Chewable vitamin...gag me!

I am only 3 weeks out but I can already tell the mental hold that food had on me is gone! I don't think about eating constantly and don't think about what I will eat next all day. Amazing feeling!

I am 3 weeks out and doing well except for protein. I cant stomach the shakes....I've tried multiple. The only protein foods I am allowed to eat are eggs and cottage cheese....which I eat a lot of. Any suggestions?

Congrats! I was te same way...just ready and optimistic! Good luck and welcome!

You are completely normal. In the hospital, when I would drink water I would feel almost pain. I talked to the doc about it and he said it is normal. It's like putting something on a wound...ouch. It will get better....and so will the gas. Just hang in there...I am 3 weeks out and feel so much better! -

I have a friend who had lap band 2 weeks before me and hasnt been successful. She has made comments about getting the wrong surgery, etc. I don't really want to share my successes with her because I feel guilty. -
Is it really a stall?

Very informative and makes perfect sense! Thanks for sharing. -
Congrats! You look great!

Left side isn't typically gallbladder. If it is in your lower quadrant could be your ovary, diverticulitis, or something else. If it continues I would get it checked out. Feel better!

I had those feelings once when I had a bug. I had a virus or something and everything hurt....even my skin. When I showered it was like I had a sunburn. I would still contact your doc....might be something they need to know. Feel better!

I have some of the same feelings when I know I can't be hungry. I have attributed it to my new small stomach. I'm sure it makes some different sounds and feelings then the old one. I also have noticed it when I need burp.

New to WLS (Looking like Sleeve is best option)
jillw8 replied to sweetpea danderfluff's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I haven't at all. I am still progressing my diet as my doctor orders. They have a strict method of gettimg back to all foods. So far, no nausea or vomitting. I eat cottage cheese, soup, eggs, pudding, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Much better than clear liquids! I add things back in every week. Jill -
Depression After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
jillw8 replied to Bob_350lbs's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 3 weeks out tomorrow and have been on depression meds for a long time. Yesterday was the first day I felt sorry for myself and jus wanted to lay around all day. I will be okay but I can see why this major change can cause depression. -
I had what I thought was hunger pains but it was trapped gas, and swallowed gas. I am 3 weeks out now and have hunger pains but they are very mild and actually mean I am hungry and need to eat. It will get better!

Also, I am still on the mushy/full liquid part for another week and I am okay. It doesn't seem bad because I am not hungry and those things fill me up. It hasn't been bad! Not even the clear liquids was bad. -

Hello, and welcome! I known the things going through your head and I know how hard it is. I was just sleeved on the 30th of August and couldn't be happier. I was initially leaning towards the band but with frequent trips for fills and the higher complication rate i decided against it. I was going to do the bypass but I was turned off by the malabsorption. I talked toba friend who had it done and was still having nausea and vomitting and a lot of foods she couldn't tolerate. When I spoke with people who had te sleeve, none of them had issues. This isn't to say it doesn't come with risks, but long term it seems the best for me. Also, i know it's permanent. I have been fat all of my life and if I have a surgery to help me I want it to be LIFE LONG. I have also read that NSAIDs are okay in short spurts with the sleeve...which can be useful for joint issues. I don't know If this helped but good luck! -
Rash around incisions...driving me crazy!
jillw8 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 nights ago my stomach was itching a bit above my belly button. Today, I have a rash above and below my belly button, and around my other 2 incisions. It doesn't look infected but it is getting worse. Guess I am making a trip to doc tomorrow. The itching is driving me mad!!! -
Is it okay to chop vitamins/calcium?
jillw8 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can stomach chewing them. I have started cutting them into small pieces and then swallowing. Do you think this is okay? If not, I have to find new ones. -
Welcome! Congrats on embarking upon this journey. I was sleeved on august 30 and already know this was the best decision of my life. I know you will feel the same! I'm sure most of your health problems will disappear. Good luck!

Pain on right side lower back
jillw8 replied to Peter M's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could be a kidney stone or even gallbladder....pain can refer to right back or shoulder. If it continues I would get it checked out. -
