16 Weeks: Putting My Sleeve To The Test!
wishes replied to Rico's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Err.... I <3 McNuggets at nearly 7 months out, but again I wouldn't eat them except for when I am out of options. I always try to make sure I have my protein before I leave the house. Planning is really a big part of what I think makes the weight loss nearly effortless. -
That's awesome. I know stalls are hard mentally, but it really sounds like you are doing great. Keep it up! Lol, I totally understand the slacking. I am my own worst enemy. It got really bad to a point my mom and boyfriend thought I needed an intervention because I just wasn't hungry i.e. read eating and I kept forgetting my fluids. I am a lot more focused on the fluids and Protein now.

Different Approach With Great Results

Got to love that unsweetened McDonald's iced tea. Congrats on doing so well! You really are living the lifestyle. -
I really don't wanna believe that kind of prejudice exists, but I know it does and is becoming a much larger part of our society. This kind of discrimination will not help the people who need care, and being obese does not stop one from being a good caregiver/nurse.

I love MFP. It really helps me in making sure I am getting all my protein and monitoring my carbs. I also really love seeing what other VSG peeps are eating for more menu ideas. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/wish3s -
Such an inspiration! Congrats!

Starting To Love My Sleeve
wishes replied to Reddi4change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I definitely feel what you mean by being a slave to the food in front of you. I really can't thank my sleeve enough for giving me the freedom to walk away. I am so happy for you. Good luck on your journey! -
Another Vster Has Made It To Onederland!

That's awesome. My mom was able to do that same yesterday! I am so happy for you. -
Most of the time for me, the stall with increased exercise is that I am not getting enough water. I DO NOT, I repeat, I do not lose without maintaining adequate hydration, so I always have to keep on top of that especially when I am doing intense cardio and for a long time walking was it.

As I Suspected: You Do Not Need High Weight To Bulk/tone
wishes replied to ouroborous's topic in Fitness & Exercise
That's awesome. I am so weak in the upper body, and everyone keeps pushing me to do high weights with low reps. However, it really is hard for me and I just don't enjoy working out that way. This gives me a lot of hope that I can still look toned with weights I can manage and high reps. Thank you so much! -
I was searching through my closet for over an hour before realizing I have nothing to wear! I know this might not seem like a big deal, but I literally fell to the floor crying. I don't dress up often, literally I spend almost every waking second in jeans and t-shirt or my pajamas. It doesn't really matter what I wear when I am in class, doing research or at home studying. But the one day... one day! I want to dress up I don't have ANYTHING in my closet that is appropriate for the club. Not even my bras.... I can't believe I am complaining about everything being too big. *sighs* I am sorry for ranting, but I really just needed to vent. Weight loss is awesome, but damnit I want some clothes that fit!

Yesterday, was my six month surgiversary from my surgery on September 1, 2011. I can’t believe how much has changed in six months. I am in a loose size 12 jeans. I can fit into 10s, but I am not ready to purchase another pair so soon. I started my journey at my highest weight of 271 and lost 41 lbs before surgery. I can’t believe I have gone from 230 lbs to 169.8 lbs, 60.2 lbs in 6 months! That is an average of 10 lbs a month! I may not be the fastest loser, but I know I will get to my goal of 120 lbs. Less than 50 lbs to go! I will definitely say don’t get discouraged if the scale is not moving as fast as you want. Keep to the plan. I don’t exercise as much as I should, but I am still losing. I live low carb, trying to keep my carbs under 40g per day. It works for me and my boyfriend who has lost 18 lbs since I have started my journey. I am so proud of him. I won’t say it is all a bed roses though. I definitely have loose skin issues that will not be going away, so I am considering plastics in the future after I start maintenance. I am 22, but I was morbidly obese for more than half of my life. I have learned this is not easy. It requires me to make food plans each day to make sure I am getting my Vitamins and the Protein I need. Following your surgeon’s guidelines is really important to lose weight and make sure you are getting your nutrients. I will and have totally recommended this surgery. My mother had her VSG on November 3, 2011 and is doing great! This surgery will change your life.

Wishes At 6 Months! How Time Flies.

@Foxbins: Yup, I am not the best, but it is getting a lot easier the smaller I get. I was signed up to run a 5k this last weekend, but my boyfriend couldn't take me so I couldn't go. It is good to know that I can do it. I'm signing up for a 5k + 3k in May though! I so wouldn't be here today without my sleeve. -
Thank you, everyone. I'm so glad to have such supportive people in my life while I'm having a fit. I love shopping consignment/thrift. It was just kind of overwhelming to not have anything nice to wear. I still love my size 12 jeans even though I wear a 10. It works for most days.

I Have Clothing To Sell. Mostly Size 14 And 2X.
wishes replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just had a little rant about not having smaller clothes, not that I have ever been this size before. I want to second Nichelle. You really might want to hang on to the smaller clothes you have. -
