Hello everyone! Obviously, I'm new here . I'm 20 and have struggled with my weight for most of my life. Lose some, gain it back, lose, gain. Seems like a never ending process.. I'm in the beginning stages.. I have no surgeon or surgery date. Right now I'm planning to attend a seminar. I would just like to know everyone's experiences.. good or bad. Especially any one that has had a baby with the band since I'll want to have kids one day. Well... I guess that's it for now.. Thanks everyone!

Thanks! I'll have to try that for a while before I go back to school for the Fall. What do you usually eat? Especially to get that much protein..

90 pounds is amazing! I've probably lost about 40-50 before and I can keep it off for a bit then it just kinda slowly creeps back on. Besides my weight being something I've struggled with my whole life, my major is health related and I feel like making sure the weight comes off, and stays off, may be necessary for anyone to take me seriously. I'm going to a seminar in August.. Are they any questions that you recommend I ask.. Or things that you wish you would have asked before you had your surgery?

I'd like to know your story too.. I'm a little bit older than you but I am considering getting banded.

When I decide on the surgery I don't know who I really want to know and who I don't want to know. Obviously my parents will know because they will be the ones getting the surgery for me. Right now the only people that know are my mom (I honestly don't know if she has told my dad I'm thinking about it or not) and I've mentioned it to my best friend. I wouldn't mind my family knowing (they've all seen my struggle with weight loss through the years) BUT there are a few people in my family that just can't keep things to myself.. and I'd really rather not have people find out from others besides me.. much less people I don't even really know.

I don't have a surgery date or anything yet, but I think I really want to get the Lap Band. I'm attending a seminar and meeting a surgeon next month. I'm just happy to know that there are other close to my age (I'm 20). For any of you that have already had it how much of a change was it for you? Especially if you are in college and are on campus?
