Hi everyone...I am a new member, just joined today. I have really enjoyed reading all of the posts and learning so much from all of you. I am scheduled to have my band removed and the sleeve done on 8/9/11. Currently on my pre-op diet and it is going okay. I try to stay away from the kitchen so I don't have to look at food. I am just worried about the sleeve not being successful for me. I have been banded for 4 years and only lost about 10 lbs. I still get sick alot, especially when eating meats, so I decided it had to go....I am hoping to have better results with the sleeve. But I am scared because it is a restrictive procedure like the band, and that absolutely did not work for me. Anyone else out there who converted from the band to the sleeve due to poor weight loss?

    Hello All!

I am also a patient of Dr. Curry. I am having a band to sleeve revision on 8/9/11. Excited, but scared.. Afraid of failure and afraid of leaks...The band has not worked at all for me...was banded in 2007.
  3. I am having the band to sleeve revision in about a week. It is being done in the same surgery by Dr. Curry at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. Anyone else out there have the band revision by Dr. Curry?

    What were your reasons?

I am having a band to sleeve revision on 8/9/11. The band has never really worked for me. I could never get to the "sweet spot" that everyone talks about. I have been banded since 2007 and have lost maybe 10 lbs. I still vomit if when I eat some healthy foods, but boy, I can down a bag of cookies or chips. I felt like I had two stomachs. One on top that hurt and where things got stuck and then one on the bottom that was starving all of the time. I felt so guilty because I've known other people who were banded and have had moderate to good success. My PCP told me one time that I was "eating around the band". Maybe I was, but I feel like I gave it my best shot. I still worry about the sleeve because I know it is another restrictive procedure. I just hope that I don't feel that horrible pain that I did with the band.
