    I NEED YOUR HELP!

Thanks everyone, that does make me feel more hopeful. I have decided to join a gym with my husband. I look forward to this journey with all of you
  4. I am 7 weeks post-op and am able to eat whatever, whenever I want. I even had my first fill at 4 weeks and still no real restriction. Please all of your success stories give my some insight as to what worked the best for you. I am becoming very discouraged. I am afraid that I am going to be the one LapBander that still stays fat and couldn't lose my weight. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Yay!

How in the heck have you lost 50 lbs in 10 weeks??? OMG, are you starving yourself and exercising to death???? Please do tell, I need some major motivation. I was banded on July 15th and am only down 20lbs. I think 10 of that was the week of only liquids before my actual surgery. I expected to have lost more or at least a steady 2-3 lbs per week. Ughhh, I have been at the same 20 lbs for 2 weeks now. I don't feel any restriction, even after my first fill at 4 weeks. I was really hoping that the Band would physically make it impossible to overeat or eat the wrong foods. Please share with me some of the things you do to have had such a successful first 2 months. Keep up the great work.
  6. My surgery was Fri. July 15th and on Friday July 22nd I was at our favorite Chinese Food place eating won ton soup, soft noodles, and paper wrapped chicken. I took very small bites and chewed real well. I too was starving for some real food and everything went down perfectly fine. Now that I am 7 weeks post op I realize that the band is by no means a "cure all" you can still pretty much eat whatever you want just in smaller portions. I was so afraid in the beginning that I would never be able to go out to dinner or social eating with family and friends.......wrong, you can eat anything so be careful and control your portions and make healthy choices. the LapBand will not do any of the work for you, it's up to you to change your whole eating style and start exercising. Sometimes I wish I would have done the gastric sleeve because then weight loss is pretty much guaranteed, I don't feel LapBand can offer that weight loss guarantee. Sorry, I don't mean to sound ungrateful about my LapBand surgery, but I really wish I would have gotten more accurate information about the fact that it's really up to "Me" on whether or not I lose this weight. Ughhhh

    Ugh!!!

Hang in there. My surgery was July 15th and the gas pain for 3-4 days was miserable. I forced myself to walk, walk, walk. I know you don't feel like walking but it does help distribute the gas bubbles and relieve some of the pain. I promise it does get 100% better in just a few days. Good Luck
  8. My surgery was July 15th and I am very frustrated at my progress. I had expected to feel "different" and thought LapBand would be a great tool in my journey for weight loss. I have only lost 12 pounds since surgery but I honestly feel it has nothing to do with my band. I am able to eat whatever I want whenever I want it. I do however stick to eating smaller portions and "good" foods. I don't drink sugary drinks and rarely eat sweets. I can eat any texture and I never have a "Stuck" feeling. I have always failed before because I could never stick to a low calorie diet with regular exercise. I feel as if my surgeon is only giving me diet and exercise guidelines and my minimal weight loss is due to my portion control and paying attention to when my brain tells me I'm full. I am questioning why I had the LapBand placed if I don't feel any different and still have to try and do ALL the work??? My next fill is Sept. 27th, IDK if this will help some. Any information or suggestions would greatly be appreciated

    July Bandsters Unite! LOL

Banded July 15th, so far so good but I am pretty much able to eat just about anything I want???? I do not feel any restriction at all??? My first fill is Aug 15th, maybe it will be different then??? I am definitely watching what I eat, eating smaller portions and only eating 3meals per day with no "Grazing" I have lost 8 lbs since my actualy surgery day and to date since July 1st when I started my pre surgery diet I am down 15 lbs. Can anyone else pretty much eat what they choose??? I honestly don't feel like I have even had surgery??? HELP
  11. I to after the first week became hungry with my stomach growling. My surgery wasJuly 15, 2011 and I feel great today. I kinda rushed through the 2 week clear liquids phase and am pretty much into the mushy phase 100% I just make sure that I am eating my 3 meals per day and NOT snacking, which killsme by the way. I Have not had any trouble with any of the foods I have eaten. I even had a soft scrambled eggs with finely chopped ham in it this morning. All is well. I am eating tuna, grilled chicken and even watermelon and cantelope. Of course it is finely chopped and goes down fine. I have lost about 9 lbs in the past 9 days, so far so good:)
  12. I had surgery on July 15th and also had cheated on July10th the day of my anniversary...no worries. My surgery went very well and I feel great today. Only took the smallest amount of liquid paid medication for about 3 days and my incisions are healing perfectly. Surgery was a 7:30am, I was in recovery by 8am and sent home at 1pm. It was great so far. Good Luck to you.
