Welcome, Texas girl. I am in Dallas and scheduled to be banded Aug. 31. Have some dear friends in Sydney. I understand that Australia is the blue ribbon of lapband surgery, so you should be in excellent hands. I've read all of Rojassanoll's posts. He is recently banded and gives great advice. Also, he knows so much about banding through his own research and his sister works for Allergan ( I think) so he knows a lot about banding. Nice to hear others experiences. Best of luck.

I'm sorry your bf feels that way. Perhaps he's threatened by your possible success or his lack of control. You might want to lose some real weight fast and get rid of him. Lol. Just kidding. Have u tried before and it didn't work? Time after time did the weight come back? Me, too. We are to be banded the same day. Good luck with your decision, no matter what it may be.

I am self pay and didn't have to have any pre-tests. I could have had it anytime after the 7-10 day pre-op South Beach diet, but chose to wait unto 8/31 to enjoy the last month of the pool.

I'm 5'5" and 213. Goal is 135. Being banded 8/31/12. Dr.'s pre-op diet is South Beach Supercharged for 7-10 days before banding. Liquids day before surgery. I started the diet on Aug 2 to get a jump start, but still having my wine in the evening. So far so good.

I fell off Aug 31. Good luck to those getting banded today. Everyone please post your post- op status and experiences!! Praying.

So joannedt, now that you are banded, how are you doing? Your post spoked to me, as your feelings are exactly mine. My husband and I have cocktails every evening together. We eat out every night. It's what we do. My BMI is 35. I don't want to give up quality of life just quantity of fat. I think one of my biggest fears is my husband being saddened that I will be changing a few things about how I eat. I'm determined to make it work and successful for us both.

Anyone know how long the powdered protein remains good? I've had some in my cabinet for about a year. It has been opened.

I'm worried about being grouchy during pre-op? Any hints or suggestions?

My surgery is set for Sept. 20. Pre-op class is Sept 7. Also have stress test and upper GI on the 7th.

Doing great! Just came back from a 3 week road trip. Two days behind on my pre-op, but tomorrow I start with 2 shakes and a Lean Cuisine. Having a few thoughts of chickening out. Our lifestyle is so weird! We love our cocktail hour and going out to dinner. I'm afraid it's going to be hard for me and my husband. Just wondering if It's worth it. I can do it, I know. Hope I don't get grouchy!!! So glad you had a great time on the cruise!

Hey y'all! Good to hear from Texans, and Dallasites! I'm getting sleeved Sept. 20 at Forest Park by Dr. James Davidson. Start my pre-op on Sept 1. Mine is 2 shakes and a Lean Cuisine. Told to lose 10 lbs. Anyone heard of this pre-op diet plan? My orientation is Sept. 7, along with an upper GI and a stress test. Gonna b a long day! I'm a Senior Sleever at 61.

How wonderful for you! So happy to hear you are doing well. My date is Sept. 20. I am excited, but apprehensive at the same time. I am almost 61. I'm more worried how it will affect my husband than myself. We are very social and eat out every night. I know I can make this work
