Breakfast Casserole: High protein, low carb!
HDubSleevery replied to Virginia S's topic in Soft (stage 3)
Sounds great! I am going to try this in a few weeks when I get to the "eating" stage. -
Shut my mouth! You look like a completely different person with a whole different attitude! Great JOB!
-
I agree you look great. The best part is the SMILE!

6 months out today - with pics

I can't wait to get where you are! It is so wonderful to be able to do things with the kids. I don't know who gets more joy out of it...the mommas or the babies! CONGRATULATIONS! -
I felt this same flutter when I was pregnant with the Peanut and she was still tiny. It is like a small internal wiggle. I am having it now, but high up around my tummy instead of low down in the abdomen like before. Does anyone else get a flutter? (it's kind of tickly and fun).

Does anyone get the flutter?

I really stopped and thought about it too! So glad i am not the only one! -
Oh no! I swallowed it!

Kelly - You're right. It's the next day and surprisingly I am still kickin! It's so funny the things we can panic over. -
I am on Day 10 so I am supposed to start taking my vitamins. I have the gummy multis and I popped one in my mouth. I Chewed it a little to break it up so it would melt faster and I swallowed it. Do you think I could have messed up something?
-
Yeah you need to get it taken care of. It will be really bad if you let it get infected. An infection in any part of your body can mess with your surgery. Who knows? Maybe they will say it just has to break through?

Tonight I tried full liquids. I have been on clears. I made an unjury Protein shake with vanilla almond milk. I take a couple of sips and I feel something like I lump in the back of my throat. After a few minutes it goes away. If I drink more than one sip, I get the lump. Is this what it is like to have a full sleeve or does sleevey not like my choice?

Caffeine? Husband?
HDubSleevery replied to A New Day's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, like many others, was a caffeine freak. I drank 3-4 lattes a day and at least 64 ounces of sweet tea. Ahhh sweet tea. Anyway...I quit around a week before surgery. I just didn't want to deal with the withdrawal while I was recovering. For me, it hasn't been that bad. My b12 gives me an extra umph during the day. I switched to warm apple cider, warm pumpkin spice decaf tea, or any other flavors of decaf tea. Even warm apple juice with cinnamon and a teaspoon of Torani SF caramel syrup. I am only 10 days out and haven't had a craving for it yet. I am one of those people who has Murphy's Law carved on her forehead so I would rather not tempt fate than have it. (Now if someone could please stop the Subway roasted chicken sub sandwich commercials from airing, then I would be a much happier lady!) It isn't too hard to cook for my Peanut but it is just the two of us. I have freezer portions of food for her, so usually as I am nuking my broth or Soup I am also warming up her dinner as well. As long as we are eating together, it doesn't bother me that I am not eating what she eats. -
Is this full or sick?

Oh and I didn't get my soup today. He said the squash from the garden was overripe and was not good. I thanked him for not bringing me yucky soup and sipped on my G2. -

Ahhh I just heard back from Dr. A via Gaby. He said it is an acid problem. He said to take one Nexium in the morning and one at night for the next 5 days and it should go away. WOOHOO! -

HDubSleevery replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! I was thinking last night that Day 8 was really my turning point where I didn't really feel like I had surgery. The problem with feeling good is that I forget the rules! I had a chug of apple juice in my mouth before I remembered! I had to keep it in there and just let little sips go down. Who says fear isn't a motivator? -
Two weeks and very happy
HDubSleevery replied to dawnr's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is great! I am 4'10" too and I had been 180 for most of my adult life. After I had my baby I developed hypothyroid and shot up to 207! I'm 10 days out and I've lost 19 lbs! I can't believe I am back in the 180s again! I never thought I would be so happy with that. -

Ugh...I have been trying again this morning. I made a Protein shake and added Lactaid 2% milk. I have been sipping once every 5-10 minutes for the last 2 hours. I now have that back of the throat feeling again. Do you think it is best to stop trying for about 20 minutes and switch over to my apple juice or just leave it alone entirely? I'm going to email Gaby about it today too just to hear her thoughts on it. (The silver lining is that I haven't brought anything up. Knock on wood!) Thanks! HP -

Could you have a stomach virus? I don't know how it would feel with a sleeve. -
My slump continues and it's a mystery to me

Stress does crazy things to us. It can certainly stop our loss. About the hair...I swear surgery made me ridiculous amounts of leg hair. I've had my pits lasered so at least I don't have to worry about them. -

I think I expected the full liquids to be a continuation of the clears. It seems more like starting all over again. It isn't necessarily a bad thing just wasn't what I was expecting. -

HDubSleevery replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmm...that's probably it. The baby drinks Lactaid Milk. I re-made the shake with her milk. The first sip, sip was ok. After that no good. I think you are right. I am pretty swollen and that's my full feeling? We are having a luncheon tomorrow at work and we have a new catering manager that is strutting his culinary stuff tomorrow. My boss went to him and asked him to make a Soup for me and everyone else is having sandwiches. I wanted to give the shakes a try tonight because I didn't want to my soup tomorrow to be the first time I try full liquids. He is going to make me an acorn squash bisque with cinnamon and pumpkin spice. They even said they would strain it for me. (All they know is that I am on a special diet from "surgery"). I am definitely bringing some tupperware to bring it home with me! -
Ok admit it...

Ha Ha! I forgot about the anesthesiologist! He came in and told me I was young..."same age as me"..."very young". Not only were most of the guys pretty hot, but most of the women were really attractive too. I kinda felt like an ugly duckling. Oh one of the nurses saw my tattoos when she took my blood pressure. She immediately said "Ohh no no no" LOL! My friend keeps telling me I am going to end up married to someone from Mexico! -
Dr. Aceves requires 10 days of clears, 10 days of full, 10 days of mushy/puree, THEN solids. I am wrapping up day 8 on clears and I don't know how you didi it. I really need some tips or something. I found myself staring at hot chocolate mix tonight wondering if somehow it could be considered a clear?! I feel so empty! How did you guys do it?
-
How did you do it?
HDubSleevery replied to HDubSleevery's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thanks ladies! It is nice to know I am not the only one. The great thing is that because of my sleeve I am still on clears and haven't deviated. It is proving to me that this was the right decision because I would have caved Day 2 without it. I'm not necessarily hungry. It is more like an empty or unsatisfied feeling. Kinda like clears just aren't filling enough no matter how much of them I have. I got some Isopure clear this morning in the hopes that adding some Protein will help. I got the apple flavor and mixed it half and half with Water. I added a packet of Apple Pear Archer Farms and so far it is going down pretty well. It is Day 9 and I can do this for a couple more days. I think I can...I think I can...I think I can!! -

You are right about the cleaning. Those ladies were cleaning non stop. I think they cleaned my trash can twice a day!
