Hi Elisbeth, The time frame for everyone isn't the same, that just happened to be when I noticed that mine had stopped coming out. Some people say their's hair loss lasted a little longer. I feel that by taking the Biotin and using the Nioxin Shampoo that it might have helped me some. I have a friend who started using the Nioxin right after the surgery, and it has been 8 weeks since her sleeve surgery and she hasn't lost any hair so far. So everyone really is different. I just wanted people be to be aware that sometimes people do have the hair loss, and that is WILL grow back. I am not sure if I think the curly hair is so wonderful:biggrin2: I don't have a clue what to do with the new curly hair I have coming in now. I just hope that in time it will have less curl in it. Oh the things we go through with or hair! Suzanne :biggrin0:

Hi Everyone, I was sleeved in Mexicali by Dr. Aceves on 10/21/08. I have lost 78 pounds so far. I just found this site and I am excited to find it. Looks like there is a lot of great information on here. This has been a life changing event for me. My journey has been wonderful. I only wished I would have done it 20 years ago. The probelm is I didn't know about the sleeved until about 18 months ago. It is nice to be part of this group. I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know a lot of you. I live in Oregon and would love to hear from other people who live in Oregon. Suzanne

I am sorry, I do remember you. Try some Nixoin Shampoo and Cream Rise. That made a world of difference to me. Within a week, my hair stopped falling out. I am not sure if it was the shampoo that stopped it, or it was just tired of falling out. Now it is curly and short. I will try to stay in touch! Take care, Suzanne:thumbup:

Not everyone has their hair come out. I think about 3 months after the surgery, then it lasted for about a month until I started using Nioxin Shampoo and Cream Rise. Within a week of using it, the hair stopped coming out. I can't say for sure if that is what stopped it, but my scap is so health now and my hair feels good. I lost my hair for almost a month before I found this shampoo. At about 6 month out, that is when I started to notice my hair was curly that was coming back in. I have always had thin and straight hair. Suzanne:confused:

My hair started to fall out about 3 months after my surgery and lasted for a good month I lost quite a bit of hair during that month. I used a Shampoo and Cream Rinse call Nioxin. You can find it on line or check some of your local Hair Salons. After using it for a week, my hair stopped falling out. I really noticed it coming back in about 6 months after the surgery. It is thicker, but I think that it has to do with being curly. Suzanne:001_wub:

I use to be just like you thin and fine hair. My hairdresser said today--oh I just love your curl in your hair. If you have had thin and fine hair for over 60 years and all of a sudden it is curly and crazy--you have to learn how to fix it. I have been having it cut to even it up--but honestly I have a cute wig that I am wearing. I just wondered if any had curly hair after their hair fell out? Take care, Suzanne

Another newbie with many, many questions!
Suzannesh replied to ash's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The sleeve is the way to go. I see where many people have already answered you and given you information about having a child. I beleive that the sleeve is the way of the future. So I will chime in with my vote for the sleeve too. Since Oct 2008 I have lost 78 pounds. Take care, Suzanne -
Hi Everyone, I was thrilled to find this site. I have been on Dr. Aceve's site since I had my sleeve surgery on 10/21/08. I also returned to Mexicali with a friend when she had her surgery. I know that I am always looking for other people to share information with and get answers if I have any questions. One of the strage things that happened after some of my hair fell out was that it has now come back curly. NEVER in my life have I had curly hair. Has anyone hair they hair come back curly? :tongue_smilie: Suzanne
