt to hold them up and wore them anyway. I sit here now with the waist gapping all out from under the belt and saying... what was I thinking? I cant explain what happened. I dont understand how only being about 6 pounds lighter could make that much difference in these particular jeans. Off to goodwill they go! All this week I have been wearing tight 10's. I firmly believe a 10 in these jeans would be loose! -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Forensikchic replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great post Ouroborous! I agree 100%. My surgeon explained it a similar way. He said if you graph your weight loss, you will see that the first leg of the journey is usually a slant and then about 3 or 4 months into it you see stair steps. You will be in the stair step stage for the duration with the plateaus representing the steps. The steps will get bigger and the drops shorter as you go through the process until you reach goal or for about 2 years. I expect now that I am about 7 months out that my little plateaus will get closer together and be longer each time, etc. Thats okay because I am still losing overall and the fat is moving out! We all want immediate gratification and thats just not reality long term. We have to be patient and do the work. I am changing slowly but surely and I am grateful for my sleeve. -
Gaining Weight Right After Surgery
Forensikchic replied to DC Smith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained 13 pounds from fluid and it took two weeks to come off. Then I had a kidney stone and was back in the hospital for all of week three on IV fluids again. I gained back to my original highest weight when I left the hospital that time. It took about a week for all the fluid to dissapate and for me to see that I had been losing weight all that time, it was just hiding under the fluid! BE PATIENT. That fluid weight will start dropping off, I promise. Your body is in shock and it may take a little bit for it to decide to let it go. Best wishes. -
Old Navy=Awesome. Faded Glory=Mean.
Forensikchic replied to minaleigh's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am so happy for you! I have found that old navy jeans are cut small for me. I am curvy and I cant wear the same size in old navy as I do in other jeans. Kind of like the opposite of you. It all depends on the cut. I have fat thighs and hips but a smaller waist. Old navy doesnt really work for me. They have little thighs! lol. I was so happy when I found a brand that really fit me well and in a smaller size! Yay for finding the right fit and cut for you! -
Need Comebacks For "easy Way Out" Crack
Forensikchic replied to gmanbat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A while back someone posted a comeback they had used and it was about people who say its the easy way out and if they can lose 10 pounds on the liquid diet, why not just keep that up. Their reply was "can you hold your breath for one minute?"... okay, hold it for the rest of your life. Anyone can hold their breath for a short while, but its a little more difficult to do it long term. I thought this was a profound statement. -
Size 10 Jeans! What?
Forensikchic replied to Forensikchic's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks! I am wearing a size 10 pair of khaki pants today! Woohooo! I now have 4 or 5 pairs of pants/jeans in a 10 and I am so happy I can wear them! Not all 10's fit, hell, not all 12's fit but there are some and I love wearing them. I almost cried this morning when I realized these khaki's are 10's! I am going to keep on keeping on and we will see where I end up! -

Size 10 Jeans! What?
Forensikchic replied to Forensikchic's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well, Thomas, consider this....If you are going to be negative an unsupportive of my journey, please refrain from posting on any thread of mine. I hardly think that being the same weight for two week signifies the end of my journey and that my sleeve has reached its end. If you had read my post thoroughly, you would see where it talked about losing inches and pants size. Im sorry but I dont come to this board for someone to be a negative nellie and try to dash my dreams, but rather for support and encouragement. If you cant be supportive and encouraging, dont bother commenting. I am only 6.5 months out and according to my surgeon I will continue to lose for another 1.5 years! My tool is not near the end of its life by any means. I could understand your comment better if I was near the 1.5 or 2 year mark, but to say that to someone who is barely 6 months out, I find offensive. Consider how your comments might be perceived by the recipient before you post them next time. -

I am bursting inside and I just have to tell someone, so why not the whole VST?? Today, I was sitting behind my desk and a pathologist from my work comes in. She was asking about a bullet that she removed from a person. She and my boss were looking down at it and I rose from behind my desk to come over and see it too and she looked up at me and in mid sentence exclaimed "OH MY GOD!!!!!!" really loudly and I said oh sh*t! what??? Is there something on me? She said, I am so sorry, but I just havent seen you in a while and I was completely taken aback. I was so surprised! I didnt realize I looked that different. After we talked about the evidence, she asked me how much I had lost and told me that if I stayed right where I am now, I would be perfect for the rest of my life. I said I have about 30 more I want to lose and she said well as far as I am concerned, you look like you are at a perfect weight. Congratulations. She is a brilliant doctor whom I respect so much and it just made my day to surprise her like that and make her scream out in the middle of a sentence! Horray for me!!!! Wow what an NSV! Wooohoooooo!

My husband is 6'2" and he recently lost about 60 pounds. He is hovering around 220 right now and he is not overweight. He is not super skinny either but certainly he is a healthy weight and looks great! He still has his love handles but he doesnt work out and is happy with this weight right now. When he was 280, he was at risk for heart attack, etc because he carries his weight in the middle. I hope this helps you know that 220 is a good weight for your height!

The support groups are the first Monday of the month at 6pm where they give the seminars next door to foundation hospital on huebner. They are kinda boring so I want to get some people who were sleeved in there so we have something relevant to talk about. -

How Did You Choose Your Screen Name?
Forensikchic replied to Pookeyism's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been a forensic scientist for 12 years now and I am the only girl in my department (firearms) so I have used the screenname for years. It fits me! I still love all things forensic. I just changed the spelling a bit for fun. My name is Tammi and one year we had a Tammy as a secretary so they renamed us Tammi Guns and Tammy Roses. I was called Tammiguns for a long time (kind of like tommygun) I hated it and I much prefer forensikchic. lol. -
Wearing yet another size 10 jeans today! I also have court and brought my new size 10 blazer and slacks! They fit!

Size 10 Jeans! What?
Forensikchic replied to Forensikchic's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Most of the jeans I am wearing now are 12's and they are getting very baggy however, not all 12s will fit?? I guess its the difference in the cut. I dont care. These jeans are Aura made by lady wrangler. They are super cute and fit my body shape like a glove. I have some 14's, 12's and now 10's in this same brand/style. LOVE THEM. I have a curvy figure like an hourglass so its kinda hard to find jeans to fit my hips and butt and not be gigantic in the waist. These are awesome for people with my build. Thanks women of wrangler! I cant wear a 10 in much else except a suit jacket. The dress pants are a little snug through the thighs/butt in a 10. I will wait patiently........ lol. -
I was able to deduct mine as well. I paid 14200 for the surgery. It allowed me to put that down plus all my insurances premiums for the year, prescription copays, dr. copays, etc. You put ALL your out of pocket medical expenses on there and turbotax will subtract the 7.5% from it and deduct the rest from your tax bill. It helped lower my tax bill so I got more back but of course no where near dollar for dollar. I have never deducted medical expenses because normally they wouldnt be over the 7.5 percent but this surgery put it way over that. Worked out great for us!

Going down in inches not necessarily pounds! I have lost 2 more inches in the hips, one in the butt and a half in my thigh! Yay!

Passport Picture Question- Calling All Travelers Abroad Please
Forensikchic replied to former_vbg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can tell its you in both pictures. Your face shape is still the same only smaller. You look like the same person only the new is a smaller version. I think you will be just fine. I dont think there is a need to get a new passport. I am not going to get one and I plan on traveling next year. I think you can recognize my face despite the weightloss. Good luck and have a great time!
