  1. Same here! I was very emotional for about 3 weeks. Example: my husband had went out with friends several times in 1 week to have some beers. I went to one place but the smoke got to me a lot more than before surgery so I went home without him. When he got home I started bawling saying that he wasn't thinking about me and what I had been through and what I can't do anymore. He responded "you did that to yourself," which made me cry even more. He apologized and said he wasn't being considerate and he would do better. It can be hard to have our lives change so drastically while everyone else goes on living. I am better now and know I made the right decision.
  2. I had the same thing. I could drink way more than I should have been able to. However, drinking is very different from taking in actual food! The fluids go through quickly. I am a month out and still cant do protein shakes. Loved them before surgery and for first week post op. Now they gross me out. Hang in there it will get better!

    Food dreams

I think the dream was almost satisfying I remember actually tasting the food in my dream. Weird!
  4. I felt it for about 2.5 weeks. It will get better. Your healing stomach is still inflamed and healing. Once that gets better so will those pains. Good luck! Jill
  5. I can guarantee you the feelings you are having are normal. You are not alone. To answer some of your questions: The feeling of trapped air does go away. I think it is just our bodies adjusting to this major change. Keep taking your PPI, should help the reflux issues. I count the Water in Protein shakes. I also count Jello, Popsicles, and ang other liquid. Fast weight loss is normal in the beginning! It will slow. You are doing great and I had to remind myself that I went through a major surgery and it changed my life. Hang in there!!! Jill

    Water...

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hawaiian punch water flavors. Juicy red is my all time favor but they also have blue raspberry, grape, and orange. All sugar free!
  7. I was on liquids for 1 week, mushies/full liquids for 3 weeks, added meat this week, and then every week from here I add something back
  8. I think if we weren't scared we wouldn't be human. If you were getting ready to take a life altering step like marriage, a new job, or a baby....you would be scared!! You will be okay and you will be so glad you did this! Good luck!
  9. I know how you feel. I originally opted for the band but after researching both procedures success rates, failure rates, complications, and follow up appointments I knew that the sleeve was right for me. It isn't right for everyone that's why we have to research it. For me this is why i chose the sleeve:1) I have a 2 hour commute to my surgeon...so monthly appointments for at least a year wast appealing 2) the band failure rate was too high for me 3) when I googled horror stories for both I only found ones on the band 4) didn't like the idea of a permanent foreign body in my abdomen 5) I wanted something that was 100% permanent. I didn't want tp go through all of this for a procedure that wiuld need life time adjustments. And 6) it seemed the most easy and natural: no foreign bodies or injections and no rerouting of my guts. These were my personal reasons. Good luck in deciding!!
  10. I hated the taste of my capsules mixed with anything. I take my depression capsule, title my head back, open it above my open mouth and let it fall onto tongue. I then take a quick swig of water. makes it better than with mixing it!

    need suggestions.....

What about almonds? They have a ton of flavored almonds by Blue Diamod. They are amazing! My favs: habenero BBQ (not as spicy as it sOunds), honey Dijon and chili lime. Amazing and good for us in moderation!
  12. I had the same feelings but it was never truly hunger. It was me healing and gas. Just keep your head up....it gets better! Promise. Warm liquids seemed to sit better with my stomach.
  13. It didnt help me but mine was all from the gas they pump in you. Only thing that worked was lots of walking.
  14. Well, first of all my surgeon made it clear that vomitting or pain are NOT normal. I'm sorry you have had such a hard time. I hope they can give you answers at your follow up. Have you talked to your Doc about it? I would be demanding some answers! Good luck!
  15. Hello. I was also sleeved on the 30th. It amazes me how different the diets are from doctor to doctor. By week 2 I was allowed yogurt, pudding, eggs, oatmeal, and soup. I just hit week four and was allowed to add in meats, that are soft, Peanut Butter, toast, and crackers. Regardless of te diet I think we all have that mental thought....I need to (or can) eat more. I'm trying to learn to really slow down and listen to my body. Which is new for me. For years, I have just mindlessly ate and ate. Not anymore. It sounds like you are healing well! Good luck! I am down 27lbs!
  16. I am just to the point that I can take in adequate food....gettimg meat, lowest cheese, toast, peanut butter, crackers. I am allowed about 1/2c. at a time right now. Does everyone stick to a carb and/or calorie count? Just trying to figure out how to manage.
  17. I'm really struggling with my vitins and calcium. I try to choke them down but the taste and chalky texture almost make me puke!!! I tried chopping then up bur someone said they don't absorb right like that. Please help!
  18. I was sleeved 4 weeks ago and you're attitude and thoughts about food will change completely after the sleeve. Your life won't revolve around those things anymore. I even had a bachelorette party and a wedding....still had an amazing time without feeling left out! You will be okay!

    NEED ADVICE

I had the Same feelings after mine. It will get better soon. Have you tried warm liquids? Cold things made my new stomach feel like it was on fire. The warm liquids seemed to sit much better. Good luck!

    Post Op Diet

My Doc has a strict regimen we advance. By week 2 I was allowed cottage cheese, eggs, yogurt, pudding, thick soup, blended oatmeal. Then at week 4 I get to add meat again! Plus peanut butter, cheese, etc. It sounds a little strange And shady. Sorry for your long liquid phase!
  22. I agree, I think those feelings are normal, especially in the first week. I am 3 weeks out and by week 2, those feelings were gone and now I am feeling much better about everything. Hand in there, it will get better!

    throat gurgles

I think it is pretty normal. If you think about it your esophagus and stomach are basically one long, connected tube. If we overeat, even a couple bites or swallow air it is going to come up your throat. That's my logic anyway.
  24. I am an emotional eater and have actually been relieved post-sleeve. My hunger is basically gone so honestly, I don't think about eating, even emotionally. I have had the chance to cheat and I havent. I think this surgery changes your cues which in turn has released me from my hold on food. It is amazing. I hav also vowed to seek counselin if those feelings return. Good luck, you will do great!
  25. How did you feel afterwards....stuffed?
