Hi everyone, second fill today! I tried to convince her to do 2 cc's, but she wouldn't, only 1 cc (tried the 1.5, still no dice, LOL). But the good news is that I can go back in 3 weeks instead of 4, and that will put me within the still free fills (3 months after surgery all fills are free). So I'm at 7 cc's in a 14 cc band. I don't feel any different yet, but hopefully it will come!

Hi mish, I have been doing that about once every 10 days or so, have more calories than usual, just over a bit, not too much. We'll see if I plateau. Kymie, bummer! I haven't been stuck yet, glad you're seeing the doc tomorrow. My second fill is tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how it goes.
-
NJ2NC- happy birthday! Good for you. I'm with u on the cup sizes, LOL. And awesome at lane bryant. Kymie- do you think that 800 might be a little low? Don't throw your body into starvation mode. Lucky u, third fill! My second is on Monday. Meredith, I agree, this is a marathon, not a Sprint. We have to deal with the tough times in life without resorting to old behaviors. My goals today are to do my elliptical, and not snack! And not drink during meals, that's a hard one for me.

Yep, I'm in the triangle. We really like Rex, but Duke is a good place, highly recommended and I really liked the Dr. As long as they don't sterilize anything in hydrolic fluid, LOL.

Hi Horsegirl- you can turn this around! You have lost 27 lbs!! That is awesome, please don't discount your success! It's a process with fills and getting to your sweet spot. Chrissylu- great advice! We were banded a day apart (I'm 1/26). Mags- good to see you! Any loss is significant, ya know? Hopefully they will give you a fill and you'll get to your sweet spot. Nicole- I agree that right now, we're losing mostly (probably not all) on our own. I hope some of your de-stressing strategies work!! NJ2NC- My doc did 1 cc last time, who knows what they'll do MOnday- I was going to ask for 2 cc's, but be happy with 1, LOL. I really like the Mirena, hope it works for you too. DH had another Dr appt at Duke today- 3rd stage congestive heart failure- but potentially reversible. So we're doing drug therapy and then another pacemaker if necessary, and hopefully that works....but the potentially reversible was good news . Now time for lunch- Wendy's chili!!

I was never told of any.........

I know I'm a day early, but today was WID and I am down 4 lbs!! I am officially at 250!! 5 lbs below my goal! Thanks so much, Larry, for doing these challenges, they really keep me on track and accountable.

-
Yay! Down 4 lbs last week! Total of 34 lbs since pre-op diet. I really think exercise is helping my metabolism a lot! It is so rewarding to see the scale go down.

Nicole- that is stressful! Are all the kids but the 22 year old yours? Maybe 1 or 2 days a week you can leave things in the fridge they can heat up and you can go to the library and read a magazine, or go to the gym, or those are the days of your class. I promise, at those ages they won't starve to death, LOL. Good luck. Or just come home and feed them and then declare some mom time? Try different things! Otaknam- Don't be nervous about your appointment, they're here to help you be successful. This is a process, don't forget, and you're only 2 or so months out!!! Give yourself credit and patience

For The Ladies Who Have Also Had Csections.....
JustDoIt130 replied to Kerra's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had 3 c-sections- this was way better. And I didn't think the c-sections were all that bad, considering. The incisions aren't where they hurt like they do with a c-section, sitting up from a lying down position doesn't make you want to cry, LOL. I had lots of gas with my first c-section, not as much with my second 2, and the gas with my lap band was minimal. Just walk a lot. -
Singing In The Choir After Surgery??
JustDoIt130 replied to Ready2BFit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should be able to, the first 3 days were harder, then it got better, by day 7 or 8 I was feeling great. You'll be several days post-op, so it should be fine!! Good luck, I am so happy with the band and know you will be too. -
Wow, my 2 month bandiversary was yesterday. TIme flies!! I'm so glad I did it when I did, now with my DH's heart issues he'd be less inclined to be supportive of a surgery. I am losing weight, but I am SO HUNGRY between meals! It's truly willpower that's helping me, not so much the band- though I knew this would be the case in the beginning. It is motivating to lose weight, for sure. Val, I have 6 cc's in my 14 cc band, I go for a fill on Monday, would love to convince them to put 2 cc's in, but they'll probably only do 1. But I'll take what I can get. So far I haven't really had any bumps in my road (knock on wood) other than having trouble swallowing a big Vitamin pill I"ve been taking, even when I cut it in half. Maybe I'll cut it into quarters, LOL. Meredith- yep, gotta get your head in the game- fending off head hunger is a full time job for me in the evenings. THat's why I try to save 200 calories for some full sugar pudding. I need to try the sugar free, but really want to enjoy it, LOL. How is everyone else? Call out to Mags2u, where are you? I"ve seen you on the spring challenge, but miss you here!! Post, girls (and B-52, LOL, or any other January men), there's safety in numbers

Rockon, that's awesome! How much is in your band now? Nicole, I know, we're all on different schedules. I have my second fill next monday. I' can't wait! I have 6 cc's in my band (14 cc band). My weekend was good- kids all lice free, LOL. And I worked out 6 out of 7 days- goal is 5, so awesome!
-
I started at 284 on 1/26/12, so this is so inspiring to me! Now I KNOW it can be done!!!!! Wow, size 14, that is awesome, I can't wait- and it sounds like we have around the same ending goal. That is so great, and I will keep you in mind!!!

I love mine, have had none of the aforementioned side effects. I have had hair issues lately, but attribute it to the surgery, since I've had it for 3 years and no issues. I can't take regular bc due to clotting issues, and I got preggers on the low estrogen pill.
-
Jayeedee, happy birthday!! And good for you on the cake. I too find that a day of a few more calories every now and then gets my metabolism going too. Tell me what you think of the fitbit, I think I want one for my birthday too. Ready, I love this forum too, no one irl knows about my surgery except DH and my immediate family, so its nice to have people I can talk to!

Otaknam, I think that a protein shake in the morning when you feel tight is okay, that's what I do. Anything to get protein in and keep it down. I don't know what to tell you about the weight loss, but keep it up and don't give up!!!!! Clothes getting looser is indicative of getting smaller! Kymie, my out of pocket was about $2000, thank goodness for my flex spending account. Wish it were less, very glad it wasn't more, LOL. Well, done with delousing my children, boy do I love being a mother. That same day DH was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. It's been quite a week. They're increasing his meds, if that doesn't work they'll give him a different pace maker than the one he already has (he has trouble with his heart's electrical system, and now the CHF), luckily those things usually work. If not, we're talking about a heart transplant. But I'm not stress eating!! I can't wait until my fill on April 2!!!!

Unjury Protein Shakes
JustDoIt130 replied to Ready2BFit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the unjury vanilla with Trop 50 orange juice and ice, tastes like an orange juilus. I bet mixing in frozen strawberries instead of the ice would be good too, I"ll have to try that -
Ok Guys.. What Was In Your Menu Today?
JustDoIt130 replied to JennyBee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Breakfast- unjury chocolate shake Lunch- 4 oz cooked chicken, 1/2 c refried Beans Dinner- not sure yet, but under 350 calories Snack at night - 2 full sugar Jello puddings Total less than 1100 -
If you feel like you are able to change your eating and exercise habits, if you know this is a tool and not a magic bullet, if you're motivated to lose the weight and have the band help maintain, then this is for you. If you're not willing to make changes this is not the surgery for you. I will tell you, as a classic stress eater/emotional eater, it's been hard changing but I finally decided it was time to just do it (hence my screen name, LOL). It's been great, I've lost 30 lbs since mid January. Be mindful that you may lose more slowly than someone like me who is very overweight at the beginning. It will probably by slow but steady. Good luck!!!

Shonda, welcome! You're definitely not a failure. It's white knuckling it until you reach restriction, so you're doing great! Kymie, I have a goal of 1300, and try not to go over that even with exercise. So I look at calories I'm, but not calories out. I used to use exercise as a reason I could eat more, so I'm trying to avoid that. If I do go a smidge over, but have exercised, I don't sweat it. Ugh, both little kids have lice!!! Never in my life has this happened!! My oldest is 21 so I hadn't even thought of this! Apparently there's a lot going around the elementary school. So I had to leave work and pick up my 4 year old from preschool and deal with him and my 7 year old daughter who has really long hair!!! Aaaargh!! LOL Oh, Kymie, I forgot to say congrats on getting exercise in early!!

Birth Control Pills
JustDoIt130 replied to myjourneyagain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live the mirena iud- good for 5 years, no issues. I can't have estrogen because I had some blood clot issues. It is stress and worry free!! And I hardly have my Tom- its rare, and light when i do have it. I don't even have to use tampons or pads- a pantiliner works great! -
Yah, its a double edged sword, to be tight but not too tight but tight enough, LOL. Keep us posted!!
