    Help!!!

Hope you got some answers from your doctor's office. I had a headache early in my diet. I took an excedrine migraine and no problems since. 5 days to go. Hang in there.

    Can't nobody hold me down

You're on your way! 40 days will go fast. It's the last two weeks of the pre-op diet that seems to drag on forever. I'm 5 days from surgery and just now starting to relax and realize this is really going to happen. Good luck!
  3. PCCindy is right. Versed does not have the effects you described. My wife is a RN of 30 years, cath lab trained and critical care certified. She has worked at good facilities and not so good facilities and you got the not so good one. As part of the pre-op prep, instruments, drugs, and all the other items needed are laid out and prepped. Including syringes. You were given your drugs out of order because the syringes were not labeled! The anestiologist was most likely relatively inexperienced (or simply incompetent). Stick with a Center of Excellence preferably at a regular hospital and not a surgeon in a box type place. US vs foreign is a whole other issue that has to be investigated by the patient. It's terrible you went thru that and I would be a total basket case until I got my senses ant then I would be mad as hell! Hope you got a refund. Use it for some R&R then find a reputable doc an d get back in there.

    bcbs tx

I had BCBS HMO last year at my employer here in Dallas and all WLS was specifically excluded because my employer did not pick up that optional addon. During last fall I had the option to switch to Aetna PPO with did offer a benefit and began covering VSG in April so timing was perfect. Good luck!

    Need HELP ASAP

Dallas, TX Dr. Nick Nicholson @ Baylor Plano is 12,500 cash or 16,956+/- with Aetna PPO insurance.
  6. I'm getting excited and really starting to think this might happen. I've had the sleep study, 4 nutrition classes, and psyche eval. Everything was shipped off to Aetna PPO along with prior medical records on 27 May. In 15 business days or less I should know Aetna's decision. It's not really a question of approval, more a question of what else do they want. Next milestone will be consult and scheduling! I really appreciate the good work by the members of this board. I don't post much, but I read a lot! Maybe that will change post-op...

    July Surgeries

I am scared stoopid! I'm not afraid of the surgery, or it not working, I'm afraid of not being able to live up to my part. I have the willpower of a gnat. My plan is to dive in and be a model patient and hope the rest of me says cool, lets do this. I think once I begin seeing results and getting that energy boost I keep hearing about will make all the difference. Good luck to all of us taking this journey!
  8. Congrats Stephanie! I'm also a future Dr. Nick sleever. August in north TX to me means AC and water. Drinking that is. It is HOT! Favorite pastimes are shopping and eating both of which there are plenty. I'd recommend a good movie! Shopping meccas include North Park, the Galleria, Allen Outlets and the new shopping on the other side of Hwy 75. Grapevine Mills Outlet (not my favorite). Seriously, have a pre-surgery margarita and catch a movie:biggrin0:

    July Surgeries

Add me to the list! I'm scheduled for July 12 with Dr. Nick Nicholson at Baylor Plano. Aetna PPO just approved today. I started the monthly nutrition classes Feb 23, did the sleep study, and had the psyche interview. Package was submitted on May 27 and approved June 15. Dr. Hick's office offered to have me start the preop diet tomorrow and schedule surgery for June 28. I thought that was just a little too quick! I feel quilty that everything has gone so smooth to this point despite my impatience.

    Submitted to insurance

I'm approved! July 12th. I have no idea how much my out of pocket is which is scary. Well, it's all scary, but so is diabetes, coronary artery disease, stroke, and a host of other things. No room needed on the loser's bench because I hope I'm too busy:biggrin0:

    Newb here...

Believe in yourself! I'm a low willpower person. It took me about 5 years to quit smoking after two heart stents. Stupid right? I gained about 50 pounds on top of already being overweight (obese). I'm so mad at myself. For my mid-life crisis, instead of a sportscar or two 20-somethings I'm getting WLS and a new bicycle!

    Newb here...

Maddie, I totally agree! Since I've begun this process I have lost the little willpower I had left. The closer I am to being sleeved, it seems the more I have to eat. It's crazy! I'm a lurker and thank everyone else that is not. I'm making the switch from RNY to VSG since my insurance just started coverage. I have one more nutrition class and then the big sit down with Dr. Nick. I want it over yesterday. It seems all I do is read about VSG. I can't wait to be healthier and start living a better life!!!
