I went to TJ for my PS. I live in Texas also. I was in the air only 2.5 hours on the plane to San Diego. It was well worth it for me. -

Two weeks from Plastics - progress so far
Sweet Pee replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You are looking great Jane. You are doing great not to rush into exercise. I can only walk, which is something I am not use to doing, but I know my body is still in the healing process, even though it has been 5 months. Everyone does not heal at the same rate. I know when my husband gets a cut on his hand, three days later if has completely healed, but whenever I get just a small, tiny cut on my hand, it takes 3 weeks to heal. I am the slowest healer ever! Whenever you are ready, your body will know let you know. GelZone is great! I like use Tamanu oil and Rose oil on my scars before I wrap up with the GelZone. Thank you for the pictures, and updates about your plastics. Smile. -
Yes, I like the custom made ones better than 'one size fits all.' However, there are no returns on items that are custom made. http://www.taylorgarments.com

Taylor & Taylor on eBay sell this item. I have ordered from them before, but it was sleeveless and thigh length. It is one of my favorites. The item shown also comes in long sleeves and ankle length and in various colors. The fabric is soft, yet it does compress very well. I plan on having mine custom made, because I need extra compression in my abs and butt area due to my surgery to keep everything in place while it is healing. They do have a phone number where you can call them directly to place special orders. That way you can give them your measurements and have it made just for you. They are very nice! Smile

I will get that information for you soon. Let me look them up again, because it has gotten cold and I need to place an order. Smile.

Hello Susie, I just hate it when no one responds. Although I can not be of any help regarding this plastic surgeon, I really wish you the best in your search for a PS. Let me know how it is going, or if you need any help. I know you have been looking for for a while now. I would have sent you a personal message, but it does not seem to be working right now. I guess when it is up and running again I will. Anyway, Take care and I hope talk to you soon. Sweetpee

Silicon has really helped my LBL scar as well as having a very skilled surgeon. I use GelZone.com wrap for my LBL. I wish I had known about it for my VS scar, because it would have made them almost disappear. Well, I live and learn. I did not do anything for my VS scars and I regret it now. I am glad you are thinking ahead. -

I think PS really take special care as to how they sew, tape, or glue us up. My LBL flat scar has almost blended into my natural light brown skin color. It is just a little darker. It looks much better than my VS scars. My VS scars look exactly like Laura's too. I did not treat my VS scars with silicon wraps, and now they are raised and dark. They will still be there even after a TT or LBL just a little lower. My advice - treat them now while they are still fairly new, then later when you have plastics, they will not be as noticeable. I plan on asking my PS for scar treatment on my VS scars when I see him again because nothing I do is helping. Of course my VS was back in 2011. :-). :-) :-) Also when you are ready for plastic surgery, be sure to choose a doctor that understands and frequently work with those of us with tan pigmentation. They understand any mistakes will show up! -

Congratulations on making it a few days. Lately with the cooler weather coming, I forget to drink Water. The thirst and hunger mechanisms feel the same. I have to watch myself, because when I think I am hungry, I am really thirsty. -

Tape: I cried too. Loud! My skin came off! I have very very thin skin too. I thought the husband was going to rush me to the hospital. My PCP worked a hour on my sutures. There were some he and the nurse could not get out, so they sent me to a surgeon. It took the surgeon less than 5 seconds to remove the rest of my sutures. Good thing my body was still numb. I did not feel a thing :-)
