I have been a type 1 diabetic for 28 years, insulin dependent, pancreas not working at all. Due to over use of insulin I gained weight and got up to 295 pounds. I hated it and wanted to become normal sized. Someone suggested the lap band to me and three years later I went with it. The surgery went well, the recovery difficult. I have a team of help dealing with my diabetes and blood sugars it is me, myself, and I. They listen the best, consider all the factors most carefully, and are there for me for minute to minute adjustments. I have been working on losing weight for the last four years and have lost only 66 pounds. I have now set the goal of 150 pounds for one year from now.
