Neveragain, Welcome! :shade: This is definately a 'brand free' support zone! It's all about the riding and the experiences not the make and model! The more the merrier. Just think of the motley crew we'd all make cruising down the highway. We hope to see more of you! I've been quite blue due to the rains we've been having. Not only can I not ride but I have discovered a leak in my roof. Good news though..only a hundred bucks to get it fixed. It's fabulous to know people who know people! Since we're in drought country though rain is always a good thing. Hope everyone is doing well and riding hard! Or at least thinking about riding hard! :peace:

    My First 'stuck' episode...now what?

Well Cascadian may not be there yet but I think it's a really accurate description. The first time I got sick, I was rushing (lesson number 1: don't rush) and I tried to relax and let it pass. It just was not going to happen. So I excused myself, because of course it had to happen in a public place. Tried putting my finger down my throat to no avail. Then just a simple cough and out it came. Instant relief and no pain. It's not like throwing up in the preband world. I highly recommend that you don't do this at all...eat slowly, chew your food well, pay attention to what you're eating. But if it happens, realize it's not the end of the world. Learn the lessons and move along. I've done it to myself three times which apparently makes me a slow learner...lol :peace:

    motorcycle ride?

I was on mine within a month and had no problems. In fact I noticed that it was easier too minus the weight. Looking forward to that feeling as the pounds go down even more! We also have a posting for Banded Bikers II in the support section. Stop by and say 'Hi'. :peace:

Another week, still the same. Guess I'm at my first plateau but that's okay because I know it'll pass. My foot's still hurting from my surgery in October so I've used that as my excuse not to get back on the treadmill. I think it's time to get going though or I'll keep seeing the view from this plateau and I won't get off the mountain. I get my second fill next Tuesday and I hope that will help too. I haven't felt like I've had any restriction in a couple of weeks. Tonight is our monthly support group meeting and that helps me get motivated. A plastic surgeon is coming to speak. I won't need that for quite some time but it will be interesting to see what he has to say. I hope everyone has a good week! :peace: Name..........................Starting…...…..Current….…..Goal…....To Go Juliegeraci......................238.............. . ...... 238.................228.............10 Lapbandit.......................231............... ......225………….199.............26 Waterlily........................300.............. ........285.................264.............21 Roiansmom....................299.................. ....299.................270.............29 Libra...............................248........... ..........241.................228.............13 JulieNYC........................212............... ......202.................185.............17 Elisabethsew...................282................ .....276.................264.............12 PeaCeJ............................338............. .......338.................318.............20 RidinMyHDDream.........297......................29 0 ................281...............9 Babygirl1234..................260................. ....251.................240.............11 Leecelove70....................228................ .....228.................200.............28 Josette.............................351........... ..........351.................335.............16

Welcome Lizrbit! I remember the day that I hit twoterville like it was yesterday. Okay, well it was last month...lol It certainly feels great! Lap, keep your eye on the prize. You're so close to onederland. Remember that it didn't go on in just a year's time so be patient with yourself and your adjusting body! I can't wait to be where you are now! And I know my personal goal is to never have to shop at Lane Bryant or any 'big ladies' store again. Unless of course they have a pair of earrings that I just can't live without! :heh:

Tha't's cool. I'm sure they will enjoy the trip especially after a rough year. Also, good luck to you on your surgery! Looks like you are due this next week? It's not to bad and the results are definately worth it! :whoo:

I'm sorry to hear about your brother-in-law's stroke. I hope the benefit is a success. One of my good friends had a minor stroke in February and we're blessed that she wasn't impacted more. Randy, I haven't made the ROT arrangements yet. Planning on getting that done soon though. Have to find a cost efficient way to make the trip...lol Especially with the bigger one's planned already. If it comes down to it I would give up ROT this year to go to Sturgis but I'm hoping I don't have to. All I can say is thank goodness for tax refunds. It will be funding my joy rides this year. :shade:

I second Lapbandit's appreciation for the support! I'm trying to stay focused on the weight already gone and I know the rest will go too. I go back to the doctor's on the 20th so I'm sure I'll get another fill which should help too. Molly I can soooooo relate to the teenage daughter thing. I'm surprise my daughter and I both survived...lol Now she's married and I have a beautiful granddaughter. So now my daughter is guaranteed to go through what I did. Who ever said revenge isn't sweet....lol j/k I'm hoping for happily ever after in their case. Has anyone tried the Barilla multigrain pasta? My Mom left a box from her visit. When I saw that it had a protein count I decided to go for it. I have to take small bites and chew it well but I haven't had any problems with it at all. Helps to beef up my protein for the day. I just limit what I eat.

I'm planning to do Sturgis and Vegas this year...in the same month. Sturgis for me and Vegas for my baby's 21st bday. Want to take her out legally on her birthday and then I'll be playing Grammie the rest of the time we're there. I'll be worn out by the end of August. Just glad to be getting this weight off because it'll make traveling so much easier! Randy, when are ya'll headed up? I'm going with a friend of mine but I'm so worried he'll flake out. Do you have reservations somewhere already? I found a place called Shade Valley. They have 3 room tents with air beds, electricity and a fan all set up and waiting. I made my reservation tonight! I'm so excited! Going to make this a reality even if I have to make the trip by myself. :whoo: Next on the to do list is an Ipod for the music and a Tbag for some luggage. I don't have bags on my bike, don't like the way they look but I bet they're handy to have for trips. Brandy if you get up there we'll have to have a lapbandtalk gathering...lol :peace:

It looks like I hit a road block on my way through Twoterville this week. (sigh) Or a wrong way sign or something...lol Going to try not to let it interfere with the long distance trip though. Has anyone been to Sturgis during the rally? I am trying to make this one a reality this year and would appreciate any tips as it will be a virgin trip for one so long in days and miles. Packing, etc.. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    UHC Choice plus-won't cover?

Congratulations on your approval! I was just banded in January and it really is the greatest thing. I'm thankful to my UHC coverage because it's making my life so much better! I hope everything goes really well for you on the 1st. I know when I woke up in pain all I thought to myself was 'I asked for this so don't whine'....lol I didn't have much pain at all though so I wish the same for you!

    Doctors in San Antonio?

Hi Dana, I was banded by Dr. Carcamo and he's been great. They also have a great support group that meets in person monthly. I found him through AIGB (aka Turning point). If you go to AIGB.com and look for San Antonio you'll find him and Dr. Wright there. I recommend them. I can also check with my friend at work. His primary referred him to someone else. I'll ask tomorrow and let you know what I find out. By the way, don't wait anymore. It's the best thing ever!

Brandy, congrats on your success so far! And I love your Sheryl Crow quote too. I noticed yesterday it was easier just being 30 plus pounds lighter. I can't wait to be at your ticker mark and enjoy it even that much more! And you can do it!!! Get back on that bike and take charge just like you've done with your weight loss. Randy, it would be fun to meet you and Joy up in Austin. We'll definately have to make plans. I can't promise that I won't be partially nekid...lol I've flashed there before but that was several years back. I think I have that out of my system....some. :shade: I think I'll save it for Sturgis this year!

    Banded Bikers II

Welcome Brandy! I hope you'll join us regularly! Thanks for the info Randy. I just talked to my boys about it yesterday while we were lunching in Fredericksburg. Told them we had to make hotel decisions quickly because I know the rooms go fast. I think I'd like to stay closer to the rally site. Less night time riding when people have been at the beer all day. The ride yesterday was gorgeous. We hit Lukenbach and hung out for awhile then through Fred and back home. Just great. I'll start riding again to work today. Working right now on running most of my 'old' gas out. Roughly 8 miles to go on the main tank but I think I may switch to the reserve this morning, use that and then go fill up and add some more Berryman's. :peace: to all and have a great week!

Thanks Randy. San Antonio was a little overcast on Friday but it's gorgeous today. Warmed up my Babee and then took off to do what every good biker does....errands...lol Put air in the tires first and then off to Hallmark, the drugstore and Auto Zone for some stuff to put in my tank. Berryman's B12, my mechanic told me to pick it up. Tomorrow we're going to Lukenbach Texas with Waylon and Willie and the boys... Ok, not Waylon and Willie but me and my boys are going to take a day trip. It's a little over an hour to get there I think from here. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Oh, Randy, I've been meaning to ask, do you and your wife camp at ROT or hotel it. I was thinking of staying somewhere close to downtown for all the festivities on Friday. Just wondered since you're more of a veteran there than me. Have you seen the update on the page? The Guess Who and Grand Funk Railroad are the Saturday concert. That should be fun and bring back a lot of memories!

calories, fat or carbs? what do I count?

My Nutrionist said 60 gms of Protein a day. Roughly 1000-1200 calories however she said concentrate on the protein and the calories will come. The protein is critical so that your hair doesn't fall out and other related issues but that one is the most noticable. Good luck on your journey! I know I'm just past my first month and I'm loving every minute of it! :shade:

Ladies, thanks for responding. I think it's okay. The feeling I get is just an uncomfortable kind of pain like it's not passing through. It seems to pass after 10 minutes or so. I can drink liquids fine and mushies too. I think it might be the chicken I was trying to eat. I tried Wendy's chili today because I was late leaving from my foot doctor's appt and rushing back to a meeting at work. That was fine going down too. I think it's just a 'learning opportunity' I'm facing to slow down and chew well. Just worried about how to get the protein count of 60 in without relying on the protein shakes. I'm thankful for any suggestions. You all keep me inspired!

(singing) Back in the saddle again ....or the Aerosmith version..I'm back...I'm back in the saddle again! I'm a happy girl! My doctor gave me clearance to ride again so I'll be back on two wheels tomorrow. I have the instructions from my mechanic on what to do so I'll take care of the tires in the morning as I head to work and schedule the oil change for Saturday morning. :whoo: Just hope I remember how..lol I was only on it for 6 months before I was grounded but I'm sure that old bicycle phrase will fit for this as well. Carol your poker run is on my daughter's 21st bday and the plan now is to be in Vegas to Celebrate. I'm getting her drunk on her bday legally and then playing Grammie the rest of the days with my granddaughter. Should be a fun time. I'm also hoping to do Sturgis this year so I have my fingers crossed that all the trips will work out. I'm definately going to have to find some relief for TB. My friend told me about some beads you could get for a seat cover too. He says they're nice cuz they help the air circulate beneath. Hope everyone is doing well! :peace:

From one Carol to another....Welcome. Don't be lurker anymore. Sounds like you have a great bunch to ride with. I haven't found an official group to ride with. There's several guys at work who ride and we are our own little unofficial group I guess. I'm the newest rider which I guess is why I'm the most enthusiastic and coordinate a lot of the rides. I can also relate to TB...lol Mine starts hitting about 60 miles down the road so I'm also the leader of frequent stops to stretch. :shade: Congratulations on band success. Please share any tips you have for road trips.
