Wow, I am so sorry your medical team hasn't been more supportive, but you have everyone here on this forum rooting for you. Thank you for sharing your story, and you are not alone. Some physicians just haven't caught up to the curve yet, I mean even Medicare and Tricare are still saying the VSG is investigational. Also, I feel ya on the 6MSWL. I will be done August 1st and it can't seem to come soon enough. I am hoping for surgery September 2nd. Good luck on your journey!

Ooh, that is a good tip for after surgery. I will definitely be adding that to my folder.

Whether you are paying for your surgery out of pocket in Mexico or going through insurance hoops, prepare beforehand. Find out about the surgeon, what he or she requires for surgery, and be able to ask questions. Also, don't leave the insurance handling to the people at the clinic be an active participant in getting your surgery covered. I think that is really important.

Congrats on your approval. You will get some replies pretty soon, I'm sure. I also suffer from anxiety, though I haven't been sleeved and I am sure we can both get through this. I have been working things that will help me out after surgery with a psychologist, and it has really helped me.

I started the Couch to 5k program two weeks ago and have been doing Week 1 for that time. I would love to have some buddies on the forum also doing the program, so we can keep each other going. Getting more active is my total goal with this and possibly running the Disney half marathon in January. I'm super pumped!
