Anyone try EnergC powder? Feeling like I'm getting sick and trying to fight it off. It says it's a fizzy drink, but I mixed it and all the fizz went away
-
I would, but it's the weekend.

Floridays, I'm with you. I am 5'5" and my dr wants me at 150, which is on the high level of the normal BMI for my height. I would like to be 135. But, I am 62 and don't want to look even older and drawn, so will have to see. It's hard for me to see how I really look. People will say not to lose any more, but I'm still 15 lbs from 150. Guess, to them, I look different and like I've lost a lot. So far, right at 50 lost, but not at normal BMI. -
I found the adult version at CVS. I bought the generic and it works well. It 's just so darn sweet. Good luck, headaches are the worst.

Cash pay from OK heading to Dallas- NERVES
Nanu replied to stephmccurley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know Dr. Fox does do the sleeve, but I think True Results is a LB specialty surgery center. I also went to a dr. before I went to Dr. Fox and his staff pushed me toward the sleeve. I was scheduled for VSG and them cancelled. I hope all turns out well!! -
Cash pay from OK heading to Dallas- NERVES
Nanu replied to stephmccurley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I paid right at 10,000. (A bit less) for total surgery, which included 1 year aftercare (fills) and I didn't have to have any pre-testing and he put me on 2 wk South Beach diet prior to surgery. I didn't have to do psych or anything but visit with dietician. He repaired a hernia, which my insurance paid that part and he accepted it. Dr. Fox did mine. I like him very much. I thought you had already made your decision. I first visited another doctor that pushed me toward sleeve. I signed up, but chickened out. Am happy with my decision. Started at 213. Surgery 8/31. Current weight 166. Goal 150 for Dr. 135 for me. Best of luck. -

Don't know who is doing your surgery, but I had mine done at TrueResults inRichardson and am very happy. Most doctors I researched in Dallas were all very competent. Good luck! -

Anyone know why the port area gets sore? I exercise, but that doesn't seem to have a correlation.

Not that I remember, Chez. I always get alarmed, usually for no reason. Just don't want any issues with BettyBand. She's been so good to me.

Pass the Small Fork...
Nanu replied to Destined*Lady*D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've found that a shrimp cocktail fork works really well for me. -
Why is it bad? If you are on solids and it fits into your calorie or volume allowance, it's fine. Of course you could have made a different choice, but don't beat yourself up. Monitor and adjust. It's a lifestyle, not a diet.

Thanks, Cheryl! I needed to hear that! The stress of feeling like you are a failure if you don 't exercise an hour+ a day is wearing on me. I'm afraid it's going to backfire.

Will I Ever Hit the Green Zone
Nanu replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Donna, I have the same questions. I go in tomorrow to see aftercare and hoping for .5 cc. My worst hunger time is about 6:00 pm at night. We eat late, which I don't like, but that's the way it is. We usually have lunch around 2:00. We eat out almost every night, which makes measuring difficult. I've started asking for a bread and butter plate and move my portions from the large plate to the bread and butter plate so I can really see what I'm eating. I wish there was a mini scale you could take with you that wasn't so conspicuous. -
Wow, many of the goods on your list are the foods my doctor and dietician recommend. I couldn't make it without my solid proteins like fish and ground beef. Also beans are a staple for me. Everyone is different, though, I realize. I can eat rice at this point, but don't because of carb content. Haven't tried popcorn or pasta.

Wonderful!!! Congrats!

Which foods to avoid for new bands
Nanu replied to Sav22age's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about poached eggs? I always wondered why popcorn was on the no-no list of some doctors. I love the Healthy Jolly Time and really miss it. -
Wow!! I drink wine every evening with no problems since about 3 wks out. Not sure what's causing your nausea. Perhaps you should check with your doctor.

Hynita, when u say 50% of your body weight, did the doctor mean 50% of the weight you had to lose or 50% of your starting weight?
