  1. Hope everything is going well for you!

  2. It will get here. I promise you. I feel the same way almost every day, but you know what? The ticker keeps moving each day, and I have little goals that keep my time line moving. In 10 days, I submit to insurance. In 25 days, I move to my new apartment. In 28 days, I start my new university. In 38, I have surgery. It will happen!

To make the shakes you have more palatable try adding some sugar free syrups like Torani or DaVinci.

    Before/After

You have done so amazingly well. Keep it up!
  6. That's freaking awesome! Work it, lady!
  7. He was a little abrupt, but I really do agree he is the best. He has been doing the sleeve the longest in Jacksonville, and he has really low rates of complication rates with his patients. That was a big reason I chose him. I also really love Novus. Susan and Megan have been so awesome with helping me through my insurance, and it is really nice to see what the sleeve has done for Megan and Jarrod!

    Student Loans

School loans are for covering expenses related to school, such as living expenses, food, clothing, books, you name it the loan will cover it to help the student go to school. The schools in Florida do not normally monitor what the student uses the money on as long as they are taking the amount classes they are supposed to. And can you not tell me there are not hundreds if not thousands of students who blow through their loans on on beer and cars? For some this surgery is a medical necessity and the student loans also cover those miscellaneous expenses. The student still has to pay back the loan, just they don't have to until their schooling is complete. Also a side note: most of the time now schools will directly deposit the money into your account for you to use as you wish. P.S. My use for a loan later down the road might be a little frivolous, but this surgery is not.

    9-22-11 sleeve date siblings?

Ooh, I am definitely in for picking out a name for us! It will be a great September I think.
  11. I love the attitude! I think everyone on here experiences some fear and self-doubt. We all have failed multiple times in losing this weight, but what amazes is me that we keep getting up and trying again. "Fall down seven times, stand up eight." You can do this. Good luck on your journey!
  12. Only 8 more lbs until I hit my Labor Day goal! I totally think I can do that, especially with my pre-op liquid diet which I am starting in 10 days.

  13. That's awesome. I was initially the same way until my bariatric nurse at UHC recommended the sleeve to me and told me the exact same thing about the band. Revisions keep becoming more and more common, and as I did research.... I realized this was a surgery I could live the rest of my life with. Good luck on your journey!
  14. Welcome to the forum! I am so glad to meet another person having surgery with Dr. Webb in Jacksonville. :)

NOT STAYING ON 6 MONTH DIET

I am so sorry this whole 6MSWL is causing you so much strife and worry. This is why I hate the six months. It has the benefit of giving you time to find out more about the surgery and what life will entail afterward, but it also makes me think it is set up for our eventual failure. Studies have shown the six months even three months does nothing to help the patient. It all about the insurance weeding process. I will be keeping you in my thoughts, please take care.

    No more thunder thighs!!!!!

Ah, I am so happy for you! I want to lose the thunder thighs and bat wings sooooo bad!
  19. Does your multivitamin also have calcium? If it does, you pretty much aren't getting any of that iron. Iron and calcium bind to the same receptors in the body. Calcium is a lot bigger than little old iron, so it pushes it out of the way. You might need to start taking them two hours apart so that the iron can properly bind. Also just a side note, vitamin c improves the absorption of iron.
  20. That's a couple days after my tentative date, but I am still going to say good luck! Also, the closer it gets to September, the more people who will start showing up on the forum. It is truly possible there will be someone there the same day as you.

Sounds like a plan. I was thinking about doing something similar for my breasts after surgery.

Awesome, that is such an amazing NSV. Keep it up!
  23. Yeah, try not to get discouraged. My boyfriend cuts out a soda a day, and he drops 3 lbs a week. I have to cut down to 1200 to lose 1.5.

What is your favorite recipe website?

I also love Linda's blog because she has really yummy recipes that are carb friendly. Also, in her links on the right side of the page there are links to more blogs with recipes. http://eatingwelllivingthin.wordpress.com/2009/08/10/come-over-for-coffee-youll-be-glad-you-did/ Also, Big Daddy's blog is fabulous if you are low carbing it. I love his recipes and breaks down the carbs for everything. http://lowcarbohydrate.blogspot.com/2010/03/crustless-ground-turkey-quiche-2-net.html
