Surgery Without Aftercare
Sweet Pee replied to Proud2BMe's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I never had to follow up with my primary physician here in the States after my surgery in Mexico. I too did not have insurance, so I make sure I stayed well connected with this group. It helped to answer many questions. I also took my Vitmins, and made sure my nutrient intake was high even though I could not hold very much in my tiny tummy. Instead of sweet Popsicles I chose to juice easy to digest green veggies and fruit. It also help me heal faster. Later on when I did get insured, my labs were perfect. -

questions for my plant based friends
Sweet Pee replied to zsnaani's topic in Vegetarian or Vegan Eating
I use organic Protein powder and it is great. It is called Fit365 www.fit365.com (Kyle Brown) (858)794-7777. He developed this Protein Powder just for picky people like me. (Smile) Grass-Fed Whey Protein (21g) Coconut Oil High Fiber Live Probiotics Gluten Free Non-GMO Soy Free Low Glycemic I was very concerned about using whey powder, especially since I try to eat organic when ever I can. However, many whey Proteins never claim to be organic and taste great at the same time. This one is and you can taste the difference. It is clean and taste great like I said before. I bought the vanilla bean and it blends with about anything. It is very filling too. -
Digesting large quantizes of meat is impossible for me. My tummy is tiny now, so when I eat, I better get as many dense nutrients in it as I can. I can only drink so many shakes, but I love a big green salad which provides me with rich nutrients and protein for my body.

swollen 8 weeks post plastci surgery.....
Sweet Pee replied to evobuilder's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Swelling will continue for many months. Sometimes up to 12-18 months for some people. Your compression garment is your best friend at this point and you may have to buy several smaller ones as your swelling continue to go down. Many have benefited from Lymphatic Drainage Massage, which helps speed up healing and reduce edema. There are several YouTube demonstrations which shows how you can do it yourself. -
Arm lift...yay or nay? Are scars or wings worse?
Sweet Pee replied to AvaFern's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had my arm lift 6 months ago. My scars are healing nice and flat. My surgical tape was taken off 10 days after surgery, and my scars were already flat. Now, 6 months later I notice my scars are slightly pink on some days, then on other days I can just barely see them. I think they have a mind of their on. (Smile). I was more afraid of this surgery because of the visible scaring, but thankfully I am healing very well and barely notice them. -

Plastic surgeon in Mexico arrested for Cocaine...
Sweet Pee replied to tpierce's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Communicate often with the plastic surgeon and any of his past patients. Dr Victor Gutierrez is a wonderful caring physician/plastic surgeon as well. I can not express with words the level of care and compassion that I received. My every need was cared for over 100%. I can not imagine going to any other plastic surgeon. His education is also impressive, because he specializes in micro surgery, which means minimum scaring. All incisions are internal and scars heal beautiful. He will be there for you before and well after your surgery. (On a side note) Just out of curiosity, I Googled "doctors arrested for drugs." Now that scared me. There seemed to be a story reported almost daily of doctors over here in the US being arrested. Doctors even have their own drug rehab facilities that they go to. It is amazing! It is good to be cautious about any doctor, no matter the country. -
I am happy I strengthen my core and leg muscle, because it is not a good idea to use the arms when getting up from the bed. Also strong legs are a great help for standing up without using the arms.

You absolutely should NOT be better now. (Smile) Don't rush yourself. Healing takes time. Sorry about the itch. I know that makes things worse. Muscle/Hernia repair can be painful. Relaxing pain meds can really be helpful.

Congratulations on having plastic surgery. Plastic surgery like any surgery is not easy, but very rewarding, and can be painful for some people. I had plastic surgery with very minimal pain and used over-the-counter pain meds for about 3 or 4 days. I continued to take Arnica which was given to me by Dr Victor Gutierrez my plastic surgeon. Everyone pain tolorance is different. I know I hate being in any kind of pain. Try to take it easy. I was told to stay off my feet and to do as little as possible. I was also advised to wear my compression garment 24/7. If you feel your pain is not normal, please do not hesitate to contact your plastic surgeon. Take care and congratulations again on your plastic surgery. Please keep us updated on your progress. Sweet Pee

Dr. Salk Monterrey Mexico Gosculptura
Sweet Pee replied to prettypinkcowgirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Dr Victor Gutierrez is my plastic surgeon, and he did all of my surgical work. Wow, I wish I could recommend another plastic surgeon that I felt sure would give you awesome results. I have put many hours into researching hundreds and hundreds of plastic surgeons, because I wanted the best results possible. I also needed one who knew how to do body sculpting after massive weigh loss. I live near Dallas as well, and I understand what you are going through. If I come across a name or find out more information about the plastic surgeons that you mention, I will be sure to let you know. -
Lacking genuine support but hearing horror stories
Sweet Pee replied to Shell88's topic in Rants & Raves
Hang in there Shell88. You sound like a strong woman. Your story is encouraging and inspiring countless of other people to be brave and strong. Thinking back, I did not have any support either, but reading about others who went at this alone helped me to push forward and never look back. -
questions for my plant based friends

I started juicing time I got home. I was juicing before my sleeve and right after my sleeve I began juicing again. It is the best way to get nutrients, especially now that I have a tiny tummy. Many "professionals" do not understand how easy it is to digest that wonderful bunch of kale, cucumbers, carrots, green apples, beets, celery and a host of other wonderful fruits and vegetables. I know what is best for my body, and juicing one of my top priorities. It keeps me healthy and strong. Juicing also keeps my yearly check-up normal when I have bloodwork. I would advise anyone to juice. -
Miss Craig's Face-Saving Exercises; A 6-Day Plan Which Teaches You How to Naturally Lift the Sagging Muscles of the Face This is the book I use. I personally think it is the best.

Sweet Pee replied to Shell88's topic in Rants & Raves
Do what is BEST for YOU!!!! YOU are the most IMPORTANT person in the world. If you take care of yourself, then everything else will fall into place. Sometimes taking care of yourself means not listening to those who are closes to us, Even if they "mean well" For those of us that has had the weight loss surgery, is it easy? NO It does not matter how a person chooses to lose weight, it is never easy. Stay focused and stay positive and stay here on this forum. Sending positive vibes and energy your way. -
Facial exercises has worked wonders for me. Just like exercise (running and weight lifting) has tighten up some places on my body prior to having plastic surgery, it has helped my entire face improve up to 70%. I look younger and my face is getting tighter, fuller and has lifted. Amazing!!! There are so many facial exercising books on the market. I got my book from Amazon.

Congratulations!! You are looking amazing!!

LBL, swelling in calves and ankles?
Sweet Pee replied to sarsar's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Even though your doctor is not requiring you to wear a compression garnment, please think about investing in a really good snug fitting Stage 1 Compression Garment. It can really make a huge difference. I also found information on the web about improving the lymphatic system, which has numerous things you can do. I know I was barely moving after my surgery, so the only thing I could do was take a Water Pill that I got from my local health food store, lay down, kick my feet up and watch Netflix. That was very helpful for me early on! Take it easy, stay off your feet and rest as much as possible. Remember, anything you need to do TODAY, can surely wait until TOMORROW. (Smile) Happy Healing!
