  1. Keep me posted on how you are doing. REGFERN
  2. I'm not a coffee drinker but I do like fruit smoothies. I'm gonna slice up bananas and freeze them along with strawberries to use in smoothies. Also gonna get some natural peanut butter to mix with chocolate protein powder. Can we just have chicken or beef broth too? Grocery shopping is a weekly outing my husband and I share together, I agree, I think I'll skip this for awhile. I'm a teacher getting ready to go back to school and my youngest son is leaving for college in 2 wks. so maybe i'll stick with stores like office supply and dept.stores to get my shopping fix. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Where did you get the Optifast? I've been drinking the Crystal Lite lemonade and pink lemonade all summer and love it. I also love Propel, especially the grade. It comes in ready bottles which sometimes you can get on sale or the powder ready to go packets. The grape is just like Kool Aid. I think my Dr. sells some powder supplement, not sure if I have to buy that or can find my own. I only have until Wed. a.m when I start to figure this out. Go to the office on Tuesday to sign paper work and get me started. Also i have a sleep Specialist consult, the anthesiologist consult. WOw!
  4. Let's share recipes. I'm going grocery shopping today. I have yet to try a ready made Protein shake, have you? I heard that you can sometimes find individual bottles at Gas stations. I don't want to buy some 4-6 pack and not like it.

    August 2011 Bandsters????

My surgery is just the day before yours. They are telling me since I'm outpatient that I should be fine to go into work in a couple days if I don't do any lifting. I just read a posting that someone else said the pain was worse on 2 days post -op so now I'm getting worried. Best of luck on your surgery and the days ahead.

    August 2011 Bandsters????

I didn't have to have the GI stuff done. Is that because you have reflux maybe? I do have to have the sleep study, which I was trying to get out of since I'm have MANY surgeries before and it wasn't an issue. I just had a total hip replacement in April and there was no questions. I think this surgery they tilt you head down so that could effect your breathing, also that's why there is shoulder pain from air trapping there. Starting liquids this week and really nervous about handling it.

    August 2011 Bandsters????

I'm from the Cincinnati area too, surgery in West Chester. I am scheduled for 8/17 which means I'm starting my liquid diet this coming Wed. I'm more worried about that than anything else. I've had lots of surgeries, including knee and hip replacement. Also had my gallbladder out and hysterectomy so I'm not as worried about recovery. I guess I'm more worried about managing the liquid diet. Any suggestions? I'm kinda a sugar addict so I'm going to need something sweet to get buy. I guess I can do broth too. I'd love some survival tips and recipes. Also not to be gross but how does being on that liquid diet affect your bowels?
  9. Haven't heard my surgery yet, love advice on living on the liquid diet that I start this coming week.
