Thank you, I'm doing great today, yesterday has gone and passed, and today is a new day, it is bright and sunny. Let me know when you get your appointment with the Surgeon. I'm excited for you, I remember how I felt when I first started the journey. Just read alot of the things on this forum, and you will learn alot. That is one reason I'm glad my surgery was postponed, because I found this forum, and have time to educate myself about the surgery. -
Hip, Hip Hooray!!! I'm so happy for you. I can not wait until I join you there in onederland.

Good luck, on the journey. It could be a up and down struggle, but just stick with it, and you will make it. Trust me I know I have been working on it for almost a year now, of course I'm going through the VA and had a little more hoops to go through then most people, but I know in the long run all those hoops will be worth it. Welcome, and please keep us posted on your journey. -
Hey my surgery is not until December, and I have the same fears. I keep wondering is the pain worse then child birth? Will I be able to tolerate it or will I be a big baby. I'm also having to drive 7 hours to have my surgery, and the question about what do I do if I get home, and have a leak, do I go to the ER here at my hospital, or drive to the VA, what if I don't know if I have a leak??? Trust me I am right there with you with all the thoughts running through my mind, and I have a few months before the surgery. lol I will probably be a nervous wreck the closer I get. lol but I know this is the best thing for me.

Wow, that was really fast. Somebody (Lord) must really want to you have this surgery, and fast because most of the time it takes a big longer then that. I am so happy for you. I'm sure your parents will understand, and support you. If they don't you just remember you are doing this for you, not them. Keep us posted.

Just a couple of questions
lamsunshine replied to lamsunshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never heard of that, but I sure hope that is the one she was talking about. Thanks, I learn somthing new everyday. -
So when I spoke with the nutrionist at the VA, she told me that I could not drink 15min before, and 15 minutes after I eat. I thought this was quite interesting as my last surgeon told me 45 min before and 30 minutes after. What did your doctors tell you. Oh and great news, I don't have a pre-op diet. Oh and another thing she told me I could drink slimfast, where my last nutrionist told me no slimfast as it had to much suger, and carbs in it. So what do you think. I think I'm going with the advice of the first nutrionist, as this lastest one is witht he VA, and not with a Surgery center, and I just did not like her. lol How long do you you wait to drink before and after dinner, and was anyone cleared to drink Slim Fast?

Steph, Wow and I thought I have been waiting a long time, you have me beat. Good luck on Monday, and let me know how it goes. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Monday. -
I went and spoke with the head surgeon at the Hunington VA, met with Anesthesiologist, and their nutrionist. I am cleared for surgery, and received my date. Are you ready for this, December 2, yes that is right December 2. It sounds like it is so far away, but I'm sure the time will go by fast. To early to start counting down the days. lol But at least I have a date now. :thumbup1:

Well I think the boots will come in handy when your stepping in all the sh&*, your sister is saying. Then like you said you can use them to give her a nice swift kick. -
Body Pillow question
lamsunshine replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is just so adorable. :crying: -
So Tiff, are you saying that would be okay, because it soundif you could drink one of them throughout the day, you would meet your protein requirements. I have wanted to try protein mixes, but heard about the tastebuds changing so am waiting until after my surgery. Did you say you can get this at GNC. I think even if you are low of your protein for the day if you drink part of that drink it would help. Sounds to good to be true if you ask me. lol

Thank you -
