I am soon to be 80 years old and would like my remaining time on this earth to be able to just do some easy things, like cleaning my room and walking. I have spinal stenosis and one of my doctors believes it may be caused by my weight. Time will tell. My surgery is day after tomorrow and I am a little scard. All the stories I have read here have helped a lot. My surgeon thought I would loose about 15 to 20 pounds on the liquid, Optifast diet.... so far, 14 pounds, he said it would shrink my liver and give him room to work on my stomach, which is behind it... just might make it to 15 by Tuesday. For me, the liquid 800 calorie diet was the most difficult. It left me without much energy in the mornings, and I had to reduce my diebetic meds, and blood pressur meds. Wow, to think I will have 2 more weeks of the liquid diet after surgery??
