Oh no, keep us posted on what you decide to do! I will be keeping you in my thoughts, lady.
-
The supervised diet should be good no matter what. Just keep your records, and definitely call your new insurance. Tests are tests unless they want like a specific surgeon.

Welcome to September! We are excited to have you. Congrats on getting a date! You must be so excited.

Hey lady! I am not in the same month, but I am in the same process and we seem to have quite a few similarities. I am 21 year old female college student. I am 5'3" and 235 lbs, and I am hoping to be sleeved in September! If you ever have any questions or just wanna talk please feel free to contact me, I love to talk! -
6 month supervised diet

Only if your insurance says you have to then it shouldn't be a factor in your approval or if your surgeon says you have to. Good luck! -
Try the Nectar Protein Roadside Lemonade.

Protein shakes and drinks info for a Newbie

Unjury Chicken and Unjury Chocolate are really good and 20g of protein per serving with 4g of carb. I also like RTD EAS Vanilla 17g of protein 2g of carb and I have heard isopure isn't bad either if you do the powders not the RTD. -
Lady, I live in Tampa and go to school there and I will be having surgery in early September. By October, I will definitely be A-okay, and if you need a ride from Tampa back to wherever you live just let me know.

Personally, I like to give at LEAST a month's notice.

Does everyone have to jump through hoops to get approval from the insurance company.
wishes replied to ChunkyAndFluffy75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, but some insurance companies do want to see if the patient can remain consistent and attend each Dr.'s appointment. Or I sometimes when I get really sick of the 6MSWL I think they want to see people drop below the covered BMI. For me, my insurance requires the 6MSWL, a psychological evaluation, and that I have a BMI of over 40 with no comorbidities or a BMI of 35 with two. It really isn't a lot, but it sure can take awhile. The plus side is my insurance covers 100% if I meet their requirements, and that is totally worth it to me. Though, take this six months to really prepare for life after surgery, how to cope with the major changes in habits and lifestyle, and prepare your loved ones. Good luck on your journey! -
WHAT I need to wait 6mo.....should i pay out of pocket?
wishes replied to bethk12@gmail.com's topic in Insurance & Financing
Honestly, it really depends on the quality of your insurance and your financial situation. Waiting the six months can be beneficial in helping you prepare for life after surgery, how to cope with the major changes in habits and lifestyle, and prepare your loved ones. For me, the six months has been a trial, but I got through it and I have lost some weight and since I have met my deductible my insurance pays 100%. However, if your insurance only pays 70/30 it might be better to just self pay. More wonderful people on this forum will chime in, and I hope you come to a decision you can live with. Good luck on your journey! -

You are definitely in the right place to find the support and information you need on the VSG surgery. I hope you are never afraid to ask questions and that you can find a place to really feel comfortable. Welcome to the forum! There is always someone on here at whatever stage you are at.

That's awesome! Congrats! By that time you will be 3 months out from surgery, you will probably be on solid foods by then, so that should be fine.

@NewMe86: Not really, maybe more of a last drink or two or three... or every weekend until August, lol. I've been kind of saying good by to alcohol. It is kind of hard to be a college student and not drink, so I am kind of getting my last hoorah out of the way or at least until six months after surgery. I've been low carbing it since May, and I can say I think I am okay with food for now, but I am definitely coming to realize I am saying goodbye to a lifestyle now too. I definitely won't be the quintessential college student anymore.

Wow, it seems so many of us are starting to get ready for September! I am so excited for us. Who is doing a pre-op diet? And when are you starting?
-
Wow, I will be crossing my fingers for you. The 6MSWL is a trial, and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. I really hope you hear a quick approval.
I am doing well! Only 9 more days until I finish my 6MSWL and then Novus submits to insurance! I am so excited, and I only need to lose 8 more lbs to meet my labor day goal. When are you hoping for surgery?
-
Wow, that is just amazing. Congrats on just blowing the weight away!
-
I really think this is one of my favorite SV. Congrats!

Low carb/no carb alternative to fav foods?
wishes replied to VSG4aHealthierMe's topic in Food and Nutrition
Try zucchini noodles. They are a great substitute to legit Pasta and taste delish! http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/23/health/22recipehealth.html
