Well, after a month full of travel and little else I ended up 2 lbs up from the last weigh in but I can live with that. Would love to hit the mid-century weight mark though this month. I haven't had a fill in probably 4 months so I'm getting one on the 12th. Hopefully it can help with this month's goal. SEPTEMBER Challenge Name..............................Starting........ Welcome Daddy! (now I'm going to have that Toby Keith song stuck in my head all day....lol) I know what you mean about feeling better on it every day. I use to get achey quicker but now I feel better. Coming back from my trip I rode a little over 700 miles in one day. I didn't ache at all...well...except for my butt...teehee. I think that's a given. Keep up the great work and you'll be on that dream bike in no time. :peace:

Hi Belinda! Welcome aboard! You'll love it and it's easy to live and ride with. Jim, glad to hear you're doing well and back in the saddle again. We did have flooding around the area but I didn't have any impact. Except the darn grass keeps growing..lol Randy, you guys be careful on your drive. Definately give me a holler and I can meet you and Joy somewhere. If there's not any rain I'll even ride there. Taking my Babee in for her 10k check up on Friday. Just had the 5K done in June. Sheesh....lol I hope everyone's doing well. I have to get back on the bandwagon. Just got home from the Vegas/California trip and gained some back. I think all we did was eat and drink and not in a healthy way. I'll be ready for a fill on my 9/12 appt too. :peace:
-
Hey Jim, congratulations on your success so far! You're doing great! It's also fun to have someone you know have the same surgery because you can bounce things off each other for support too. Randy...no freakin kiddin!!!!! It's pouring here now. I'm just thankful I got the jungle mowed before it started. Well I'm leaving for Vegas (by plane) on Saturday so I won't be riding until next week anyway. When are ya'll heading down? I'll send you the number in a pm so you have it. Definately give me a call when you and Joy are here. :peace:

One vacation down (and 4 lbs) and 1 more to go. Leaving on Saturday again. Made the ride to Sturgis and around and it was great 3513 miles, 8 states in 9 days. I think that helped with the loss. This week it's to Vegas and Cali for my baby's 21st bday so it might not be as diet friendly...lol Name...............................Starting……....Loss.......Current…....Goal….....ToGo losingjusme..(Christine).........293................13 .............280...........275............5 tann.............(Tammy)...........211................. 3..............208..........198............10 Josette......(Josette)..............322……...........8..............314...........307.............7 RidinMyHDDream..(Carol)......264.................4..............260............254............6 FaithMD...............................308.................5..............303...........299...........6.4 Elisabethsew..(Elisabeth)......275.................0..............275 ...........265............10 Libra.....(Angela)...................214.................0..............214............208 ............6 glindab.................................282..............3.4............278.6..........265...........13.6 Inner_me...(Chris)..................295................0..............295............280 ............15 waterlily1072...(Nicole)...........279................0..............279............269............10 Rainer...(Lorraine)..................311................7..............304.............299............5 staindgal....(Bridget)..............319...............5 8...........313.2...........299.........14.2 jbtullis...(Jonathan)................317..................7.............310............299............11 Insubordination.....................311................2.6...........308.4...........304............4.4 Squale.................................334…...............9.............325……......310….........15 ShaunECook........................256.2................0...........256.2……......245........11.2

Amen to that Randy. Glad Joy had a fun trip. I know I really enjoyed mine as well. It made me feel so free just to get out there by myself. Of course my trackers knew where I was headed and I checked in regularly but I never felt any concern at all. I knew the road angels were watching over me. :peace:

Hey Randy! Congrats! Yes, I made it too. Ended up going with a couple of guys from my HOG chapter. It was kind of like going alone for me...lol We did Sturgis, Rapid City HD, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and then on Tuesday I decided I wasn't having as much fun as I wanted so I took off and left for Colorado. I have friends and family there and decided since I was so close...why not! It was a great solo trip. I had one scary moment in a Wyoming storm, which has to be the windiest state in the country...lol I put on 3513 miles on my Sporty and rode through eight states. Rode over some really high passes in Colorado. (Macacoza, even had lunch in Canyon City) Crossed my 10000 mile marker too. Made it home on Saturday night. Wouldn't trade any part of the trip at all. Would definately go back to Sturgis but only if I'm with a group of friends. Now, back to the reality of work...(sigh) I really need to win the lottery so I can do that all the time. :peace:
-
Alright my trusted biker friends. It's D-day! :whoo: Leaving this afternoon for my virgin trip to Sturgis. Ah, 46 and a virgin once more..lol Wish me luck! I'll be back in town at least by the 12th and will update ya'll with the road stories. Hmm... maybe not all the stories...lol :peace:
-
Well I doubled up from last week's loss and am down 2 pounds to kick off August...lol I'm leaving my goal of 10. I'm leaving for Sturgis this afternoon so I won't be around for 10 fun filled days. Hopefully the weight will continue to drop. Welcome Lorraine and Bridget. A lot of us started in this thread above the 2's which is why it's the road to twoterville. It's morphed in to the road through it as well. Maurdan, please join us on the journey. I'll take my pound down. Sometimes I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. Guess I'll keep trudging along. Woohoo Tammy!!! :whoo: You are truly an inspiration for me!! I'm so proud of what you've done for yourself and really that's the best reward ever! I second Elisabeth's comment. You'll be in Onederland soon but I hope you still spend time with us in spirit here still! :wow2: Only 3 to go to your next century mark too! You go girl!!!!

Hey Randy, glad to hear all the equipment is working well, including the bike. I'm glad Joy's feeling better. I didn't know ya'll lived out that way. Maybe next time I'm up there. We were on a mission to get my friend's house organized so we didn't have much play time. I rode to work today and was surprised once again by that nasty old rain. I really hope the weather isn't fierce next week when I head for Sturgis. Sure ya'll don't want to go along? Still have 1/2 of the tent and an air mattress available...lol I'm riding up with one of the guys from my chapter and some of his friends. I don't quite know the route yet but we're heading up through Oklahoma so we have to be sailing through the DFW area. Tell joy 'Hi' for me! :peace:
-
Sunshine in Texas at last! Now I'm going to complain about it...lol I did the advanced motorcycle safety course yesterday and I fried!!!!! Would've been nice to have a little cloud cover. Okay, now I'm done complaining...lol I'm working towards Road Captain certification for my HOG chapter. That was the first step. CPR course this Wednesday. Then I need to schedule the First Aid course and get my practice trips in with my sponsor. I'm the LOH officer so we wanted to get some women RC's so we can take off on our own rides. We have three in training...go us! I hope everyone's getting some nice riding weather as well! :peace:

LapBandit...Welcome Back! If we can't admit our slumps to each other, who can we? That's what this group is all about...support! Good times and bad, better and worse, up or down the ##$## scale. (Pardon my french...lol) You'll be back down in no time. I'm stuck on a slow loser's course and trying to figure out what I'm doing so the scale barely moves. I think next I have to be aware of how long I eat. I think I'm grazing slowly which is allowing me to eat more. So I'm going to go for the 20 minute mark and then quit. See what happens then. I'm leaving on my Sturgis trip in 11 days and wanted to be down 11 pounds but I know that's not happening. I'll be thrilled with 5 now. Anyway, we all have setbacks which is the nature of the beast. The key is in beating the beast back at it's own game! You can do it!!!!!!!! :whoo:

Phew...657 miles this weekend. My longest solo trip ever! It was a gorgeous day in Texas for the ride home. Instead of sticking to 35 I crossed over on 190 and then down 281. Pretty scenery and not much traffic. Three weeks to Sturgis! Woohoo!! I'm soooo ready!! :peace:
-
Renee, the port location actually hurts the longest, well it did for me. I don't know that it will stop you though. The concern at first is actually a stamina thing because you're not getting that many calories. The further you are in establishing your eating of solids again I think should dictate your schedule. Hey Deb! I've been to Canyon many times in a cage and it is beautiful. I'm hoping to ride through Colorado next year. This will be my first trip to Sturgis and I'm really excited about it. I think you're wise in not pushing the hubby to make the trip. Just plan on next year! I'm heading back to SA tomorrow. Looks like the weather will be good! :peace:

Finally a ride! Rode from San Antonio to outside of Dallas (technically Forney) yesterday. Here are my lessons learned: When you have something called "Cool Thighs" that goes over hot parts of the bike, you should actually use it on a long trip. Especially when stuck in stop and go traffic in Austin. Don't put rain pants on until they are actually needed otherwise your pants are wet from the inside sauna when you finally take them off. Although I think maybe I melted away 5 inches from each thigh. Other than a little rain when I got up here it was a great ride. My longest solo trip so far. I hope the weather is just as cooperative on the ride home. And I need to find a way around Austin because the traffic is just awful, which I knew anyway. I hope everyone has a great weekend! :peace:

Hey Macacoza. Yes, from Texas and in Texas right now but I moved back here 13 yrs ago from Colorado. I sure miss the mountains and the changing seasons but I do not miss snow and cold...lol You can ride almost year round in our neck of the woods. I'll be heading up there maybe later this fall. My Father's getting married...again...lol This will make wife #4. I told him "you kids these days. You know you don't have to get married. You can just shack up" lol It gave him a laugh. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the visit if I get up there. It's been a couple years since we've been back. He's in Glenwood Springs. Where are you?

I'm a day late and for guilty reasons. I was up 5 on Sunday and made it back to 267 this morning. I really wish I would quit wasting energy losing the same 5 pounds. (sigh) :phanvan Name...............................Starting…....Current…......Goal…..........To Go losingjusme..(Christine).........293.............. 294... ..........276.................17 tann.............(Tammy)...........224............ . 221............212....................09 Josette.................................322....... .......322..............307.................15 RidinMyHDDream.(Carol).. .....267..............267..............256........ .........11 FaithMD............................... 312..............311.3..............299........... ....12.3 Elisabethsew..(Elisabeth).. ....275....... .......273 .............265..................8 Libra..(Angela)...................... 218...........;...216..............208............ . ....8 glindab..................................286...... ........286..............275.................11 Inner_me.....(Chris).............. ..295...............295.............280........... .......15 Anyway, on down the scale from here. I've been on a major popcorn kick with lots of salt and I think maybe it was causing the water retention. Well, it sounds good anyway...lol Welcome Gibson! We're all members of "the more the merrier" club! Katie, you hang in there. If I read correctly you LOST 7 lbs. I've been a slow loser and I just try and keep focused on the long haul. Any loss is a victory!! You just keep after it and you'll cross the border soon!!

Hey Randy, glad to hear Joy's doing well and you'll be able to ..um...test drive the parts soon....lol I'm still working out my ride arrangements but I'm certain that I'll find someone to ride up there with. Cindi, thanks for the comments. The New Mexico trip sounds like it would be a blast. I haven't quite thought about Galveston yet. That's in November right? I just want to get through August with the Sturgis trip and then flying to vegas just a week later for my daughter's 21st bday. If I have any money left..lol...then I'll think about Galveston. Would love to do SPIfest too but I think I'll save that one for next year. I'm a singer too Macacoza. Before my IPOD and now it's so much worse...lol Singing along at the top of my lungs. Course with the face sheild on it's so much safer. Don't want to swallow any bugs..lol Thanks for the input on the banded bike lifestyle. I know my only regret is not getting things done sooner. And that applies to the band and getting my Harley. I'll never be a size 6 but I can't wait to never have to shop at the fat lady stores ever again! :whoo: I hope your husband heals quickly. We had sunshine again today. Hoping it holds out for the weekend so I can ride to Dallas instead of taking the car. :peace:
-
Welcome to our merry little band of bikers Macacoza! It's great to know that you've been successfully doing both for 4 years! I'm definatley looking forward to Sturgis. It will be my first time. A virgin again after all these years...lol Gotta have some fun! :whoo: I think I may upgrade next year but I promised my little Sporty that we'd be going to Sturgis together. I'm thinking a Road King too because it appears it would be more comfortable on the longer rides. I can't wait to lose my weight. I refuse to get chaps for this big old butt...lol Hope everyone has a great day! :peace:
-
Thank goodness for the sunshine! I got to ride to work today as well and took the long way home just to enjoy it more. I'm thinking about riding up to Dallas this weekend. Well, Forney actually. A friend of mine is getting her house ready to sell and I'm going up for a working weekend to help her purge junk. I'm hoping the weather will cooperate. I just don't trust my dear old, well used car to make the trip...lol And of course, any excuse for a road trip! :whoo: Randy, how's Joy doing? I hope you get more riding days in too!! Less than a month to Sturgis! Have you decided to go? :peace:
-
Hey Jim, that's great news! Hasn't dried out at all. We had some big rain in San Antonio last night. I did ride with my chapter today in a small town 4th of July parade. We got soaked coming home. Someday I'll remember to pack my raingear..lol Had the coat but not the pants. But it was a fun morning. :peace:
-
Here's my Babee at the Exxon in College Station waiting out the rain. We were soaked and cold. The only thing this doesn't show is my cushy new seat! Yowsa my backside is happy!! :whoo: Harley was also kind enough to issue a helmet that matches my paint job perfectly this year. lol :peace:
