Okay, Kymie it is- that will give us a goal to get to in a little over a month. I want to be 231 by June 1. That is my goal!!!That is 10 lbs from now, and I've been spending about 4 weeks per "decade." I started a little note on my notepad app to keep track of my goals for this group so I don't have to go find things back in the thread, LOL. ChrissyLu- awesome NSV and SV's at the doctor!!!!

Hi everyone! I had a meeting luncheon today- luckily they had salmon, I had a little of that, a little piece of chicken and some salad. Hard to guesstimate calories! Elizabeth, you'll get there!!! My birthday is in July- do we have anyone in May or June? I had a goal to lose 50 lbs by my b-day of the 4th, but that's only 6 lbs, so I think I'll shoot for 55 lbs gone by my birthday. Bunches to do at work, kid dentist appt in 2 hours, gotta go work, LOL!

ChrissyLu- Celebrate with a protein shake!!! Happy happy healthy birthday!!! Recap- I honestly don't remember what my 5 lbs was- I know I surpassed it though. WID was 240 today! Meredith- can I get your take on the fitbit? Is it really just a good pedometer, or will it count the calories I burn by doing Zumba, etc- and if it counts all calories through the day how would I know what I was burning just for a specific activity (I hope that makes sense). I've been thinking about getting one, but I'm really sedentary during the day with no real way to increase it, but do my elliptical and zumba- so don't really want "just" a pedometer- I just want to know what you use it for and how you like it- also the amazon reviews have talked about some issues with the durability of it- what do you think? My hair started falling out about a month after surgery- hairbrush fulls, also some weird breakage. I have lots of hair, but it freaked me out! I started taking 7000 mcg biotin (1 1000 mcg in the am, 1 5000 mcg at lunch, 1 1000 mcg at night), and also L-lysine (I had just read it helped, but it's a HUGE pill I have to break in half). I have noticed a significant decrease in the hair loss- almost back to normal, and no breakage. I have always gotten in my protein, but still had the hair loss issue. Funny enough, after all 3 of my c-sections I didn't have any hair loss.

N2animals- I hope you get unfilled today!!! I'm from North Carolina. Shonda- don't be disgusted with yourself and I'd strongly suggest that you not stop going for fills, either. Those are what will get you to the spot where it isn't so much you and your willpower, but the band actually can do what it is designed to do- assist with your weight loss! Really it is a process, so don't stress out- and don't beat yourself up about it. Just commit. Are you tracking your food? Exercising? Really look at yourself and be honest with yourself and it will happen. NJ2NC- glad you're okay! I'm definitely not looking forward to learning that lesson!! Meredith, glad you're okay! I have not really felt much different with this last fill, but that's okay. Lost 1.5 lbs, which I'll take gladly after a much bigger loss last week! I met with the nutritionist this morning- she said I should stay around 1200 calories, and add in some weight training. So things to shoot for! She told me that to get to a BMI of 25 I would weigh around 141 lbs- I'm shooting for 130, but good to know where I"ll be in the "normal" range. I'll check back later!

Why not just go for another fill???
-
Can you make it an 18 pack??? LOL. I really think it would have to totally shake the heck out of you to make anything happen to the band- and if that's the first ab workout you've done since being banded that may have something to do with it too. Just do take it easy!!!! NJ2NC- I love Zumba!! have fun!!!! WIDRT (what I'm doing right today) Keeping on the mushies for today- regular foods tomorrow good water consumption going down- 16 oz so far, plus a couple gulps, more 15 minutes after lunch waiting 15 minutes after lunch to drink! Exercise- elliptical- planned for tonight! all food logged so far! Have a great day!!

NJ2NC those are good ideas! I eat a lot of "deviled" eggs- I just peel the egg- usually 2 or 3- and mix the yolks with a little olive oil mayo and chopped green onions Today for my mushie lunch I'm eating instant mashed potatoes. Sometimes I'll add some rotisserie chicken, super yummy! But I'm not counting carbs at all- I feel, and Dr agrees, that if I get in all my protein, am exercising, and not eating starchy carbs at EVERY meal, then I really don't need to. Now, if I every plateau, I may consider restricting carbs! No change in how my restriction feels today, we'll see how it goes. I have another fill scheduled for 3 weeks! I will get there!! LOL

That's a good idea to share meal ideas. Some of my go to meals are 3 oz chicken from a grocery store rotisserie chicken with either 1/2 c bushs seasoned recipe black beans or 1/2 c refried beans. Lots of protein and fiber. For breakfasts I either do 1 scoop vanilla unjury on 1 c trop 50 oj with crushed ice- sometimes add 1/2 c frozen strawberries...or I do 1 scoop unjury chocolate splendor with 1 c skim milk and some crushed ice. Let's all give some suggestions!

Please Give Me A Boost, Bandster Hell Is Taking A Toll A Little Bit...
JustDoIt130 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know how this all works. I have been steadily losing weight, doctor is happy. HOWEVER....today I had my 3rd fill, for a total now of 8 cc's in a 14 cc band. I got 1 cc today, and have had no issues- I truly can't tell any difference. The Water at the Dr office went down fine, the Soup I had for lunch went down fine.... When the heck am I going to feel restriction, people???? I can hang on, I am fine with using willpower for awhile longer, but dang, I thought I'd feel something by now!!!!! I have lost 42 lbs, still motivated, but want some love and attention from my fellow banders, LOL -
Oh Meredith, we cross posted. Those are my fave crackers but they wouldn't be if that happened! I hope you're all right too!!

N2animals, can't u call your doctor and tell them its an emergency??? You sound miserable! My doc always says to call right away if I have issues- if u don't go til Wednesday that will be a week!!! Call them!! Kymie, we have the same size band. My fill took me to 8 cc. I don't feel any change yet, maybe tomorrow. Can u describe what it feels like so I have an idea? On liquids today, I hope lipton noodle soup counts as a liquid!!

Checking in at 241.5!

Oh, I forgot to post- I think that after I lose about 40 more pounds and am under 200, I am going to start looking into becoming a zumba instructor! Or, rather, I'll figure out how to do it now, but start when I'm a little less fluffy, LOL.

Hi everyone! I just had my 3rd fill of 1 cc, which puts me to 8 cc's in a 14 cc band. I hope this puts me at some restriction. The Water went down just fine in the office. Luckily I remembered to bring soup for lunch!! This past Saturday I ate a whole grilled chicken sandwich- bun and all- just to see if I could, and I had no issues at all. I was still within my calorie range, etc, I just wanted to test the band with bread, regular bites, etc- and I could totally eat it "normally." I do think I feel ~some~ restriction, like I 'm not nearly as hungry as often as I used to be, but I can't wait to be in the actual green zone!! Horsegirl, I too love the LB bras. I'm sure I can find something else I really like, though, as I'm sure they won't fit me anymore when I'm a size 8, LOL. Just do take smaller bites and see if that helps. I know that's going to be a huge challenge for me- I'm already really practicing not drinking while eating or for 15 or so minutes after, which is huge for me. Back in the day I'd drink 3-4 diet cokes with my dinner at a restaurant, or a big glass of water at home. NJ2NC- yay for you on the ring! I too have some really pretty rings I want to wear again! And some necklaces too, when my neck isn't fat anymore!! Good for you! Nicole- I too am a sweets to end the day kind of girl. It used to be a HUGE bowl of eci maerc, but now I freeze 2 pudding cups. Super yummy and cures the craving. I also bought the Fiber One brownies someone mentioned, haven't tried one yet, but they're there for me just in case, LOL. I'll be you love Jazzercise- I know when I do a class like that, I know no one is looking at me as they're all worried about themselves, LOL. I have clothes in my closet from 26 to 18- but unfortunately not too many of the smaller clothes are good work type of clothes- those run out at size 22. So I'll be doing the consignment/Good Will thing too! Good luck to all of us today!!!!

How Is Hair Loss Post Op?
JustDoIt130 replied to lovex5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was about a month out of surgery when mine started to fall out and break off. I get in all my protein, so didn't know what was up. I'd had other surgeries and didn't have my hair fall out. I started taking about 7000 mg or whatever the unit is of Biotin and I'm almost back to normal. Certainly not the hairbrush fills of hair I was losing!! -
ChrissyLu, that is awesome! I'll bet you feel so much better 45 lbs lighter and so active!!!! Congratulations!!!!
-
This is a goal of mine! I love zumba. Can u tell me how to start the process?
-
Congratulations ChrissyLu!!!

Hi there! Ladybandido, that is awesome! How much have u lost total? Meredith, I will def look at that swimsuit site, thanks! I'm doing this from my phone, so I'll be quick. I'm going to zumba this morning, haven't been in awhile so I'm looking forward to having even more fun now ol 40+ lbs lighter. Anyways, myfitnesspal doesn't have zumba as an exercise choice, so I went to a website to approximate calories. It said for my weight of 241.5, a medium intensity 50 min workout would burn 719 calories!! Does that sound reasonable?? My elliptical says 450 for 40 min on low resistance....
-
ChrissyLu- you'll do great! I hope you wake up ready to go and energized. I'm aiming for a 5 k in September that my office is doing in honor of 9/11. My parents live near the beach in NC, so this year hopefully I won't be wearing cutoff sweats to the beach!!!
-
I tried on a bunch of smaller clothes in my closet and most of them fit!! Good thing I have several sizes to go through in there, LOL. Meredith, glad your fill went well- my 3rd is on Monday. Right now I have 7 cc's in a 14 cc band- not feeling a lot of restriction for sure. Another good workout last night! Tonight DH and I are going out to eat- and all I'm worried about is how can I get my workout in!
-
Oh, and OP- that is so awesome!! 92 lbs rocks!!
