Three years after gastric sleeve and I'm at a stand still and still have NOT lost what I want!
Sweet Pee replied to Erica Brownlee's topic in Rants & Raves
@@CowgirlJane Thank you for telling me this. You are right. I really appreciate you telling me this. I sure was not trying to minimize her huge weight loss achievement. Sorry if it sounded that way. Starting at a weight 100lbs higher than what I started at makes a significant difference in weight loss, and the reality of how much a person can loose. I do not know my BMI when I had my weight loss surgery. I only have my starting weight before my surgery which was about around 270lbs. (I've weighted more that 270lbs a time or two) After the pre-op diet, I weighed in at 242lbs right before my sleeve. I have continued to be successful because of my green leafy plant and fruit way of eating, (I do eat some meats) which I know is not popular among the WLS community, however it works for me. I no longer have to struggle. Maybe if one thing does not work, trying something a little different may help others who may be struggling. That is all I was trying to say:-) -

I am 4 years out and my currently weight is 129lbs. I am able to maintain my goal weight because I stick closely to eating tons of green vegetables, fruits, nuts and Beans along with a bit of occasional meat. (Geeen food offers plenty of protein) Otherwise, I look at food and gain weight. I follow Dr. Matthew Weiner the author of, "A Pound of Cure." He is also a baratric surgeon with informative YouTube videos. (Great Book) I encourage you to read it cover to cover. Dr. Joel Furhman is another doctor that I have followed, even before my WLS. Great website. Wonderful books. Helps me stay on track. Joe Cross introduced me to juicing. I juice daily. Fresh green juice resets the body and helps with hunger, craving and weigh loss. "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" can be watched for free. Do a quick search on the internet. Drink lots of Water. Water Water Water There may be something else going on medically, so I encourage you to see your doctor. -

Yes, I was a runner pre plastics. My speed was slower, but I finished! Isn't that what counts: Setting and Reaching our personal goals. My goal was crossing the finish line. You can do it! -
Best Plastic Surgeons in Mexico?
Sweet Pee replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was very fortunate to have a excellent plastic surgeon. My skin healed beautifully because of the expert internal sutures. -
I hated my loose skin. Took care of that as soon as I could! I feel sexier and my clothes fit better.

Back to Running After Tummy Tuck + Panni
Sweet Pee replied to livvsmum's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I ran a 15K nine months after my lower body lift and breast lift. It took a lot of training, but I was able to do it. Just listen to your body. There is a lot of inside healing going on inside your body. Healing requires energy, which takes away from the stamina/energy which you need to run as you were accustomed to. Try to give it a little more time and be patient with your body. You will get there. Happy running, Sweet Pee -
There is a huge price gap. I chose Mexico not because of price, but because of a specific plastic surgeon I wanted to use. Try to make a short list of surgeons based on their reviews and skills. Then narrow it down buy price:-)

You will not have any regrets. Best decision I made.

My plastic surgeon gave me an extremely tight fitting compression garment and instructed that I wear it 24/7. I had to keep buying smaller sizes each time one would get smaller. This helped considerably with swelling for me. -

You are looking good. It take a while for the swelling to go down sometimes, but be patient and take it slow. Happy Healing:) -
Long Term VSG Sleevers?

@@cmhueto Very exciting. Let us know how it goes when you feel up to it. -
I had so many consultations in the States before I chose my current plastic surgeon. At the time, they told me they could do a tummy tuck and a breast lift at the same time. However, those are just the surgeons I interviewed. I guess it is going to depend on the surgeon. Some have two surgeons working together, which speeds up the process and they can do more surgical work in a shorter amount of time. Others work alone. In child birth, when I had to have a C-section , I was fully awake and remember every moment. I felt the doctor tugging and felt it when she pulled my precious baby out. I also felt when I was being sewn up, and had a nice long conversation with my doctor when she was working. I wish I could have witnessed it my self instead of that big blue sheet covering up everything :-). With Twilight, I only remember bits and pieces and was asleep for the most part, (I Think:). It was nice waking up knowing everything was going ok with the surgery, then falling back to sleep again.

Twilight sedation is the best! Last year during my thigh and arm lift surgery, I woke up a few times talking to my anesthesiologist and taping my finger with the 'red thingy' on it to the beat. Yes, the doctor had some really good music playing. I remember asking the anesthesiologist if he would take some pictures of me. I brought my camera into the operating room. He took several pictures. Very nice memories. I saw the doctor working, but I did not want to disturb him; he looked busy :-) :-) Next thing I know, the surgery is over, and I feel refreshed and well rested.
