Welcome to the forum! I know you will be able to get through the stuff you need to, to have the surgery covered. I know it might also take longer than you'd like, believe me I know. However, this is a great time to read up on the surgery and become familiar with the changes you will need to make to have this surgery truly be a success. Good luck on your journey!

Mine is only taking six months because I am required to have a six month physician supervised "diet". Some can get it done a lot faster than me just because there insurance requires less. It is all about what your health insurance wants if you want to get the surgery covered.

That is awesome! I know exactly what you mean, though I found some awesome skirts at Goodwill. They are very forgiving.

I understand this is a rant, and that you want to get some things out. But I don't agree with you right now. I might just have my rose tinted glasses on. I am 21 years old, and I like going with my friends to the club or going to the beach like any other Floridian, but around every corner with every bite of food... I am one step closer to diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and the deluge of other problems that are in my family line. My father is diabetic and my mother is pre-diabetic. I don't care about not drinking a beer again, and I LOVE BEER. I want to have healthy children. I want to get married in a beautiful white dress after trying on a lot of them! I want to shop, eat, live without shame of my weight. This is surgery is to change my life. I know we all have regrets and could, woulda, shouldas. But I am not rerouting my intestines, I am shrinking my stomach to 25% of its size. The sleeve is not reversible and I do not want it to be. I need the help, and I want to be free of my fat suit.

Lol, I understand the stress. I hate having naked nails, but it won't last long. I have to say all the protein in my diet is making for really strong nails though.

Yeah, you can totally make that happen. I will not say it will be over before you know it because damn it, it feels like forever, but you will get through this. Just take one day at a time. Don't obsess, and read as much as you can. Know what you are getting into, so you can rock that sleeve! Good luck.
