While trying to find anything to help with gas pains following surgery on 8/31, remembered someone had given me a popcorn sleeve that can be heated in microwave. It's about 18" x 5". You heat in microwave for less than 2 minutes. Best thing is u can wrap around your neck or put in localized area. Really helps. Bet u could put loose popcorn in a sock and close top of sock somehow.

I'm also interested in the different cuisines. I know that most places have fish, but not BBQ restaurants, generally. Chinese has salmon usually and egg drop soup is a good choice, but we can't all eat shrimp. Wondering what other choices are good at Chinese places.

True Results-Richardson,tx?

I got mine 8/31 there. It was absolutely great! Had a great care staff. In at 7:30, home by 11:00. Who is your doctor? Mine was Dr. Fox. -
Doing well, Harleymelm. Banded Friday. Only issue has been CO 2 gas. Walking and using heating pad, hoping it subsides soon. Today first day of protein drinks. 30 minutes for 6 ounces, but not there yet. Day after tomorrow can add V-8 and thin soups. Wonder if Spicy Hot V-8 's ok. Love the stuff, warm or cold.

I love Leslie Sansone, as well. Not able to do the 5 mile yet, but am hoping to get there soon.

You are lucky, Charles! I had the surgery Friday. Surgery was a breeze, even with a hiatal hernia repair. However, the gas pains have been brutal. I took Gas-X, but the gas I'm experiencing isn't intestinal, it's the CO 2 used to extend the abdominal cavity and must be absorbed by the body. Walking helps, but some experience the CO 2 pain more than others, even when following doctor's orders to a T. So glad for you, though!

Love your picture RobinGirl! So cute!

I bet that's even better. No worries about the popping and the smell of the popcorn on post-op clear liquids is brutal! Lol

According to the directions, you put in the microwave for less than two minutes. It didn't pop in mine, but could depend on each microwave. I guess you can adjust as needed.

4 Days Post Op And 17 Pounds Gone
Nanu replied to newbie1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my goodness! Surgery last Friday! Doing great except for this gas in the shoulder and chest. Really tough. Walking in the house, but not much space to do that. 100 degrees outside, so not an option there. As far as coffee, my doctor said I could include coffee or tea immediately as long as no milk with it. He didn't care if it was with caf or decaf. This is day 3 and get to add protein drinks and shakes for next two days, then thin cream soups and V-8 juice. -
I was just banded yesterday by Dr. Fox in Dallas. Doing fine except for the trapped gas from the surgery. It's been brutal.

I,too, have chest pain. I did have a hernia repair and wonder if that might be part of it. It feels similar to when I had the pain from reflux before surgery, although I never had the actual liquid come in my throat or mouth. It hurts, I know that. Was banded yesterday. I've taken Gaviscon, Gas-X, and Pepcid. Sitting up in bed helps, but sure wish it would subside.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks so much for your prayers and good wishes. Went in today at 7:30 and was on my way home at 11:00 a.m. Everything went smoothly...no pain, other than a little gas in the left shoulder. Water going down just fine. Wonderful care team and a piece of cake, so far. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hey, guys. Just thought I'd let you know I ordered the sample packs of Unjury on the Internet. I just tried the Strawberry Sorbet. It's 100 calories and 21 grams of protein. The cool thing is that you can add it to Crystal Light and it's great. Sometimes I get really tired of the milky shakes. The vanilla and chocolate can be added to milk, but can also be added to coffee or iced coffee...it's a least a nice option. In the sample pack, you get two of vanilla, chocolate, unflavored, strawberry and chicken soup. You might give it a go if you like to try something different.

Hey, there, Tonyann! Love those two-names, names! Mine is Nan Leigh. It's a Southern thing. lol I just got mine yesterday and only have tried the Strawberry Sorbet, so far. I think the Unjury website has recipes. I was reading the insert that came in the box and it mentions adding to to sauces, cereal, salad dressings. I'm not sure. Maybe adding to ready-made shakes to up the protein or adding only half a serving or a sprinkle here and there to up the protein??? I'm not sure...I'm a newbie. Being banded tomorrow. It does warn not to heat over 140 degrees or it will clump, so your soup and coffee, etc. can't be too hot. Anyone else have any ideas??

I've heard that drinking water is the worst thing you can do. Mayasgram, what does the benadryl do? -

Anyone had a colonoscopy after being banded? Is there anything special you had to do?

I'm Friday, too.

Good luck today, everyone! I finally figured out how to reply with my IPhone! Yea!!!

Good afternoon, all. Just wanted to take a moment to apologize for not wishing those who have had surgery this month "Good Wishes." I read everything on my IPhone, but have yet to figure out how to respond using the phone. Not to tecki, lol. At any rate, I'm back to the desktop and wanted you all to know how great it is to hear the updates and to know you all came through to start your new journey toward health. I'm being banded on 8/31 and am a bit apprehensive. The negatives on some of the sites, and all the revisions to the sleeve, really weigh on my mind. However, I'm determined to make the best of my choice and know that I can always go to the more drastic should a problem occur. For those of you who are recently banded, thanks so much for your updates as it takes a lot of the fear away, hearing how you are and what's happening with you. For those of you, like me, who will be banded in the next week...best of luck and prayers are coming your way. Nanu in Dallas
