  1. 109 pounds down! I'd really like to loose about 40 more, but I'm at a stall... ugh! Any suggestions?! Thanks!

  2. I'm a little over 2 months post op and this week I've noticed my hair is falling out by the handfuls. Not just a few strands, A LOT! I've always had very thick hair and even my hair dresser joked that if I lost some I'd be okay. Well, I can now see my scalp. Is anyone else having this problem and what helped you through it? I've taken biotin in the past, and it did help, but I was curious if there is anything more I can do other than just wait for it it grow back? I've also heard some about Zinc. Thanks so much guys!Oh, and I've lost 62 pounds so far!

    I am soooooo angry....

I can somewhat understand what you're talking about. I have advanced rheumatoid arthritis and I am in constant pain. I haven't been able to take my meds in two weeks. My sleeve cannot handle them. It makes me wanna scream some days. You should know that you have made some amazing progress. I'm with the other poster... My child weighs 33 pounds. You've lost an entire small person! That's something to celebrate. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Hang in there! Hugs!

Who Was Your Gastric Sleeve Surgeon

My surgery was 5/17/11 by Dr. Toby Broussard of Transforming Lives - Edmond, OK. He and his staff are wonderful! Tons of the staff have actually had the surgery themselves. They are super helpful and compassionate people.
  6. The exercise phys wants me to walk 30 minutes 4 times a week. So, that's what I've been trying to do. I had my post-op 2 week phone consultation with my dietician today and I specifically asked her about protein. She said there is no need for me to be concerned with the amount of protein I'm taking in. Just kinda throws me for a loop because I've seen so many people say that their physician requires you to get in a certain amount daily. She told me now that I'm starting mushy foods, I should stop trying to drink protein shakes all together because my body doesn't need the extra. They want me to focus on protein rich foods. I was like... whoa! But I'll give it a try. Thanks ladies for your reply. You all made me feel much better. I've pretty much only drank water or smart water for the last couple of weeks. Only a few sips of protein shakes here and there when I felt light headed. Nothing sweet tastes good to me. Hopefully that will improve with time, because I have a feeling I will be burned out on water soon. I've got a lot of inspiration and guidance from this board. I'm thankful that I'm able to come here and talk to you all about my journey. You guys rock!
  7. I'll be 2 weeks post op tomorrow. I will be on a liquid diet until tomorrow. I tried walking on the treadmill at a easy pace several time now, but I feel so weak and I get light headed easliy. Anyone else have this problem? My doctor isn't concerned with the amount of Protein I'm taking in at this point. I'm wondering if that's the problem. Thanks!
  8. YAY!!! Me too!!! (but I am not starving.....just wanting something to kinda "mill on")

  9. I'm starting my soft protein foods tomorrow... I'm so excited! I'm starving!

    What are some "Sleeve-Friendly" restaurants?

I have heard from people at my support group meetings that you can go to Ci Ci's Pizza and order a crustless pizza. I'm only 2 weeks out so I haven't tried it yet, but look forward to it!
  11. I've been on a liquid diet for 2 weeks. Tomorrow I can start my soft/protein foods. What did some of you eat during this stage? I've got cottage cheese, refried Beans and potted meats so far. Anyone have any good ideas? I've seen Egg Face's Ricotta Bake recipe and I think I will try it one night. Thanks guys! Hope you are all having a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!

Moving to Thick Liquids on Tuesday...Ideas appreciated!

I will be starting my thick liquid mushy foods on Tuesday as well. I had my surgery 5/17/11. I have a bullet to soften things in. Some of the things my surgeon recommended are: cottage cheese ricotta cheese canned meats scrambled eggs egg salad tuna salad with light mayo only chicken salad with light mayo only fat free refried Beans I am finding as I read the forum that each surgeon is so different on their post op diet. I've been on a liquid diet for almost 2 weeks now, and I feel like I am starving. Did any of you feel this way?
  13. Hi all... I'm new to the group. I'm 13 days out. I had my sleeve done on 5/17/11. My doctor told me to take the Chewable Bariatric Advantage Multi Vitamins, but since surgery everytime I take them I throw up. I'm still in my liquid stage (my doctor requires liquids for 2 weeks) and I've even tried taking them with a Protein shake. Has anyone else experienced this? I've always been a faithful Vitamin taker. Even before surgery. Does anyone know if there is a capsule or something out there that my stomach might tolerate better. I've tried taking my daughter's Flinstone vitamins, too. They made me sick also. Thanks so much for your help!
