Thanks well sort of approved... I have to get my official approval letter hopefully it will be sent out by the end of the week.
That stinks about Wellmark! Dr. Cahalan was very honest about not having much experience with VSG but he has been doing bariatric surgery for so long now I trust him. I'll try to keep you updated with all my details. I post the most up to date stuff on my blog Been There Was That so feel free to follow me there. Speaking of which I need to update it... I hope Wellmark changes their policy soon it seems like if you cover RNY you should cover VSG!

I am hoping to have surgery then end of June or begining of July. I have almost all of my pre-surgery requirements completed which included. general pre surgery class pre opp nutrition and exc class meeting with surgeon and 6 one hour post opp nutrition classes I have completed 3 out of the 6 oh I almost forgot the crazy psych eval.....

I am pre-approved for sleeve with UHC I am going with Dr. C @ Mercy WLC. I know he hasn't done that many but I am confident in his skills as a surgeon. He did my mom's RNY 5 years ago and she has had no issues. PM me if you want more details and I can keep you updated on my surgery.
