Have Surgery Date, SCARED
leo replied to dawnsunshine35's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just want to mention this. If you go thru with the surgery and I presume that you won't have complications worse enough to die.... 6 months from now you will be looking back at this and say to yourself that it was the best thing you ever did for yourself..... -
Maybe Alex should consider finding a way to make the avatars 100 X 100 *hint* *hint* lols
-
I would go back to a liquid diet for a while and see if the uncomfort goes away.... soups etc...
-
Yap, for me the restriction level can fluctuate drastically from day to day. Like I said, if I eat stuff with high sugar content I find that I can eat more stuff... Dunno why.
-
I have days where I have super restriction and days where I can eat things that normally don't go down. It fluctuates thru out the month. I do notice that if I eat things with high sugar contents then the restriction will be less...

I have the midband, and I know you have problably have heard it over and over again, the band ( any brand ) is just a tool. For me it helped me get rid of the feeling of constantly wanting to eat. I dont need to eat just to "eat". As long as you make good and healthy food choices the weight will come off. Have a look over at my website for my blog, hope that will give me a better perspective of what life with the band is like http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6pwwz/

Good luck Kelly, I know you problably have heard it lots of times already... But I will say it again hehehehe. Guys normally loose faster then girls.. . Congrats on the weightloss!

leo replied to quakergirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats , yes these mile stones are really a great pepper upper! It also feels great to shop for new clothes and to be able to tighten the belt up one notch. Being able to shop for hours without running out of breath etc etc -
I made a trip report with pics of how my first and so far only fill went feel free to have a look http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6pwwz/id18.html Goodluck!
-
your doing just fine Holly! I had the same feelings of insecurity all the time the first 2 months after banding. If you want read the diary entries on my website.... happy new year!
-

You have nice long legs Congrats!

I just wanted to say that I have these periods of Super restrictions once in a while. During this time even drinking Water is a chore. One thing I do to get my daily requirements of Proteins is drink Soy milk. It takes a little getting use to, but the taste isn't really that bad. Try the brand vitasoy. you can find more info on http://www.vitasoy-usa.com/ethnic/ .

To fill via fluro or not...that is the question
leo replied to Graceful One's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would say flouro, They can also see if everything is ok in your tummy. And they can fill just with much more precision. My doctor even asked me if I wanted a tight fill or not, and its all made possible with flouro. -
LoLs, no wonder I was loosing hair! I guess I will have to add B12 ! Thank god the hairloss of mine has stopped. Its getting mighty thin up there!
-
I take flintstones chewables and fiber fortified soymilk for Protein and fiber. Whats the B12 needed for Bebbly??
-
Its should be ok Mary, I tend to stick with Soups also. If I eat solids I have to eat and chew very slowly and eat very little and be full already. I think that this is called "restriction" lols... As long as your not having reflux or actual pain even while nothing is in the stomach, then everything is fine! Wow, your only 16 lbs away from your goal, im jealous Congrats!
-
Dont feel bad, first of all , you still havent had a fill yet so you still dont have that much restriction. secondly, the portions you eat are just enough to maintain your day to day needs. As long as you dont go back to what you ate before banding you will loose. I eat what ever I want also, in moderation of course and I am still loosing steadily although I have plateaus all the time. But eventually the weight starts going down again.. the way I see it, when the weight doesn't go down, my inches are going down! Have a look at my website, I have a diary and weight loss chart there! here is the direct link to the chart http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6pwwz/id5.html

Congrats!!!! have u bought some neosporin??? Just on the safe side put some on the wounds to prevent any chance of infections! Welcome to the club!!!!
-
Sue, it seemed to been ages !!!! I just try to pretend I am just a normal person ( one not trying to loose weight ) and once in a while I look over my stats and it feels great to see the downward trend!
-
Tacoma Radiology does fills for patients that got banded in Mexico. You should ask Nicole for the address, or if needed I think I can find out the info, just let me know But make sure you have the Iamed lapband installed,if you plan to get fills in the usa, thats the only band that is approved by the FDA.
