Hi July Sleevers!!! My sleeve is scheduled for July 20th. I love Jim's idea of having funerals for the foods and favorite eateries!! My husband and I are on vacation the week of the 4th. When we return, I start the pre-surgery diet....and a-wwwayyyy we go......

I'm a newbie too. I had my psych eval done at the end of April. It was very enlightening. The physician was very emotionless which in the end allowed me to be very open and honest about me and my relationship with food. I don't know about anyone else, but I was brought to tears a couple of times when his questions struck a nerve. His interview technique helped me open up to him with things I've never discussed with another human being. Overall, be yourself, be open and be honest. Best Wishes!!

Hi! I just joined the forum. I started my VSG journey in March when I told my primary I needed help with my weight. Since then, it's been a whirlwind of activity. My surgery is scheduled for July 20, 2011 (28 days). The only thing I'm waiting for is my insurance pre-auth....the most important piece! My anxiety gets worse everyday and waiting for the insurance company isn't helping matters. I've battled with my weight since childhood. I've gone on every diet imaginable & lost some weight, just to gain it back plus the reverbial 5-10 lbs. Here I am today, almost 50 years old at the heaviest I've ever been. My physical and mental health have taken a toll on my yo-yoing as well. This all seems so surreal right now to fathom the idea of me being thinner and healthier! I'm looking forward to learning from others and paying it back as I learn and grow into a healthier me!
